Actually, by changing the gear ratio, only the way of power delivery changes and not the power.
Like if you use bigger rear sprocket, the initial acceleration will be more, but the top-end will decrease. And in the same way, if you use bigger front sprocket, the initial acceleration will decrease but the top-end will increase.
Just the way of power delivery changes.

Is there no way to adjust this?

      Cheers!!
Aren't there any provisions to adjust lever play?

But then how does peak power developed by Sz & Fz vary with the same cc engine..

Both the engines are tuned differently. One for biased towards more power other towards more mileage.

Will adjusting the lever play change when the switch gets activated? I have no idea. There seems to be no way I can access the light switch without damaging it.

As Nadeem says above changing gear ratios changes the power delivery and not the power.
These are two separate aspects. The engine which produces the power and the drivetrain which delivers the power to the wheels.

Both these aspects can be controlled individually.
When you tune the engine, you control the power generation. When you tune the gearing (over-gearing or under-gearing) or tune the suspension setup, you control the power delivery.

An engine can be tuned differently for different applications. Displacement alone does not dictate how much power an engine produces. For e.g. a 125cc kart engine develops far more power than a 125cc engine in a city-scooter.

By changing parameters such as how much or how long are the intake and exhaust valves open (valve-timing by changing the shape of the cam lobes and spring rates etc) , how soon does the spark plug operate (ignition-timing), how light is the piston, how is the piston surface shape etc, one can widely control the engine power and even when the power is delivered.

Some cam designs operate best by keeping the valve open longer at low speeds, thus the engine generates more power at lower rpms. This is desirable in a commuter such as the SZ. But change the shape so that it operates better at high rpms and then you can use the same 153cc engine in a FZ.

There are so many other parameters that can be controlled.

If displacement were the only parameter, then we should have seen a 2.5L Toyota Camry beat a 1.6L F1 car right? But that most likely will never happen

            Cheers!

Taking your Mercedes example i'll go a li'l OT but relate it to your query.

                The current F1 cars use a 1.6L V6 engine.
                The current F1 safety car (Mercedes SLS-AMG) uses a 6.2L V8 engine.

So the F1 safety car engine displaces almost 4 times as much as the F1 car engines. But watch an F1 start and see how much faster the F1 cars launch off the line when compared to the safety car which starts from the back of the field!!

                Cheers!!

Has anyone replaced the rear tyre recently ? If so, can you please let me know how much would it cost ?
I am planning for a change the rear tyre for my FZ and the local tyre store here in Bangalore is quoting Rs 3800 for the MRF Revz-Y tyre which they say is better than my stock Revz tyre.

With the stock tyre I felt like more planted to the road at straight line and corners, but I don't like the way the tyre worn out on after 12k...and in wet roads it did get into a lot of puncture which was so annoying and had to give up on the stock one

I just replaced my stock tyre with Revz c....so far now had a good comfortable ride both in rain and dry conditions, had good grip on straight line on both the conditions and topped 124 in dry roads and on a wet one reached 80`s....

Am not sure show the zapper y will be working on..try and let us know bro...

Stick to stock which is close to 3-3.5K INR in Bangalore. Try kalasipalyan extension area and ask multiple dealers. Or, for that price, try getting the Pirelli SD - awesome review so far. Another apt replacement is Dunlop Tuffgrip which isn't available in market for a long time now.

Revz-Y already in market? AFAIK, it comes as stock on new FZ V2. I changed the rear tyre recently and enquired for Revz-Y to which the store guy replied, "FZ V2 is hardly seen on roads, how can you expect Revz-Y to come so soon to us". I changed to Revz-M, got it for Rs. 3450 in Mumbai.

How do you guys clean the Engine fins? Especially in the mansoon? Cleaning with the pressure water jet also didnt seem to help.

Also can anybody tell me the procedure to remove the side scoops? so that I can better clean the fins.

If you have patience, take a thin tooth-brush and clean each fin with that.
Btw, pressure wash usually cleans the fins.

I wanted to stick to the stock tyres by MRF. That's why went to a local MRF dealer. As I stay near Banaswadi, I was not considering going to Kalasipalya. Let me go and do a little bargain today. If I get it for 3.5K, well and good, else will try Kalasipalya. Will keep you posted.

Yup. I did verify it myself. It had Revz-Y written in it. The dealer said he got it just couple of days back.
