    Ride 1 : Mumbai - Daman - Vapi - Mumbai.
    Fuel loaded : 10 litres (+1.4 reserve)
I had a pillon on this ride and cruising speed was 90-100. Top speed 119 (odo).
The bike hit reserve at 393 kms. Mileage 39 kmpl :what:

    Ride 2 : Mumbai - Pune - Uruli - Mumbai.
    Fuel loaded : 9 litres (+1.4 reserve)
This was a solo ride and cruising speed was 75-80. Top speed 110 (odo).
The bike hit reserve at 422 kms. Mileage 47 kmpl

Just to sum it up, a bike's mileage depends on various factors like cruising speed, weight, prevailing temperature, road condition and the bike's health + maintenance.
Avoid rapid acceleration, improper gear shifts and frequent braking for a better mileage and engine life. Always start off with a warm engine and gradually reach the cruising speed.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.
Man you are grtting awsome mileage...
I resently had a 577 km ride..will pillon at hilly area(i am from nepal) with speed varying from 40-97 kmph...and i got 36.7 kmpl..
Calculation based on full tank to full tank...

Bike is fz16 2009 model with 78 k kms on the odo with stock engine

In the city, my bike returns a mileage of 35 to the litre and on highways it is usually between 40 to 45.
Everything is stock except the rear tyre, which is 140 size Dunlop & recently switched over to fully synthetic oil.
      30K kms on the odo.

I wish you could get relocated to pune. I would then ask you to do my bike's servicing..

on a serious note what will be the recommended service interval as per you?

Changes oil at 3-3.5k, oil filter every 2-3 oil changes, air filter at 10k. Rest symptomatically or precaution'arily. Other than that I don't follow any specific intervals

                  Better Lighting,

My workplace is shifted lately and I have do 15KM more on the highways without any road lights. Please suggest me good lighting options either HID with or without projector lens. Read forums that HID might obstruct the oncoming vehicles is there is no low/high beam toggles. Suggest me tried and tested options.

Go for only good OEM projectors from BMW or Merc, the cheap chinese ones wont give you, what you are looking for. If you dont have the budget for them because they are expensive then try the below things.

The best option to go for better lights is HID, but the high beam will irritate the hell out of the oncoming traffic, Been using HID without projectors from the past 4.5 years.
Second option is to get those LED flood lamps attached to the engine guard.

another option is to go for a 60/55W Osram Night breaker or Philips Xtreme vision bulbs but again they can drain out the battery pretty quickly, to compensate for the head light you might have to shift to LED tail lamps and indicators because the stock battery in FZ is 5AmpH, with 12 Volts, so any load above a total of 60W will drain the battery,

and last but not the least

                      Forget about your top speed.

but if you are worried about the engine performance check the top speed in the following manner, redline the bike with every gear right from the first, crouch down as much as you can.

Top Speed varies a lot depending on the following factors:
                      1. Total weight of the bike including Fuel, which has increased since the 140/70 is a beefier tyre than the stock.
                      2. Wind at the time of testing.
                      3. Road gradient and condition.
                      4. And basically the overall condition of the bike.

Thanks for advice buddy. I am more inclined towards condition of the bike rather than topspeed. So just wanted to know what parts to check for wear n tear.

Hey, How old is the bike? and just keep on doing regular servicing and replace the parts only when needed, because with usage there will be some wear and tear.

Close to 40K Kms on the odo. Below are list of the parts changed till date.

                            Chain set changed only once
Airfilter at 15k,20k and 30k on the odo.
Rear trye at 15k - Dunlop tuffgrip 140/70 will repair my stock tire and post the changes here.
Front tyre at 35k - mrf zapper fx stock profile
                            Spark plug on need basis.
Engine oil and filter last service 37K kms on odo. Motul mineral oil due to cash crunch.

A mechanic insisted me to change the clutch plates as it has not been changed till date. Apart from these what to check and to change as a proactive measure. To recondition my ride.

Does it need changing? 40k km isn't much to warrant change of clutch plates.
If your clutch gives a burning smell or if the revs rise but speed doesn't you should change clutch plates. And make it a point to change pressure plates also, along with clutch plates.

Apart from this, keep an eye on the battery level and get your forks overhauled with new oil and oil seals.

No issues, with 40k on the odo the top end is bound to drop a bit.
