Guys I am getting a strange issue since the last week. At times when I stop at signals and turn off the engine (kill engine red button not the key), the bike refuses to start later. I have to put the bike off using the key wait for a few seconds keep trying this for 2/3 times and then it would start

I did go to he SVC and told the guy about the issue, but the bike started in one go everytime so just could not make my self clear to him.
Today I reached home from office and tried to replicate the issue , surprisingly a strange noise is coming during startup. Any clue what is happening , plz check my video

Dude.. there is a serious problem with your bike.. the starter motor is not cranking the engine well or may be the meshing between the starter motor gear n crank is loose.. hence the krrrrr sound.. show it at the earliest to the SVC... Dont worry it ll be done under warranty..

Problem with key assembly

Hada strange problem with my bike.. I went for a holiday last weekend.. I had parked my bike in our apartment only... This morning when i tried to turn the key on, it never turned.. I tried for 5 mins and there was no movement at all.. i called up my yamaha service person and he asked me to pour some oil and wait for 5 mins.. i tried this too.. it never worked... later i brought a mechanic and he checked the assembly.. he said it was bent by someone recently.. maybe someone turned the handle harshly when it was parked.. he says i have to change the entire setup.. which will involve modifying the keys and setup for petrol tank and seat compartment... the handle moves almost to straight when i turn it.. it does not move much before when the side lock is made.. . I came in scooty to office today

will this be covered in warranty?
how much approx will be needed to fix this??

..........try pressing the key in first and then turn it.....i had a temporary problem like this once......i pressed it in a bit and applied some force and it worked....later the problem vanished!!!

No this will not covered in warranty.
Better u will go to the svc.

sorry to hear that buddy.. but i believe if someone has tried to move the handle bar when its locked, only the lock should get screwed (that too only if huge pressure was applied). I suggest you to take your bike to the Yamaha SVC somehow and get it checked.

i had similar problem with my fz.. the ride wasnt smooth and lack of accelaration.. hard gear shifting..
i went to the svc and bought some parts to replace:

1-spark plug
2-air filter
3-oil filter

and i also changed my oil to motul 5100 semi synth oil.

got all the parts and asked my mechanic to change it in front of me.. all this worked for me and now Im in love with my bike all over again.

1st Screw Up with My Bike

Hey all,

i guess it had to happen... i was riding through traffic with full lights on and by mistake i left the clutch while the bike was on 1st gear and the bike stalled. After that, The console just went off by itself. and even though the bike was on neutral the green light refused to come on. I then turned off the key and then after a while turned it on again. However, the bike refused to do its pre checks with the lights coming on and the tacho going to full and coming back. neither did the engine warning light came on.

Hence, to somehow reach home, i put my bike on 1st gear and with the clutch fully pressed ran for a bit and then slipped the clutch and then started my bike. After that, the horn is completely muted, and the console lcd backlights keeps on going of for nano second and coming back on. I guess lose cabling, blown fuse or battery may be the culprit. However, i need an urgent advice from you guys. What could be the possible problem??

i will have to do a running start again tom morning and make it to the service center, however fearing that it should not further screw up my bike.. i came running to the place only where i know i will get some good guidance..

i am just simply pissed off with the fact that my bike being barely a month old has started giving such problems... i hope it doesnot turn out to be something major...

dont worry bro..the bike is fine..the problem may be due to faulty battery connection or some loose connection to the battery.there may be some prblm with the earthing system of your bike..tomorrow you 1st check ur bike whether it starts and take it to ur nearest yamaha dealer.do remember to take the battery warranty with you,,if prblm with battery,they will replace free of cost..Do let us knw about ur feedback

Well here in bangalore you can easily get one sticker. For the yamaha logo they charge Rs.25. I dont know the price for fz logo but i had once saw a person asking about it & getting it stickered.

FZ logo not available over the counter. My left side is torn and tried max to get one. The guy showed parts catalogue and its not available sticker, only comes with tank panel Only option left is vinyl shop, but they don't have the brushed aluminium textured ones we have on FZ.

I said it already that the logo is available here in bangalore. I dont know about the rest places. If you manage to come here then you can get one.

You mean the FZ writing on the tank??? Genuine Yamaha ones???
