Hi Sarkar, Thanks a lot for the information. Yes, I'm completely fine. Its FZ-S which took the beating. Regarding the console, I have no option since I can only see the fuel level & speed. The RPM & ODO is all gone. If I install a new one can I get the current ODO & trip meter reading? I'll post the snap of the depression shortly.
Also are their specific areas which need to be checked which remain unnoticed? though the bike is now with SVC.

    Cheers,
    Abhijit

as it is a minute dent,it will not be a problem. As there is no breakage it will be fine..& the other things which is mostly necessary is front fork bend checkup & handle bar alignment.it is impossible to get back your old odo reading as it is saved as memory in that console only...Your new console will be with new reading starting from zero.

Thanks a lot. Visibly there is no damage to the fork. Minor issue with handle bar alignment. Will ask SVC to look into it.

                • Yamaha FZS

Hi..........I am the proud Owner of all new Yamaha fz-s.I bought blue Yamaha fzs which is definitely a head turning when going on roads.Yamaha has done a brilliant work for the bike taking care of each and everything.
The bike delivers an excellent mid range torque. The bike has an excellent stabilty bcoz of linked monocross suspension. There is no need of decelerating the bike when conrnering bcoz of rear suspension and higher Center of Gravity as well as Wide radial tyre at the rear.No need of commenting on pick-up of Yamaha bikes.
I strongly recommend the Yamaha fzs which will add value to your money and definitely a pick in 150cc segment.

                  Happy Motoring

I am also interested to know about this.. Infact I have never seen an FZ with a rear disk. Sometimes I feel that It would have been better if FZ had got rear disk brakes.
Yamaha might have thought that an underpowered bike like FZ-16 doesn't require a rear disk

I really don't think it needs a rear disc either ... the feedback you get from the brakes is unparalled , i have ridden most other bikes with a rear disc and did not find them much better ...

P.S : Bike update , all problems finally sorted out and the beast is roaring like never before , I think what people say is right , the way you ride depends on the way you feel ... the past 6 months have been a real huge low for me ... was getting really depressed with my bike as one problem after another kept cropping up ... first the air leakage issue , the battery issues , electricals shutting down at random ...

I couldn't rely on my bike to get me anywhere ... refused to take anyone along for the fear of leaving them stranded anywhere ... whenever I had to take it out , I was feeling utterly exasperated . I used to carry around a bunch of tools for the shortest of rides , a couple of fuses if was going out at night ... had a few blown fuses as well ..

A lot of people started talking , coz I had got this bike against many people's suggestions of a platina or star city ... :P , but I stuck with it and now the bike's just flying ... changed my air filter , general service and a lil talk with the head mech got my air leakage issue sorted and BOY was that a relief !!!!

Bike did 115kmph the other day with a pillion who weighs about 103kg ... felt amazing , engine showed no sign of stress and was butter smooth even at those revs ... simply amazing ... for a guy who had done about 1500kms in 6 months due to troubles ... I've now done about 2k kms in a month and a half ... like they say , all's well that ends well
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

                        • @Nand, really glad to know ur bike's performing at its best without any niggles, was getting a little paranoid myself reading ur posts, i would rush to the svc at the slightest hint of anything cropping, but never really faced a problem except for the notchy gear shift. Hope the good run continues for a long time to come.

                          cheers
