This FZ fills much bigger then the RTR and smoothness of the engine is just brilliant. No Idea how long this will last? It is still in run-in period so, not crossing the 4000k mark, though I have few questions to asked you here
Congrats bro.. So heart won over brain, huh..? (Saw your posts in xtreme thread) Any way, good buy, keep rolling..

      1. What could be the mileage I can expect from FZ?
      2. How to adjust the Headlight light beam (No info in the manual)?
      3. I already have a HID set in my home, which is 35watt and that used to work on my RTR. Can I install it in the FZ, does it support? What is your views regarding HID in FZ?
      4. How is the Tyre life?
      Thanks in advance.

Firstly , congrats and welcome to the club . the Engine would just get better as you go along , may not be as good as it is now , but better !!!

Mileage depends on a lot of factors , but generally with sane riding , around 35-45 .

Yep I think you can install the HID without any issue .

About tyre life , close to 15K kms now and still going strong !
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

      • Hey guys, at what odometer reading is everyone generally changing their brake pads? Though my rear shoes feel OK I think I'm starting to gain braking distance on the front. I'm at nearly 7k km and the bike is 1 year and 3 months old.

        Thanks

        • @Bambi & Nand: Thanks for the reply and welcome gesture.

@ Sooraj: I was so much confused and there was hardly a small difference between Hunk & FZ. The new hunk comes with a rear disk, but no DC headlight where the FZ has no rear disk but a DC headlight which is more important to me as I will going to install my HID kit soon.

Oh boy, consider your self blessed that you dint chose the HUNK over FZ.
Except for mileage and pillion seat there is nothing that HUNK offers over the FZ.
FZ 's got much much better Handling and braking.HUNK's front brake is too soft and back is too hard...locks up unnecessarily.

Handling - definitely. Hunk suffers big time.
Front brake is not that soft, the thing is, it lacks that initial bite.
And the rear - don't scare me..

              • hunk has gt more initial power than fz but when it comes to handling its no where near fz,braking is top class in fz and much better than the hunk

anyways for those of you who are anxious to hear Joel anna's exhaust system... here is one video from a fellow bhpian who did the ffe upgrade on his pulsar 200 dtsi. the following video is done without the db killer... to me it sounds pure music..

Ive been riding my friends new HUNK and thats exactly what i felt.Back is very very hard, easily locks up.i even warned him to be careful in these Monsoons considering he is a new rider too.Maybe its just his bike?im not sure.
And about the front brake,Yes overall its good but something is missing..maybe as you said its the initial.

                    • Hi friends,
Unfortunately my rear tyre of FZ-S was leaked within a month of purchase(11/1/11) & I have no option other than a local tyrewala & he repaired it with those BROWN STRIPS meant for tubeless tyres but Unfortunately he drilled the hole little bigger.... therefore the strip was thrown out when I use to fill air... but then I went to other local tyrewala(2) & he somehow managed to insert 2 strips together but Today it got leaked due to ineffectiveness of those strips & I went to that local tyrewala(2) & again he tried to do the same but IT WAS NOT RIGHT LIKE THAT THIS TIME....& he told me to have a tube of size 140/17 but it is not at all available in the market....so please guys help me to get an appropiate size tube for the rear stock tyre since I have only ridden 1450km's only..THANKS IN ADVANCE

all is not lost yet , take it to some proper tyre repair shop , they can fix the tyre from the inside ... keep the tube as a real last resort .

Does that bike has a disk brake at the rear..? Mine is drum, but I ve seen that rear disk on Hunk is a bit too hard.

Crashed with a Santro, luckily not my bike, unluckily sat as pillion on my friend's RTR. Fractured right leg.
