don't sweat it bro , Jus clean it and lube the chain at the 500 km intervals and you should be good ...Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostSo what will we do in the rainy seasonPeople ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

1st puncture
Hi all,
today after running for almost 10,500 kms on the odo, i witnessed the first rear tyre puncture and to my own mistake i admit... Thanks to insane traffic pile ups i had started using b roads and as a result a tiny nail of 2-3 inches not very thick went inside the rear tyre. i have now realised the true benefits of having a tubeless tyre, as the puncture fix barely took 5 mins to get done from the tyre shop near by...
i am sure i got the nail somewhere last week and surprisingly the tyre lost pressure only to 29 psi max that too i noticed after being slightly lazy from checking the tyres thanks to the rains for over a week. for me i would say 10,000 kms and just 1 puncture is something really remarkable figure. However i now would prefer using the regular roads to avoid any more nos. piling up
Anyways, i would be checking the tyre pressure tom to be sure that there are no leaks happening. Anyways, another report on Motul Chain lube... seems to be working awesomely.. i guess the can should last for about 3-4 months..
just sharing some pics with you all of the nail and the repair done

10k with just one puncture awesome but it was your mistake not the tyre's
mine 2 punchers on the rear 3k both at once and my mistake
talking about results
what about our members who installed the big bore kit
no reviews yet i suppose both of them finished their run in period

I have noticed after running through heavy rain lube all gets washed out. The chain become rusty too. So in my opinion either avoid riding in heavy rain or lube it a bit.Originally posted by nand15 View Postdon't sweat it bro , Jus clean it and lube the chain at the 500 km intervals and you should be good ...

@w00d@bangalore
How old is the present oil check then engine oil level on a warm engine
popping wheelies needs revving hard thus degrading the engine oil faster
i assume its mineral u change it by 1k if you have the money
Once i had accidentally put a bottle cap into my tank which i had tool out before
Note Write in Normal font and normal black colour

Saddlesore 1600 done
Well,
I just finished my sleeping cycles! (yawn!) (for last 48 hours in all!)
Let me try to compile my sub-24 hour drive
I started the ride - on 13th August @ 0032 hours
and, finished it same day @ 2327 hours
It sure includes 1661 kms
and many more things - bike giving some scary figures for mileage!,
some re-assuring moments- wrt ride stability,
being air-borne! (both wheels in air - at speeds on the other side of 80),
driving in half the speed of pit-lane limit - just coz I was close to reserve - and two pumpwallahs told me - no petrol! - that too after going through service road, to the pump - just to wake up the guy - to hear that!,
The sun went up from my right side to the top -
and again went down on my right side!
( I turned around, when the sun was at the top and I had done 830kms ! haha)
The bike sure delivered as much as I could ask.
I will try to put some events chronologically-
Till then, thanks to all my friends here for the help and kind wishes!
@Strider: who didn't know me till I PMed (the first time) to him - asking some advice for Saddlesore I am planning!
He called me (I had shared my number-), and helped me with many things!
Thanks to you in particular, again!
Compiling a detail report of the drive, and the hiccups, and a few other things.
Thanks,
Ace.Last edited by driverace; 08-15-2011, 06:29 AM.I wish, I would be paid by the word! :p

The possible damages to the bike in the long run:
1) Cone Set Gone
2) Fork Seals leaking or gone
3) Front rim bent or damaged if done with improper tyre pressure
4) comparatively lesser clutch plate life although Yamaha's clutch plates can handle a lot of abuse
5) Front wheel bearing having a much lesser life coz of the enormous pressures it faces during the sudden force of wheel hitting the ground.
Engine should not ideally give that much trouble if the regular services are done and no wheelies being popped up when the engine is cold..
You know the answer in your heart... whether to continue wheelies or not..
