"BIKING"...
is a religion that i follow . a sheer passion ,an enthusiasm about riding anything that runs on two wheels , be it an old respectable Mopet or be it d monstrous yamaha R6.. before i tell all d biker folks my story , a little info about wt i think of biking n what bikes are to me... To me every single bike that is made out of factory is like a humanoid , possessing its own virtue and life form although its known that they are just machines running on carbon fossilites but since "it" (d bike) gives me the feeling to be free , to move ahead of others , to zoom ahead, the feeling of success, the feeling of accelerating,id rather consider it as a humanoid , .. all these are just a few of the factors that i can describe .
I got a nag for biking after i saw a moto gp accident in a sports channel wen i was in class 7,, then onwards i always wondered what a mighty creation is it ,that with just one twitch ,your loosing each and every control of a a bike..
i waited till my college started n started saving up for a bike, i wanted a 180 cc engine , enough to quench my thirst for power , mileage etc other factors.. started visiting showrooms , blog sites , xbhp, ********** , biker next door etc etc.. they were really helpful as because of them i am a more knowledgeable rider rather than being a random ride!!.. Took test rides of Pulsar 180 , Apache rtr180 ,but all these were of no use as my dad declined to give me a 180cc bike.. nagging fights yielded nil results wen i agreed for a 150 cc segmented bike ..
It was completely decided that i was going for Tvs apache rtr160 .. i was pretty much contented with what i was getting .. .. just 1 week before getting the bike ,i passed by a showroom of Yamaha which was near a shopping complex , i was driving by.. saw white bike there.. god knows what happened there , i u turned my car after covering like 1.7 km n returned to the yamaha showroom.. went inside.. n there it was ,. a beauty , a work of aspiration n magnificence that left me awestruck and i dropped my jaws gazing at it.. heart beats flew as if i was in a diferent world as if i had a crush on sumone not human, yeah , honestly i felt like that ( just emoting myself). ok ok , lets not go into my fantasy world of bikes (where i and my bike and long empty roads exists)..,..
I came back home disheartened as i wanted an apache . . n specifically tvs provided better power , mileage , n ,displacement .. but even today i really dont know what it was that changed my head ..literally screwed up my head rather...
i told my parents of changing my decision of buying The White FZs [competition white ]..
test rode it on the "adoption day" [i believe bikes are made to be adopted by their true riders or vis a versa ] ..It may sound vague but not 1 day has passed by without the thought of me seeing this bike for the first time in the showroom , the white angel , d work of art
..i have rode my bike with utmost care and attention following all the guidlines provided by experts .. i have covered 3000 kms in 3 months.
so now lets go into the real story , my biking review..
To be honest what i have realised from biking in the last three months is that the bike treats u like d way u treat it
I clean my bike every 3 days with water and remove dust everyday from it . .. Never revved d bike above 4k rpm for d first 5ookms ,and the next 500km within 6k rpm range . rode it very gently n roads , along with practice sessions every week to improve my riding abilities..
Before 500kms , I was very patient n calm even though deep down i felt frustated at times to ride in 50 kmph , even if there was a long stretch of empty road , but to me bike"s running in was more important than my own aspiration of speeding . In this period i got a mileage of 30-35 .
After 800kms it was time for my first service. Changed the engine oil , oil filter , air filter .
the bike felt healthy . after the first service , i and my friends went on a trip of 700 kms.. here i got a mileage of 43. After my bike clicked 2000kms , i changed the engine oil again..
with each passing day my passion and respect toward my bike grew. In a span of 2 months i covered around 3000 kms . 2nd service was done a few days back..
now the bike feels newer and more friendly. At the moment i am getting a mileage of 38to40..
To cut short , if a biker takes care of his bike during the running in period , the bike is sure to be the best companion for future years to come..
live free , ride hard.
