bit on the expensive side , about 210 bucks a piece ... No alterations needed , direct fit ... Haven't ridden the bike after changing , will confirm if they are any changes in characteristic ...

Also guys , I got DOT 3 brake fluid , was a brand called TVS-girling , for 35 bucks , is this one any good ??? ... everywhere I asked they gave me the same one and no one had motul DOT 4 , the only guy that had was the wholesale dealer and he had a 500ml bottle only , no smaller quantity ...

I have a pair of p180 jets. 117.5 main and 17 pilot. What do you need the jet for?

                • Guys,

My bike's odo reads 18k km and the chain was very lose with no room for tightening. SVC guys gave an estimate of approx. 1500 rupees.

Went to a local mech, got two chain links removed and the bike was good to go for another 7-8k kms :-)

                  Total cost - a meager 50 rupees

Now, i know i cannot compare a new setup with the current makeshift one but the gain would have been hardly noticeable

i am not too sure if it is a good move. More or less your bike's chain life has come to an end. Others may be able to throw a better light on this one.

                    Cheers

                      Quite probably right, shv18!

@ nirvaana: Chain tension, whatever may be it's age, is measured by how much vertical play it has. It has to be 3 to 4 cm. when the bike is on it's center stand (as recommended on your owner's manual). To do this measurement properly, one should actually rotate the wheel to find where the chain is in it's maximal tension. You will effectively see that it is not constant by rotating the wheel while the bike is on it's central stand. This is an important thing that most mechanics totally ignore!

This, however, does not give you any information on how worn your chain is. To know that, it is the lateral play which matters. Once the tension, as explained here above, has been adjusted, check the lateral play. Above 4cm: just throw the chain away: you really don't want to snap while overtaking an eighteen wheeler!!!
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!
