  • Leo Vince Cobra Full System Exhaust for Fz-16

Cobra end silencers are the TOP of the LeoVince range, developed exclusively for the market of up to 250cc displacement 4-stroke motorcycles.
The design of the silencer, a new flowing “S” shape, derived from MotoGP, thanks to the wide experience of LeoVince gained over years of cooperation with leading teams and technicians of the highest class. High heat resistance fibreglass is inserted internally, that guarantees longer life, regular heat exchange and a refined sound.
The silencer and pipework are constructed in AISI 304 stainless steel with a “Scotch Brite” surface finish, that consists of each individual item being cleaned by hand, so that the product is free of any unsightly imperfections.
During development, the R&D department has used a dynamic test bench to obtain maximum performance. Optimal ratio between torque and maximum power has been obtained by applying large size exhaust ducts.
To further enhance the silencer, an aluminium LeoVince logo plate has been applied that also highlights the products Italian design, reproducing the colours of the National flag.
For those who wish to reduce the silencer sound, a dB-Killer is supplied in the pack.
Available at BACHOO MOTORS, Mumbai for INR 14,400. Don't know the lead time though.
I came across one of the interesting discussion about Fz-16 & the state of moyorcycling in India, on a US forum have a look:
Most of us are lucky. Look at the FZ16
    I meant no offence!

The exhaust lookz funny but i like its surface finish. For Rs 14400 i'd rather get a 180cc block n a racing carb from Joel (m sure it would be in that price bracket, few bucks give n take)

And that link from FZ6 owner forum, i had a good laugh reading their comments.

          Hi Kinshuk,
Yes, the design is a bit odd. But there is much more into it rather than a form.
          Check here.
Just wondering how the Fz performs with this one. But I hope better than Daytona.

abhijit thats true.... that these exhausts are much more than what they look like.... for me its always a mix of looks and performance.... looks are the only reason why i am not upgrading to joel's exhaust...

            • Hey what are the symptoms of a dry clutch plates???
I am yet again in a weird situation.
I had my oil and clutch plates changed 1500 km (MP motors) back. I experienced heavy loss in pickup and went back to the SVC (YFS wakdewadi). They said the clutch had dried up. When I got the bike back it was back to awesomeness but after having ridden it for 180Km since then I can feel the roughness, loss in pickup and other vibrations issues....
I am going to head back to the svc tomorrow but any help on the forum would be welcome...

some serious oil flow issue or less than sufficient oil level is the main cause for that.. As them what is causing that and get it rectified.

                  .
I have a Custom made Free Flow of SS, so dat part is ok.
Just that for a City like mumbai where roads r bad, using that extra amount of power is not always possible.
plus the lookz and the sound do matter to me a lot.

                  • Does anyone here have the knowledge of how many turns are there on the FZ's Carb A/F screw ? (I mean Factory settings)

Hey good to know the FZ-x is going strong at 20 k kms. So what do you have in mind for your tyre replacements which shall be due in next 2-3 k kms?

Personally speaking even i'm inclined for Sirac's but i was apprehensive if they'll fit on FZ rims. I dont mind removing the hugger. But now as you say Sirac would be difficult to find in mumbai, I have no other options for offroad apart from TVS eurogrip used by Vishwas sir.
I know the reviews by Vishwas sir were good for TVS but i would still like to keep them as an option of last resort. Viswas sir used it just 4 3k kms & if i get it, i'm sure to use it for atleast 15k kms & I'v heard bad experiences with TVS.

What would be your choice for leh if Sirac's are unavailable?
Dunlop TG, Pireli SD or TVS EG ?

& what you said about clutch plates was exactly my point. I don't mind at all spending that 1 k for a new set of clutch plates. Its just that my stock clutch plates are working like a charm & hence didn't wanted to get rid of them so early. Nevertheless I'll let Kamala guys take a call on this one. If i replace the clutch plates, i can always carry my old clutch plates as a spare, cant I ?

PS: I was thinking on lines of Vishwas sir to get a basic training in Kamala for a few DIY's in case of need. What do you think, will i be allowed to do so if i speak to Imtiyaaz, Rakesh or even Shrenik ji personally? Would you by any chance be able to pull some strings for the same ?
haven't thought over it yet... i intend to turn FZ-X into a complete mile crunching touring beast... other stage of mods are still pending from Race Concepts. having a hard time to find a window of opportunity and let DOKTOR Joel do the power transplant surgery. The FFE has surely made a difference with her performance, FE never dropping below 42-45 kmpl even after repeated thrashing and mixed city rides (one gets the tendency to rev it unintentionally as the rev meter refuses to go slowly towards 6k+ rpm in the blink of an eye) 95+ kmph now is very easy to hit unlike with stock exhaust.. i am expecting the nos. to climb up even higher and faster post the mods.

Regarding tires, I would like to opt for hard rubber tires for the same but have not been able to find the size needed. Stock MRF tires are superb in terms of grip and cornering but are not apt for rough terrain & Off-roading rides like Leh/Ladakh. Dunlop Tuffgrip looks promising but haven't seen any stock here in Mumbai. Don't go for PSD you need proper off-roading tires for the same.

TVS Eurogrip PANCER (i think if i remember correctly!!) is the tire Vishwas sir used for the trip.

Regarding basic training.. best person to speak to would be Rakesh. He will surely help you out. The primary thing you should master for Leh/Ladakh is tuning AFR of the Carb. High altitude sickness is a common problem faced by Carb bikes so usually one has to lean the AFR to match the reduced air density at such altitudes. Other then that a well maintained bike will not give you any trouble whatsoever. I would recommend you should speak to Vishwas sir once if you intend to do the ride with your FZ.

                      Cheers

Wow, your FZ-x seems to have bowled you over with the increased performance. I never had a doubt about the Doktor's miraculous inventions especially the FFE. I wish i could get atleast 1st stage upgrades done but can't since my funds are tied up with the ride planned ahead.

The mileage figures are mesmerizing bro, my FZ never returned more than 30 kmph on my last ride to mahabaleshwar (though i admit she was thrashed on highways as well as ghats & she never disappointed performance wise even though the chain/sprockets, tyres & clutch plate may need replacements)

TVS eurogrip Pancer has the same profile that Michelin Sirac does i.e 120-80.. Would search for Michelin's if not, i'll go for TVS.. Dunlop TG isn't an offroading specialist AFAIK. So that leaves my search only aimed towards TVS.

Carb tuning, clutch/accelerator cable changing, fuse changes, puncture repair, disc brake checks is what i was expecting to learn..
already know filter cleaning, oil changing, battery checkups.

Vishwas sir would be approached once i finalize most of the simple things that i can manage on y own through research.. Will leave the difficult parts for experts

Thanks for the suggestion bro, believe me I'm taking no chances whatsoever on the spare parts replacements thing. My list of replacements is a big one as a matter of fact & will get most spares replaced from mumbai itself.

Just spoke to a few tyre dealers in mumbai & had a positive response for TVS & Michelin offroad tyres. will be going there on monday to check out the same.

About the carb tuning issue faced by Vishwas & others, here's a small simple DIY

I can do it myself if the need be (will learn to open the carb & access main jets from my mech) but i'll rather let the experienced mechanics in such regions to take care of this issue right from as soon as manali. I'm also considering using a custom free flow air filter rather than removing air filter altogether as most people do there. Lets see how that goes.
