  • Battery tray and compartment for Honda Unicorn

My unicorn is a 2007 model, alloy wheel version with electric self start.
Long back, I ruined my battery tray and clamp. Where can I buy genuine honda unicorn spare parts.
I need genuine Honda unicorn battery compartment , battery tray and clamp.

      4. Replace new Air filter.
The restoration is now complete. I preferred to have a separate thread for myself (as I originally did) but seems the mods never bothered and whatever I post gets into this one mega dump of a thread. This was very annoying as the posts tend to get burried deep, which makes searching and finding rather difficult and also make the whole dump of information chaotic, incohesive, bloated and scattered. I simply don't understand why everything related to Unicorn must be here in this thread. So I chose not to track and post the progress here in this forum.

If anyone of you is interested you can see the progress made here: 2008 Honda Unicorn - DIY restoration - Page 3

Anyway, I don't seem to be liking the character and tradition of this forum. And, this would most likely be my last post here.

I guess you can have a thread in the diy section of the forum as there are other unicorn diy's there too. Good job on your bike I too wanted to do something similar on my 05 model uni which looks twice as much worn out as yours did, it would be helpful if you mentioned the price of the items you purchased too, looking forward to more stuff from you .

I opened it in DIY section initially. But wherever I open, if a post mentions 'unicorn', it gets dumped here, which is unacceptable!

How am I supposed to know that some unscrupulous person will move my post here? ROFL. Nevertheless, I later reported my post asking it to be moved back to its own thread so all posts related to the restoration job remain connected properly. But the request was not heeded.

It may look silly, but such actions are so annoying. There are many such ethics followed here that I don't like. The culture here is simply not for me. Anyways, I figured xbhp is not for me. I just wish there will be some freedom and better ethics sometime in the future. I don't think I will be missed here. Too much moderation is too bad. Good bye!

Hello Friends, Myself Gagan from Delhi. I have some doubt in my mind .. please clear the same.

                1) I am in process of finalizing one bike for me , early though of buying scooter (which may be use by my wifey.. but she refused and she want to use my car .. occasionally - leave this hehehe).

                2) Also i am 6.3"with weight is aroun 95kg tall my daily commuting is around 50 km in Delhi Traffic.

                3) Now earlier I was in process to buy 125cc bike - stunner which is around 62000 rs (on road) , after reading many reviews for this bike.. i shifted to Ignitor which is around 68000 rs on road.

                4) Now .. i am thinking that.. if i have to shed near about 70,000 rs for 125cc, why dont i go for 150cc bike.

                5) Then I concentrated towards two bike Unicorn (72000 rs on road) and GS150R (71500 Rs on road).

                6) In Delhi both bike is not easily visible means ppls not buying these bike (new 2013 models) - reason best know to them

                7) I made promise to my wifey this time I will stick to three years to my new bike...

                8) Now please suggest from the above two bike which one to go for.. a) Unicorn or b) Suzuki GS150r

Please provide brief supporting answer to your suggestion, by keeping every requirement in mind.

                Thanks

GS150r is more than capable of unicorn in all terms. Even styling looks better (personal opinion). Considering your physique, it overcomes Unicorn. By reliability, suzuki has always been at par with hondas. Good and exclusivity in service, since it is their flagship product. Added advantage is the 6th gear, that aids in happy city cruising and makes it a better tourer. FE is almost equivalent. Also gives a big bike feel with its overall length and mass. I would suggest GS150r. Call is yours.

Considering his height 6.3, unicorn is better and more comfortable, my height is 6.2 and while riding my friends gs150 in heavy traffic condition gave me cramps. The 6th gear is practically useless in city as one would hardly be able to reach that gear in traffic, if he's a frequent tourer then it would be helpful, and FE also is higher in unicorn. If not the unicorn check out hero extreme or Honda trigger too.

                            1) What shall I do to have my performance increased ?
                            2) How to get a performance increase ?
                            3) My electrical output is low, the "bright" mode headlamp too has a very low light output. What to do on this ?

And, please suggest some creative cosmetic mods for Honda unicorn ?
Can you elaborate your problem fully. . ? According to me it must be a blocked carburetor or check with the diaphragm that's what happened to my bike few days back and I am going to change it by tomorrow. . . If the carb is blocked or the diaphragm is damaged, the bike becomes like too lean, my bike presently not able to go behind 5-6k rpm, and doesn't touch a top end of 60-70kmph, it feels like shit now . . . Best you check the both. . . About enhancing performance, you just need to get it serviced timely and change the oil time and time, as far as I have been using shell ax7 semi-synthetic is the best oil I found and I have been using it for some time now. . . To boost a little bit more power and top end, ask your mechanic to keep the carburetor for power tuning, it'll be awesome after that. . . About the light, replace the 35w bulb with 55w bulb without any mod (that's what the wiring guy told me, no mods required). . . I am going to change the diaphragm and put a brighter 55w light bulb and get back to you soon, also consider cleaning the headlight and reflector, dust reduces light visibility. . . Hope it helps. . .

                            Cheers!!!

It's your wish mate, I told you my opinion and what I felt about the bike, so it's up to you to decide which one. . ? In short as a Unicorn owner, I would suggest you cos it's one of the best bike I have ridden and it's really smooth. . . About the 6th gear in gs150r, it's not useful in city conditions, but Unicorn is very good in city rides and also at highways, it's very good and comfortable. . . At the end, I would suggest you to go to both showrooms, test ride both and decide which one you like. . . That's it mate. . .

                                Cheers!!!
