Re: Honda Unicorn
What you are experiencing is normal. Whenever you throttle or decelerate suddenly there would be a jerk.Originally posted by ajtheghost View PostThe problem is when the gear is engaged and when riding at constant speed whenever I raise or release the throttle there is a jerk from the bike. This happens in lower gears upto 3rd.
What you can do is-
1. It could be that your clutch settings does not suit your riding style. Maybe it is full clutch. Try changing it to half clutch and check again.
2. Check if the throttle and clutch cable has a play in it.
3. Lube the clutch and accelerator cable.
4. Check if the brakes pads do not rub against the drum or disc preventing free rotation of wheels.
BTW, was the bike parked under rain for considerable time?My DIY(s) - Sprocket bearing change | Paint job | Custom speedo dial
Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

Will check that. Well I rode my friends CBZ, and Fz today and checked for similar issues and did not face any so I dont think its my riding style.Originally posted by petrolhead_chn View PostWhat you are experiencing is normal. Whenever you throttle or decelerate suddenly there would be a jerk.

Bike has only done 6000kms can this problem occur so quickly?Originally posted by lineinfire View PostThere are already good advices being given. I suggest u to look for them. Besides them, you might also want to look if the diapraghm is moving freely or not. Recently I changed the whole carb set because of the jerks as the diapraghm was not moving freely.

Re: Honda Unicorn
Once in a thousand, you get this. I believe Honda Unicorn and Dazzy has more problems with the diapraghm. I changed mine at 13K and the brand new replacement also had the same problem. So, I had to show ASC a piece of my mind. After replacement with another, the bike now revs freely and there are no jerks in any rev range.Originally posted by ajtheghost View PostBike has only done 6000kms can this problem occur so quickly?
I think you should put it as a possibility.

Re: Honda Unicorn
Diaphragm is not sold separately, it comes with a set of other parts which costs about 2kOriginally posted by lineinfire View PostOnce in a thousand, you get this. Re: Honda Unicorn
By 13K I didn't mean amount, it was my bikels mileage 13,000+ KMs. The diaphragm alone is also available but I choose to replace thw whole carb set as the walls were also scratched I didn't want to take chances. The diaphragm was somewhere around 1400/- and the carb set cost me around 7600/-. The prices are in IC but I paid its equivalent in Nepalese Rs here so it might seem bit expensive.
