I don't find reserve/on/off nob for CBR. I asked my dealer about the same, he mentioned there is no nob for this model. Is it true??
In that case what is point of mentioning 3lt reserve

Yes; since C250R is Fuel Injected (driven by fuel pump) it has auto choke & auto fuel supply mechanism, there's no need for it. I'd STRONGLY suggest going through the owner's manual, word by word before even starting the bike.

The number of bars on your LCD console. Also, IIRC, its 3.5 lts of reserve. Do not take this lightly to run the risk of burning your fuel pump.

Very true, In the city when I kept the revs under 5k, I got an avg of 38 kmpl. Some times 40 kmpl aswell. Now that I'm revving it harder, I'm getting 32 kmpl.

a third talk with HMSI confirmed that filter will still take another week and yes I SHOULD NOT CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL WITHOUT CHANGING THE OIL FILTER!.....

Hi, I did my first service after running 650 kms. As the oil filter was not in stock, they did not replace it. I have now run close to 900kms. What do I do now ?? should i get it replaced ASAP ? And what about the new oil ? Would i have to change that as well ? Help required

                          The logic is:

an oil filter is used to filter all the impurities and dirt that circulates within the engine oil...

when u change the degraded engine oil without changing the oil fitler,
the dirt collected by the oil filter stays in the oil filter and pollutes your new and fresh engine oil....

although this wont damage ur engine yet u have to live with the fact that atleast 25% of the dirt and some of the old and spoiled engine oil circulates along with the new oil....
thats y it is recommended to change the oil filter with every oil change...

(as per a website mentioned before and HMSI,delhi)

                          • ^No, the oil filter is changed on the first service and then every alternate service i.e. every 12000 kms. Not on every oil change.

yup!i knw that...the oil filter has a higher lifetime than engine oil..besides, the derbis collected in the first 1k kms is much higher than that collected after it...

its a good practice to change the oil filter along with engine oil though nt doing so (and changing it at 12k kms) does no harm

just like its a good practice to change the engine oil within 500 kms of riding but not doing so (and doing it at 1k kms) causes no harm!

and just like changing the engine oil every 3k (even if its the best and costliest quality oil) kms even though the manual says 6k...

its just a tip to maintain ur bike at its best.....

What you told is according to the manual.
What AmlanR_CBR told is his opinion.

IMO Better to change oil filter whenever you change the oil. Filter would have collected 20-30 percentage of the dirt in the oil, which we can't see with our naked eyes.
