yesterday i rode down ti visakhapatnam and was roaming here today and suddenly i saw a cbr250 in a second hand two wheeler showroom.Felt surprised to see a CBR250 in a 2nd hand showroom, went there to check it out,it was 1 week and 100kms old..with some small scratches on the silencer. When enquired the person told me as the owner bought a NINJA(donno 250 or 650)so he sold this out,..The cost tag was 170000.

So, in continuation to the above, here are the test results..

I wanted to be as scientific as possible.. so shot all the photos with my Canon DSLR. To keep the exposure exactly the same between the multiple shots, I shot in full Manual mode with the following exposure settings..

      50D + 17-50mm @ 17mm, 1/30, f/2.8, ISO 800, Image Stabilization On, WB Manual 4000kelvin

/\ Took this above shot just to give you an idea of the ambient lighting..

Now I zoomed in to 50mm with same exposure settings.. to get a closer view of the beam throw..

The wall at the end of the passage is a good 300~350 feet from where I was parked.

The results are here for you to see I think the biggest gain is in Low beam... both in terms of spread as well as intensity.

Philips claim that these are 80% brighter than standard blubs, but I felt that these are at least 40-50% brighter if not more!

      What do you guys think?

seems to be unusual, seller is lucky to get 170000.

Awesome! Thanks Vicky for the comparison!
From these pics, Philips X-treme Power looks too good. What's the cost of one bulb?

I couldn't find any store stocking the single unit blister pack.. so had to pick up the twin pack which cost me 1100 bucks. MRP was 1200.

                • this is why i love xbhp...some good modifications on the bike already !
A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

Yeah, I actually installed those but removed them the same day as they blink faster. Somehow I missed the fact that LED indicators need a different relay. Need to order a relay which is a plug and play replacement for the CBR and then install these indicators. I'll find out which relay suits the CBR and order it soon. I'll post some pics once its done.

The bulbs are being sold for 1100-1200 a pair, and NGKs are being used in CBR.

And anybody here thinking of k&n filters. That will be quite intresting as it might bring a lil change in the exhaust note and make it more throaty, and will k&n filters void the warranty?

                            • Has anyone thought of putting aftermarket tyres? for example 150 size for rear? I want to know as I will be changing it as soon as I get my bike. But wanted to confirm from CBR owners here. Will it impact top end?

                              Cheers
