      • Is it worth ordering?

Just came across this website - http://www.powersportspro.com/pages/...s?aribrand=HOM and these guys are genuine Honda parts dealer. If you wonder, why I posted it here, then the question is...

Is it worth to bring several engine oil filters when I come back considering the fact that the price is almost the same between India & US ?

How many would be interested? Depending upon the numbers, we can take it up from there.

            • I gave my bike for service at T nagar didar and I was surprised when they said they have oil filter in stock and they even replaced mine. So I thought this information might be useful for you referring to your signature.

                  Hi All,

Today, I have given my bike for fist service at Dream Honda Bangalore and they have finished servicing the bike in 3 hours. I was way during that period. After service i noticed that my radiator pins got damaged badly (sone touched with their finger hardly). I spoke to the manager and he said that he would correct that problem after some days.

The engine is not smooth after first service as compared to earlier. I don't know the reason. Can anyone tell me why engine smoothness gone after first service?

Is anything wrong with the service? They charged me 1250 for service.

I can't comment much on the service or the smoothness, but, Rs 1250 is way too much. Go through previous posts to see the actual prices. The price of oil for 1.5 lts (that's the max) is around Rs 300 (20W-40) & Rs 260 for filter; water wash is free unless they've charged Rs 690 for water wash & lubing the chain inclusive of taxes.

                    • Ist service done

                      Hello everyone,

Just came back after my 1st free service at Royal motors ,Gandhinagar.Following points noted below:

                      1. Engine Oil changed (1.5 L= rs 765/-)
                      2. Oil Filter changed (rs 260/-)
                      3. Chain slack checked (now gearbox seems smooth)
                      4. Chain lubing done (no noise or rusting found)
                      5. Washing and cleaning done (ASC used high pressure nozzle , when i objected they said they actually keep the nozzle at slightly lower opening to pressurize the water less..i cudnt find logic though n voila what i found that the black coating on the cylinder has peeled a bit ...its really disgusting.I found same kind of problem with some other Xbhpian on this forum. I guess this happened bcoz of using pressurized cold water on hot engine n would strongly suggest other xbhpian fellows to look into it seriously.
                      6. No wax or polish applied by them.ASC guys politely declined about it. Does it apply to every Honda ASC. plz correct me.
                      7. Rust found on few bolts here n there .No help from ASC guys n they said they don't have any anti-rust spray , i m bit worried about it in long run. Any advice / suggestions?
                      8. Last but not the least, the guys at royal motors are very polite n helpful, right from service manager to technician to spare parts executive.

                      Cheers!!!!

                        • Congi Go! sucks on wet

Today i went for a ride to LAVASA in pune, and it was probably my first rainy ride on a ghat section...and i swear the tires on our bike is damn scary on wet,it sucks bigtime on wet! While taking a corner the bike just slids,i could feel that its just slipping out on the road today i had zero confidence on the ghat, where as these tires are fine while riding on dry! Am sure ill change it before next monsoon!

Are you guys feeling anything significant improvement with 10W-30 vs 20W-40? It better to use 20W-40 in tropical weather like Chennai though.

                                Sure; questions does help;
                                1. Next time when you're at HMSI ASC, ask to look for their workshop manual of C250R & it clearly says you can use 20W-40 or 10W-30

                                2. I can explain, but, what I learned on engine oil is from PSR ji; I'm sure he visits this thread often & I'll let the original knowledge speak than the borrowed one

Anyway point is that, when you're are higher temperatures (compare Chennai & BLR) its better to use an oil that can with stand higher atmospheric temperatures rather than lower ones. Like for example, Chennai has certainly more than 30C. So using a 10W-30 will make the oil unsustainable to withstand the engine's heat.

Like I said before, its hard for me to explain & I'll let the original ideas flow through from the right person. He'll be able to put things better.
