I too had a small accident almost 5 months ago, only the L-RVM and Left handle bar had to be replaced. although the side fairing got many scratches, but refrained from replacing them.
Now just last week, we were on a 2 days ride covering ~900kms. While returnign back (almost 400 kms left then), I felt that after every lil bit of bad patch/gravel my bike passed through, the RVMs and Headlight assembly used vibrate and gradually it increased to a limit that I had to adjust the RVMS after every 10mins.
Then I stopped for a while and found out that the the screws holding the headlight assemly are broken. So I was holding that part with my left hand and was riding single handedly whenever there was any speed breaker/potholes. The headlights were doing discos on the road .

Took it to SVC the next day and found that the main Steel bar holding the whole headlight assemblly is broken .
The reason is the 5 months old accident which left a little crack on the bar and after that going through many potholes resulted in breaking them.
    Total cost:
    That headlight assembly: 2318
    The headlight holding bar:600
The side panel where the assembly is mounted: ~650(need to be replaced yet, the part was not at SVC then)
    Labour: 300
Exactly what i was talking about. cant really decide on the damages by seeing the outer appearance.

        Nope.
@ Siddharth Sure - Yes it comes with a center stand - Rs 980 for stand + Rs100 Pin + Rs 50 for installation

@Ron - I had inquired some months back, yes the bike has a center stand. Chances of it scrapping when cornering are present at times.

There are two ways to look at it.

            1) Most of the members here change engine oil in first 200kms or 500kms even after their first ride to the shop. I count that to be dumb truly, yeah you can go ahead with it if you feel like but does not make any difference. Also, the chances of ruining your engine are present or not I do not know. At your own risk and your decision.

            2) This is the approach which is present in the Bible -OWNERS MANUAL, change oil in every service, before that dont touch the oil chamber, prescribed grade is Semi Synthetic 15W50, Costing Rs 505. I abide this rule and this is my 4th bike and have not faced any engine problem till date. I believe that the engineers in Yamaha are skilled and knowledgeable than me, atleast they know the product in and out since they have created it. So abiding by that. Warranty is also taken care since you have honored the policies set by Yamaha.

Now the choice lies in your hand buddy.

As per the grade, stick to MOTUL 15W50 Semi Synthetic.

Please keep servicing bills with you in a separate file, will be helpful for claiming warranty. I keep all bills for the bike in a separate file along with other important career documents.

                  BTW @RON and other members

                  1) Facing a problem of weak quality bolts. Last Sunday my cleaning and lubing ritual took place, felt this vibrating fairing. So took out the Allen Key and started tightening the bolts.
                  2) The nut has started to slip, yes, the quality of bolts has sort of deteriorated, has anyone faced that? I guess they have been tightened atleast 8-9times and within this span the bolts have lost their shape.
                  3) Bubble screen screws are in the same shape, the screwdriver does not grip the screws.

                  Anyone faced the above misery?

                    1. didnt face this. If i do, then surely will let you know.
                    2. This usually happens in some nuts. design plays the part her. not only the nuts in the bike, but anywhere. if over used then this will happen. my advise - change them now itself, or else while changing later you may face difficulties to remove them! FYI this had happened to my activa too, the tyre nuts. kept slipping! finally with great difficulty it was removed and got it changed.
                    3. didnt try this.

Yes, They are of 'not so good' quality.

1&2) But what i heard from some veterans and SVC mechanics is that, using a professional toolkit (like a reversible ratchet type) might help avoiding this. The allen keys which we normally use are of inferior quality and adding to the quality of the screws, their life will not be what it is supposed to be.
                            3) Do you mean the windscreen screws? If yes then isn't a plastic one ?
Rx is a Phoenix!!! It always rise from ashes!!
