Not true! The R15 sells in South America & Australia. And as far as The question of what is 'international' about it.... Lets see ... Other than the Deltabox, the engine is shared with FZ 150i, which by the way is sold through out South East Asia.

I don't want get into brand war over here... Each bike has its strong points and fulfills a certain requirement.

Kid, R15 can be compared with CBR250/Ninja 250R/Duke200 only in terms of handling not performance. Power of 17 PS vs 25 PS vs 33 PS vs 25 PS and Torque of 15 Nm vs 23 Nm vs 22 Nm vs 20 Nm.

Pata nahi Pappu log kab pass honge...????

If you adjust your lenses, I have clearly mentioned that comparison is not with with Top speed which is basically equation of horse power...

R15 is all abt performance & handling...

I can vouch for that ! Guess the numbers are low in Bangalore as of now which makes it more of a head turner.

bro first you decide what you want to tell about R15--it is good in all aspects or bad??If you think R15 is all about handling & not about performance you are bound to be taught some practical manner by some R15 owners. The R15 is a gem of its own..it was the most advanced bike when launched in 2008 & till date it is the most advanced...If you dont like R15 ride the top of the line bikes available in India along with the R15...you will definitely give your mind a second thought about R15.
The performance of R15 is way ahead of its competition in the segment of 150-223cc.& yes the deltabox frame is the main reason for the true racing instinct of R15 but the Engine is also a marvel at the time of launch in 2008..

See as the cbr is still not actually started selling on road & no testing from any websites in india, none can tell which one is better but in my terms watching the condition of cbr250r quality I would definitely give it a 2nd thought. It will be better if we should wait for 1 year to go by after the cbr is launched so that the faults are overcomed by HONDA as the quality issue will be there. On th other hand the quality of R15 is already tried, tested, proven on continuous basis. If I were you I would close my eyes & go for R15.

Something so odd and strange. You first post in the thread asking if there maybe any difference between R-15 v2 and CBR-150. Then you go all about saying R-15 is a Yamaha vixion with full-fairing. Then say there is nothing great about it and that a RTR-160 can beat it. Then you say that you initially booked a R-15 v2, subsequently cancelled it to find if the CBR is any better. And in about 7 minutes, you post that you bought CBR250r just a day back. What is wrong with you...??

I think you are dumb idiot (not to forget the 29 year old part ), who is a happy 250r owner, trying to rub the noses of all R-15 owners about the newly launched CBR-150. Or in other words, a mentally challenged whack-job.

All said and done, each bike has its own character... Some prefer R-15 and some prefer CBR.

              • My update

So, a happy new years wish to all fellow v2 owners.

A month of R15 v2 ownership and so far everything has been great. Did the first free service. Chain slack adjustment and general servicing has made the whole bike even smoother through the revs. Doing constant 10k shifts and enjoying the acceleration. The pull is very dramatic from 6k to around 9k. The peak torque area that is. Both brakes have run-in properly and providing excellent bite and response. Headlight is something i would have loved to be 60/55w type for better lighting. Unfortunately the reflectors cant take them and i aint gonna mess with it, so stock it is.

Totally happy with my purchase of R15 v2...

Next time i suggest you to highly pay attention to the CBR thread(or any other product you intend to badmouth) before writing off a product completely without knowing the facts that the "faulty/quality issue" parts have been replaced free of cost long time ago.
In other words, do some research before suggesting any bike to anyone. Just because some people complained months ago about some issues doesnt mean the company hasnt paid attention to it. HMSI has done the needful a while back. So i request you to keep ur knowledge updated on every product before you suggest someone for/against it.

                  • My little review of R-15 V2

Engine & Transmission- The engine is already a proven masterpiece of engineering. I find the low-end and mid-end having better response in comparison to V1. The sprocket-ing has proven to be a better upgrade afterall. The pull is significant and stronger than before all throughout the RPM range. No knocking or heating issues. Engine note is a joy to hear, and flicking the smooth silky gears at any speed and RPM is a bliss in this bike. Puts a on my face everytime i ride it.

Looks and Ergonomics- Look-wise, unanimously everyone agrees that it is the best bike in this department of 150cc and sub 1.5L budget. Ergonomic-wise, there is not one issue in this bike that will put off any customer what so-ever. The handle reach, seat height, lever reach, foot-peg sets and riding posture gives you an amazing experience of a true sport bike class. Some of my friends though complained that the seats are a bit hard, i find it more than adequate. No complaints here... Oooops! Almost forgot, R15 v2 is strictly a single seater. The second seat is no good what soever. The rider seat though, puts you in such a command and control over the bike. You can be GOD...!

Handling- The new rubber and longer aluminium swing-arm work in tandem and give an amazing feedback to the rider. The bike is much more stable and planted through the corners especially than the V1. The rear brake has adequate bite to it, and the increased size paying off very well. The rubber is good and stick to the tarmac after a good warming, just like the V1. The handling though is bit stiffer than the previous version. The pothole management is a wee-bit better in V1. (or is it just my bike..? ) The front-back weight ratio of 49:51 has made the bike so good, you know it when you take the corner at high speed, and it behaves so well mannered...there is tears in eyes...literally, its that good..!! The lowered front end and raised backend has also improved the handling so much. The biker now has more control at any situation and time.

Yamaha have done something remarkable here. They took an already well made bike and made it better. But the blunt truth is, V2 is how the R15 should have been. The V1 was a more indian-ized version. But a V2 rear three years back would have proven catastrophic for Yamaha i believe.

I hope no V1 owner takes me in the wrong sense. I respect both bikes equally. There is no V2 without V1...!

I remember you posting a reply that you didnt find any difference in respect to acceleration of V2 in comparison to V1. Now, for this there can be plenty of reasons to why it was so. I am not here to talk about that. But i think there is a definite difference to it. Did you have another chance to test a V2 again? Pls do reply your opinion.

Also, my chance to say thank-you to you. A lot of your post in V1 thread helped me to buy this wonderful machine. Thank you.

I have been doing night rides almost every single available opportunity. The low beam single H/L is not sufficient at all. However, both H/L high beam spread and light is good enough for speeds near triple digit. I haven't modded the lights for both low beam setup. But have relatively angled the high beam for optimum coverage and spread. But for me, no light is better than projectors or night-breakers. I am so used to them because of my cars.

Not sure what you mean by "improvement" in engine braking. Have been engine braking from the purchase for better piston seal and seating. Maybe i am not so good at finding the difference in such a case from v2 to v1.

Not much mile munching so far. But given the fact that some chennai roads are equal to a dirt track, the tires are holding up good enough. Not much of cuts or anything on the contact area or sidewall. Psi monitoring also is not showing any signs of slow leak from any micro-puncture.

                              • I got my New R15 V2.0 few days back :-)

I simply loved riding it.. Everything is good.. Ive accustomed to the seating position without much hassle but the pain in my forearm/palm/Wrist area is only a big issue.. In my earlier bikes (pulsar and FZS) i added a cushioning to the handlers.. Will doing the same for R15 Rectify my problem? Or Should I ride for more time so that it will take care of itself? Or Should I get a pair of riding gloves?

I feel the problem is because I sit pretty deep(My Back touches the end of the riding seat) and crouch a bit so that my thighs hug the tank(Im 6 feet +).. So all my pressure acts on the handle bars.. I feel maybe that is the reason.. Should i change my seating posture..?
