Nothing to worry.. That's the nature of the bike.. It provokes you to push the throttle and rev.. When you don't.. It feels like holding back suddenly.. Think of it as it's way of telling it's not happy

Thank you! Rode with him for 40 minutes.
I could feel the engine straining :-( [compared to single ride]
Maintained gear shifting at 4.5-5.5rpm and revved really slow.

It's pretty norma to feel a lil excess strain before ur first service... Bike gets a lot smoother after the first service and will heat up also a lot less

Has anyone done a mod to make the rear brake pedal a little more comfortable ? I mean like for me I would prefer the part where your feet touches the pedal to be a little longer (like say an inch more protruding outwards). With the stock pedal i need to put my ankle somewhat like this \ -- like angling it inwards to be able to brake and its uncomfortable.
I would personally prefer to keep my feet more relaxed and be able to tap the brake with my feet straight.

So has anyone welded like a small extension or something ? lets say from this
Make i could get another gear lever and chop it off and weld it ?

          • Duke 125/200 differences

            Hello everyone !
Is there any visual difference between the duke 125 and 200 ?
Is it possible to tell which one is which if the stickers from the tank is removed ?

              Hello Fellow D200 Riders,
I am planning to buy D200 2014 this month and wanted to know what Kind of precautions I should take while Purchasing.

              1. I live in area in Pune so which sales centre will be good for me?

              2. I live in Saswad, Pune which is a theft prone area, So should I opt for Anti Theff device/Insurance?
(my friend suggested that Anti Theft Devices are fancy and just drink all battery juice.)

              3. How much On road D200 costs in Pune, is there any possibility of discount or what Freebies I should insist from sales get?
              4. What accesories (brand&type) you would recommand to buy it along with the Bike?
              5. What things I should take care while buying.

              All suggestions appreciated.

First off bro go to other threads. No point in posting and waiting on one thread.
Secondly, I don't live in Pune so don't know the OTR or the showrooms but for that you can check the 390 ownership thread to get a general idea and feed back and do quote someone, trust me its the best way to get a quick response.
Lastly there is a comprehensive pdi and pre purchase checklist on 390 thread that applies to you. Check it out. And as for acessories try the acessories thread for riding gear and helmet thread for head gear. Don't get mixed up in the powerparts debacle man, the bike is perfect the way it is. Hope this helps. Cheers 😊

The engine structure is a little diffrent but you'll have to look carefully. The frame will be slimmer, the speed will be low, exhaust note will be little shrill (treblely) and bike will appear a bit smaller. But why do you want to know? The 125duke is not available in India and as such cannot be imported through propper channel.

anyone here experience the JG173 code on their dukes?
it usually appears on my duke before or after the reday to use comes during start or during idle...
the panel goes black for max of 5 seconds and the JG173 code appears.. i also notice the clock resets to 1:00 after the JG 173 appears.

Your battery has some fault. Get it replaced under warranty.

                            All suggestions appreciated.

                            1. I bought mine from KTM Bund Garden, The guys over there are very professional & passionate to sell these bikes. They provide good support. I went there with cash & the guys over there explained to me everything. Paid the cash & got the paper work done within 15minutes. They had the stock ready and asked me to choose between 3 bikes. I chose the one with the least numbers on the ODO. They were ready to deliver it on the spot on temporary registration. But I wanted it 2 days after. The next day I get a call from the KTM RTO guy saying that my bike is registered with XXXX number. I was really impressed by their pace.

2.Normal Insurance will cover the entire bike, So even if it gets stolen you will get paid. Always lock the handle and cover the bike to avoid attention. I wouldn't rely on these fancy Anti Theft Devices.

                            3. It will cost around Rs 145,000 on-road. I asked for discounts but I didn't really get any :P.

                            4. I don't really have any idea. but do buy a strong & reliable helmet

                            5. I'm pretty sure he will let you choose the bike. So make sure you switch on the digital display on every bike and check for the ODO reading , Make sure it is below 30kms. Also make sure that the bike does not have any scratches or any paint chips. While getting the delivery make sure the Engine oil , Break oil levels are optimum. Just take it for short spin to check if everything is fine, Make sure you collect your Tax Receipt, Registration receipt,Insurance & the booklet while taking the delivery.

Be cautious during the first 1000kms , Always start the bike and let it idle for 2-3 minutes before you take it for a spin. Keep it below 60kmph & do not cross 7500RPM. Avoid long trips but if you are very impatient take breaks every 30 minutes so that the bike cools down and of course do not cross 60 kmph.
