    Replies as below -

    1. Happens with me as well, can't do much about it. Best option is to dry with a cloth or try and block the gap. Its been 10500 kms and I have never even checked after riding in rain.

    2. Not sure as i own a 2015 model.

    3. Any type of electrical modifications or changes will void warranty. My svc does not even change the bulb even if its oem specifications. However, the adapter should be plug and play so just remember to disconnect it before going to svc.

Also, can you post the picture of the tools in your toolkit? 😀

Sure, will provide the photo tomorrow though, no access to the bike right now.

In 2nd gear during the first 16km of my ride today I experienced engine lugging at speeds of even 15kph; didnt notice the RPM. So below what RPM should I change to 1st gear from 2nd? Is this minimum down shift RPM applicable for all gears?

Regarding upshift I'll try to stick to 4000-5000rpm.

Hi guys. A newbie here. I am planning to buy a Duke 200. Just want to know about the long term reliability and maintenance issues in the Duke 200. And if anyone has 2016 model, whats their review on the new model based on the changes KTM made in 2016 model?? Thank you in advance guys.

I got my new duke today. Have a couple of questions:

          1) Rain seeps through the gap between rider and pillion seat and gets collected on the battery. I'm worried that there is chance of short-circuit of battery terminals, although its looks unlikely but still there is a possibility. Its normal in the KTM's.

          2) I can't seem to locate the 14-pin molex connector which is used to install the hazard light adaptor. I tried looking for it under the pillion seat. Can any 2016 model owners share the connector location? Look behind the fuse box located under the pillion seat. Its tucked away and you need to remove the fuse box to get it.

          3) Does the installation of above hazard light adaptor affect the bike warranty? Warranty isn't affected as long as it's plug and play. The SVC guys are just lazy, so they scare people with warranty voiding tactics.

          Thanks!

I don't have that in mine. Which year Duke do you have?

That's the tool used for adjusting the suspension. I don't have it as well and mine is 2015 ktm duke. I was looking for this tool as i read its provided with the ktm toolkit.

Mine is 2016 model. That tool is called hook spanner. Will see if I can determine its size.

Am glad you noticed the water seepage. Very few even notice it. It happens on my bike too.
The only thing I have done is to keep a cloth folded up near the battery area so that it soaks up the seepage. I park my bike in a covered space mostly, the seepage happens during rides or at times when i dont park in a covered space.. and of course during a water wash.
It's going to be close to two years now and I haven't had any short or battery issues.. even the battery terminals look good.
You could try adding a bit of foam+cover to the seats to close the gap.
Also can you look closely, is there a noticeable gap at the left edge ? That's where I see a significant cap and that's where the water seems to be entering from.

The molex connector will be tucked behind near the brake light area. It is not visible by simply removing the seat, you might have to tug/wiggle the wire firm but gently to get the connector out. In some cases maybe even remove the fuse box/side panel to get easier access to get it out of its hiding place.

Sweet.. you guys are getting the rear suspension adjustment tool. Did not get that with my 2014 model, though the Rc's during that period came with it.

It always came with the RC series (since late 2014).
And probably the 2016 duke also gets it.. or he was given the rc's toolkit the rest of the stuff is same across both the rc & duke

Advice you to do the same if you are too annoyed by the sound.

Lubing/servicing the chain doesn't help in eliminating the sound. It just suppresses it for a while and then the sounds reappears.

Thanks for the note but i just covered 1700 Kms should i change my chain & sprocket??

No way. 1700 kms is too low for a chain sprocket change. Clean, Adjust and lube your chain, that should reduce the sound. Go to the svc and ask them to do it if you can't adjust, take the lube with you.

And chain sprockets can last much longer with proper maintenance.

Do as Vishal said. Plus when those guys are adjusting the slack... Learn how to do it.. So that you need not run to them everytime.

There is gap is not uniform and is around 2mm at max at some places. The seat seems to have a design flaw, the water will get stagnated at that joint and will definitely seep through even if there is no gap. Anyways this is not of major concern as of now.

During PDI I had checked my clutch freeplay by observing the clutch lever free movement before I feel the load on the cable. That free movement was around 3-4mm. But today I noticed that during that free movement of the lever, the linkage on the engine moves too. Does the clutch freeplay mean that there should not be any linkage movement at all? Linkage is marked in the photo.

                                Hello,

Recently I noticed that when bike gets hot ( after touching the second last point of the second half of temperature indicator ), the RPM starts to idle at 2K-2.5K continuously till it cools down a bit. What could be the reason ? Bike is 22k old now.

Also please let me know what replacement/adjustment I can expect in the next service which is after 3 months . ( Only Chain set is replaced till date @ 17 K , apart from the obvious Oil/filters etc. in regular services ).

                                Thanks.
