Those guys are trying to scam you, don't go for that. Clarify if that's exactly what they're saying, if they're charging labour unnecessarily shoot a mail to KTM about it

Well, the ktm engineer is supposed to be the svc this coming week to check my rear suspension issue. Will have to manage without a mirror somehow till then.

some turds do try and include the labor cost when you buy just the spare. for example, it happened to me the first time.. i wanted to pick up a gear lever as a spare and that guy at billing included labor in it ! I had a good rapport with them and they told me that they do this to discourage over the counter spare sales. It was sorted out the next couple of times and i dint push further because they give me most of the common spares(without charging for labor) and also fix minor stuff up for free.
I even had a mirror replaced once (iirc at one of the regular services) and there wasn't any extra charge for it. just the paid service charge.
So yes, if they seem unreasonable, then definitely shoot an email to bajaj customer care and ktm. ask them to give in writing (reply to your email) that they will not sell spares over the counter. you might also want to quote this in your email Order Against 14 Car Makers: CCI Again Shows Its Might! - Anti-trust/Competition Law - India

don't have high hopes on these so called 'engineers'. they are just as unscrupulous as the svc itself and they work hand in hand with a common goal i.e. try to avoid warranty claims and milk the customer of his money
i find my service advisor much better than the monkey engineer who once came to take a look at my bike. He tried to play off the issue, and then i let him know a bit of what little i know about motorcycles. Well, now he thinks twice before saying anything to me.
if i find them giving crappy reasons then i simply ask them to put that in writing and i will also put it down in email to bajaj/ktm.. that gets them on their feet and issues are quickly taken care of.
being polite is the key. i've seen some customers go berserk at the svc and their issues take forever to be fixed.

Recently I got an accelerator cable over counter (cable got cut out of no where on road ) they dint charge me any labour charges just the part price i.e ₹112

I also picked up a bottle of abro FI cleaner an year ago and just use it before giving bike for service.. Haven't noticed any difference on using it and I continue to use just to empty out the bottle.
My recommendation is you try adon p (usually sold at IOC bunks) or system g(sold at bharat petroleum or online at Roger motors). Use them at recommended dose of 1ml per litre of fuel.
            Hi Sid,

So these additives sort out the cleaning of fuel injector's.

Is there any additive which can be used on our bike to clean the carbon build-up over the piston head...?

Upon researching I found out that the additive containing PEA [Polyether Amine] is useful in cleaning the carbon deposits away. Do you use any such additives to clean the engine too..?

they also claim to clean the intake valve and carbon build up. i stick to adon p or system g mostly because i like the throttle response and the crispiness.
i wouldn't be too worried about piston head deposits ..especially at this mileage(23k km). these bikes run a high compression, high temps with more precise fueling (thanks to ecu/fi) and i think carbon build up is low (unless you use bad quality fuel). i have seen some 390's and 200's pistons and they had very minimal deposits.
so do not break your head, and just use regular fuel (with an additive if you fancy one..i've given my personal feedback on a couple)

Is the duke vibration free machine? I can feel the vibrations across all RPMs at handlebar, fuel tank and foot pegs. I'm used to the vibrations but still if they can be eliminated/reduced then nothing like it.

I had it too, all it needed was chain lube and slack adjustment, became a lot smoother for me.
For some reason sometimes it feels more, sometimes less, probably psychological🙄

I've done a little bit of random stuff to help with vibes.
If you're particular about vibrations, I had ordered some handlebar grips a while ago which feels really nice. Now I don't feel any vibrations in handlebar, it really smoothened it out.
I was planning to post a detailed review of it, but exams and stuff going on, so didn't really get around to it, will do it soon.

As for footpegs, this sounds stupid I know, but I use a pair of thick soled shoes, through which you barely feel vibes.
I've done both of these, and now I barely feel any vibes. Theoretically these are minor changes, but practically they make a huge difference, enhances bike satisfaction like crazy

I maintain the chain religiously. Slack is also fine.

Grips are stock, but vibrations can be felt even through gloves.

I recently purchased Oraza boots which have a thick sole, reduces the sensitiveness to vibration but some amount of vibration can be felt.

What about the tank? Do you feel vibrations on your thighs?

Nope I don't feel anything on the tank, but I have an RC, so maybe body positioning has something to do with it. The bike has some essential level of vibes you cannot do apart with, unfortunately

                        • Issue & fix

I don't know if someone else has posted it before. Please ignore it if someone already has.

                          1) I rode my duke for a few kms after the low fuel warning. Since then the engine power drastically dropped and a khass sound started to appear when I turn on the ignition. After visiting the SVC, they told me that the issue was due to air in the fuel pump/pipe. After replacement the issue was fixed.

Hope that someone finds it useful.

                          2)
I got my bike serviced a few days ago(3rd free service). After the service, the bike was way too smooth to ride but just after 3 days the bike is not smooth at all. I thought that I was just being paranoid so I asked one of my friend to drive it, he too felt the same and both of us felt vibes from the front wheel (Not the normal vibes, it's just as if something is wrong with the alignment of the front wheel).

P.S: I've been using motul 7100 as engine oil. Haven't missed even a single service and just checked the engine oil level (It's above the recommended level. Would that be a problem?)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Mine was a 6 holed rear sprocket set.. It was around 3500/- for the whole set.
If it's 4 holed rear sprocket set, it's around 2500/-.
I think this amount included labour also.
