You are right at that. That 200kms mark is the one widely suggested., unfortunately I was unable to do that... So, did 500kms odo and had the first service. I have to take my bike from my town to b'lore prob in a month and i'll hit 1.5k with that run, and planning to change oil after that once more., and then with the service intervals.. If you change it as early as 250, then better ride 1000kms before one month and change it with first service., but if you think you can't reach 1k kms before 1month or 1st service due, have your first service between 750 and 250, i.e 500

Plan according to your riding style!!
Btw, neevarp -> praveen... that's me.., call me praveen bro!!
The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

In the manual, it states 750- 1000 kms or 30 days whichever is earlier. I just followed the 30 days rule. But atleast 200 km should be ridden for the first service. I did my first service at 430 km.

the battery could be the culprit bro! Have heard this issues in many bikes, mostly new ones. Let's see what your baby is up to.. Hope for the best!!

Thanks bro! Yeah, this video was way before 1st service and you don't need to be told of the downshifts of a new bike!!

Folks are you all still in run-in? Can some one post the real world performance of CBR150?

Found this on the internet, can anyone justify this with their experience on CBR150

Folks, I am not comparing with any bike here, I just want you to look at the performance figures quoted for CBR150 alone and provide your feedback pls.

As per that comparo, a mileage of 67 kmpl will not be even claimed by Honda itself!:-S

Bro, its happy and okay to even compare bikes, as long as it stays as a 'healthy' 'conversation'... I personally feel that the brand war between 150R and its said competitor was not as furious as like in the case of NS and duke or other bikes, owing to the low VFM of 150R !!
Coming to the review part, the claimed figures are making me go ROFL!!!
I have personally never ridden a R15 but, I have seen the well claimed topspeed of R15 is 142kmph or something, while the review quotes ~131kmph. Also, with the case of 150R, even I can claim a topspeed of 134kmph, while the review claims a topspeed of 130kmph!

This quote is from our own R15 V2 thread:

Every R15 owner claims a timing of ~11seconds, and I claim the same for my Jade! So, the review goes into laugh once again!!!

Mileage...... the greatest question for every Indian, and the greatest comedy of that review... 53kmpl on a R15., I guess the owners will be so happy to hear it, and a 'stomach-paining' <am laughing a lot> 67.5kmpl on a 150R. Gosh! Just shift+delete the review., but wait... there is still two pages to go... let us see that too!!!

Handling is next... We all know that R15 is the benchmark of handling here in India., but wait... all reviews and even our own forum's review of 150R quoted that it is the most flickable bike even than a R15, but it not feels as planted as R15., and this review goes like this.. "you cannot throw it into corners as easily as the R15"... again something to laugh...

And the verdict..., hold on, am not gonna give any...
                      "R15 is bit dated"
and I'll be slaughtered online if I just post this line in R15's ownership thread, and these guys are happily claiming that!!
Looking in the review, initially it is said, "150R has to ridden revving it hard, and its a sports characteristic, but sadly no one is going to ride it in track, and so we don't need that" and in the final part, "150R is more economical and comfortable and this is not we look in a sports bike".... Am now asking, "Then what in the are hell these guys looking for???"

"R15 Vs. CBR150R" -- It'll be a never ending conversation and can for sure turn into a War!!

My opinion is that., both these bikes are almost the same, except for those grab-rails and kill-switch and some more... and when on road, "one can't beat another" ... Both the machines 'll go on head to head when tested, and so the final result lies with the rider.
So, love your ride, she'll love you back! and respect others too!!!

And for this review, I'll not say it is biased... Those who are sad and wants something to laugh at... am recommending you this!!! Am gonna read it again!!!

Bro.., switch to 720p mode and full screen, and when the video pauses for 99kmph, you can clearly see that odo at 387kms.
and that was with a pillion, and moreover, it was recorded just for fun and not for performance testing!! Maybe, i'll try recording one in a few days, as am already past 800kms odo.

Why blame it on Honda? It is not their recommendation. I have changed mine(250R's) as per the manual. I did not go early and i have no problem with my engine to date(8 months now). It is just every individual's choice to change oil whenever they feel like. If you stick to your manual's suggestion you will not lose anything.

They are referring to GPS tested speeds there which is pretty much accurate because the R15 does a 132.6(v1) kmph whereas the 150R does a 135kmph on GPS.
Anyone tried riding your bike in "economy" mode by keeping it around the 6-8k rpm mark for too long on the highways? If yes do report back ur mileage figures. I wouldnt be surprised if anyone quoted 50+kmpl then

Is mobile GPS okay to calculate the speed?? I really don't know if it is okay, and I would like to try it!!
