Yup Cleaner,i'm definietly gonna do that.So...you don't have interval service in between? Umm...I don't know why,may they got reason for that.Cuz in my SVC book oil change servicing and top-up servicing is like zig-zag one after another.Today i left my NS for 2nd servicing for periodically check, clean, adjust and oil topping but i insist them to change engine oil (bajaj dtsi oil) cuz running on same oil till 5k,i don't trust that, its just my instinct and i'm gonna do that even after i swap to SS and FS.Right now dtsi is doing fine, haven't create a problem as i do rev hard almost all the time and i love cornering a lot cuz i'm not into commute fashion and so far dtsi is doing great even with euro grip tyre i'm still riding, cornering as same as with mrf.Maybe its not so crappy as rumour.Got few problem like when down shifting gear its make loud thud noise and when down shifting gear sometime the pedal it got stuck for couple of second but now i'm used to the noise and while downshifting i just give a light touch and no problem of getting stuck pedal there too.People say it bcuz of dtsi oil so after third service going for SS and gonna analyze and will be giving feed back.

Wow....you must have feel great with that speed,i envy you cuz in my city there will be lots of speed breaker and in high-way traffic will be checking speed of every vehicle with their crappy speed meter.

This is the most embarrassing thing that I am posting.
Ok so I keep a wire number lock below my back seat to tie the helmet to back foot peg. (I know it won't stop my helmet from getting robbed but just a deterrent) . So today after reaching college I opened the back seat but the wore lock wasn't there I forgot it in my gym bag , so I locked the seat , tool the helmet with me and hurried away coz i was late for my exam . Then after exam everything seemed normal BUT when I reached my home parking the back seat was missing along with the toolkit which was attached to it. It might not have locked properly that hook like thing ..Anyways no point in searching on the highway . I ordered a new back seat Waiting time 8 days Cost 630-700.

pratiksgole hehehe, same happened with many members.
If you ride mostly solo, try making your ns single seater by removing those black horn shaped handles and covering the rear seat with plain metal sheet.
I don't have any photos but I saw a ns with this mod some time ago.it was looking fab.

Do you fill petrol from same bunk ??
Same has happened with me and once my bike gave just 20kmpl.
Try filling petrol from a reputed petrol pump.

Well on indore-bhopal highway, when i touched 170 in my ertiga, that was a really great experience, NS is a whole other story, loads of wind blast sometimes adds to the fun, and sometimes scares the hell out of you.

Did second free service..total cost was rs 146 which included rs90 for chain cleaning and rs56 for battery charging. oil was not changed as it was 2000 km old and engine and bike was butter smooth even before service....only problem was buzzing noise from front console area, they used double sided tape and now absolutely no noise....need to do my 3rd service after two months...

There was a similar noise from my bike also but I sorted it myself and used foam instead of double side tape.

Regarding the battery I had not recharged it once and my bike is more than 1 year old. Had no problem whatsoever and I have also installed after market minda trumpet horns without relay.

So i think yours should not discharge.

Did you made sure they checked the battery terminals with a voltage meter. .? If they did and it showed less than 12v, then your battery needed charging, BUT ITS HIGHLY UNLIKELY to happen in just 2 nd service, unless you drained battery by some Means.

There are a few for android. But my tracks is the best, its by google and has lots of settings for accuracy and recording interval and what not :beer:

And also i would like to clarify some member's claims about the inaccuracy of the speedometer. What i realized is that the speedo is pretty accurate, just a couple of kms off(read more) and not a large 8-10 kmph error, as some people suggested a while back.

• My jump to the bandwagon on a pre-worshipped steed!

This is a fairly long one!

So, I'm posting after a really long time... Not that I wasn't involved in biking or wasn't tracking xBhp. It's just that most of my queries got answered even before I posted those, in the form of replies for similar ones, by many of the good souls sharing their experiences in the forum (or should I just accept that I was pretty lazy in sharing mine!). Anyway...

Finally, sold off my 4-year-old trusty (not rusty) Red Pulsar 135 LS, for a better deal than what the market had to offer & acquired a used Pulsar 200NS (Black). The bike was in pretty good condition & the deal was straight-forward. I should say that I had referred to this thread, on & off ever since it was started by chintan. Back then (2012), I only had time enough for the city commutes and an occasional short ride to the outskirts, for which the 135 LS was more than up to the task. And it was my first taste of a 4-stroke, 4-valve engine in a puny avatar. The bike was a dream within the city, handled extremely well & was very wallet-friendly as well. At times, I used to eke out more than 60 km/lit, from the tiny performer! To aid handling, I also switched to Michelin Pilot Sporty & those performed well too! Yes, there were resonant vibrations at 5k rpm, but I didn't make much of it, as I was having a ball of a time, navigating through crowded & empty city roads alike. And when there was a demand, I gave the stick & she responded so well revving all the way to 10k revs. There ends the LS story and now that it's gone, let's focus on the 200NS then.

Getting my 3rd Pulsar (I used to ride the 1st gen 180 for a brief time period, before giving it away; years later, after the Apache 150, came the Pulsar 135 - funny that I have pro(re?)gressed during the years!), I was pretty aware that I'm marrying into a product with some issues, vibes (resonant or otherwise), engine compression loss, harshness in some thermal conditions, et al, so I pretty much expect a product that has these signature characteristics (come on, Bulleteers don't complain too much of bone-jarring rides, they revel in it as part of the experience) and if there are serious issues, I'm always prepared to wage my battles with the mechanics. One thing I wasn't worried about is - reliability. I am seriously at a loss, when most of the folks in this forum & elsewhere, only have praise for the Japanese big 4, when it comes to reliability. I find that hard to believe - I agree Honda is held at extremely good stead for making engines that are smooth & reliable; however, I'm pretty sure that modern day bikes made by Bajaj or TVS still do great (if not equally well as their Japanese peers). To add some perspective, the 1st gen 180 is still used in the family by a relative, is still as good as it was ever & can give quite a run & dodge to its peers. The 135 LS that I had, performed unfailingly & I had to give it away, as I didn't have enough space in our parking lot, with the NS & 3 other scooters jostling for space.

Got the NS from the seller on 1st Mar, took it to the ASS on the 3rd morning; it had 17500 on the odo. Had the engine oil replaced to Motul 7100 20W50 (they had it in the Svc. center for the Dukes); replaced the spark plugs & then got the service & chain spray done. I guess it'll take some break-in time for a fully synthetic oil like the 7100. The bike revs cleanly, has a linear-build up of power & generally doesn't surprise me with anything unusual. The only major change I felt is: especially coming from the 135 LS, the 200's handling felt like a boat - not so nimble. But I think, it is more of getting used to the way it handles & then getting the most of it. Perhaps, the uneven wear of tyres of a pre-owned bike is also at play. Well, they can be sorted anyway. I've got this bike with the purpose of munching miles on the highway, until we get an adequately good selection of affordable, larger capacity bikes (read those as CS/SS400, CBR500 and the ones that follow) to choose from, once they are launched. Yes, the touring bug has bit me & with more and more riders shedding their inhibitions & taking to the roads, I'd like to have my share of fun too!

I'd like some help on an issue that I face with the bike - I don't face any engine vibes, nor have I any noteworthy vibes on the headlamp assembly / fairing etc., however, there is a roaring noise which crescendos from 3k to 5k (or more) revs & I hear it from beneath the tank. When I rev the bike on standstill & parked on the center stand, I hear nothing at all. This increases with speed (and I can feel it, like something rubs inside, kind of drag inducing sensation) and is akin to the induction roar, and dies down on braking & reducing the speed - any idea what it might be? Some have suggested that it could be the radiator fan housing & the ASS mechanic says that the chain is tight (and kept that way during service) & the consequent slack induced after some riding would reduce it; however, I'm not buying it. It clearly emanates from the tank assembly (or underneath it). Would installing rubber grommets on the bolt areas help? I know that there are numerous posts on vibes & stuff, but I guess since mine's NOT from the engine, but from the bike itself, am at a dilemma if it could be some resonance on the overall set-up & if bolts need to be tightened.

The rides have been pretty good & nothing major to be shared. I hope to share a lot more, after I start riding it more; especially the long ones. I've benefited immensely from forums like this & thanks to all the members that have shared a lot of information, from time to time.

Replaced a whole bunch of parts incl, brake pads, cables, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, decarbonised the head and did a valve adjusting job. Running on Motul 5100, the bike feels great now. No mods planned, and no mods have been done as of now.

Decarbonizing at 18k is way too earlier, but then if headwork is done, it's a good idea to do decarb necessary, but it just adds to unnecessary bills. Just my two cents.
