Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Whoa! 75k for a slipon? I assumed it was full system exhaust! Wonder how much would that cost :POriginally posted by Nikhil Deshpande View PostIts just a slip on silencer- nothing needs to be done- it already Includes specially tuned engine mapping
For that price, I think atleast 1-2 hp bump can be expectedOriginally posted by prateek2210 View PostNo offense, but imo just a slipon wont give any bump. I hope you have gone through threads here regarding these.
As far as sound is concerned, yes that will definately change.
Dyno curves should be available online. Moreover, if it can improve low end rideability it will be good. But honestly no one can justify the price!
EDIT : Didnt see the 96k post

It does not include any special engine mapping don't be misled if it did you would have a small ECU which you will connect with your bike, I'm based in Philippines and I have friends who bought orignal akra as well. it does not increase the "TOP" hp to +5 may be in the mid it does but it does not increase the maximum hp by 5, at most maybe it increased the hp by +2(again Im pertaining to the maximum hp)Originally posted by Nikhil Deshpande View PostIncludes specially tuned engine mapping -no need for a remap - just put it on let it idle for a few minutes turn it off, start it up - done
To answer some question guys akra does not improve low end rideability o
The no 1 performance MOD for the duke is not a pipe not a filter, BUT Powertronics by Race dyanamics its amazing increase hp, more smother bike and improved fuel efficiency. Best of all its pretty cheap.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Get the facts right. A slipon wont givd a 5 hp increase. I have a gpr slipon on my bike. I think it jyst increases the low end power bg a small margin. That's it. Also shelling out that huge an amount is not worth it. Why didn't you go for arrow or some other brand?. Also there is no such thing as engine mapping coming with a slipon. What is this? Some kind of sorcery?

Buddy, I hope you did your research before getting the slip-on. Any remap needs a connection to the ECU, how do you think just putting a slip-on will actually load a different engine map than the one which is in use currently by the bikes ECU? Better contact the person you got it from and get more details, because without the remap, its just as good as any other low budget after market silencer.Originally posted by Nikhil Deshpande View PostIncludes specially tuned engine mapping -no need for a remap - just put it on let it idle for a few minutes turn it off, start it up - done

you just got ripped bro, no such magic happens. return it and get your money back if that's still an option.Originally posted by Nikhil Deshpande View PostIncludes specially tuned engine mapping -no need for a remap - just put it on let it idle for a few minutes turn it off, start it up - done

Hi Amit
My akra and k&n high flow air filter are still siting in the box mate will install in Jan when I will be in India it from a ktm Pune sc ,
I agree it needs a remap form what i have read on other forums --reset the ECU and installed the Akrapovic map and the change is big. Now not a huge gain in HP but I can't believe how smooth and linear the power is now. It pulls strong from bottom right through to redline, also now no jerking at low revs and the flat spot I had at around 8000rpm is totally gone.

Yeah I was wondering about that. I figured it came with a cd with computer programs for remap. But without the remap be it akrapovic or gpr they are no better than any other aftermarket exhaust currently in the market. In fact I think he could have saved money by buying a gpr exhaust. Its way cheaper. I just had a chat with a guy using one and he says he got it for 16k post discount with fitting minus a remap.
