          Does TCI run with the coil disconnected, i mean only the battery ??

          Does the change of the ignition coil necessary ??

          I asked the mech about the rpm meter thing today, he said one wire will go to the battery, and other one will go to the ignition coil, and you are done.
          Same housing can be used too.
          Giving a lot to a fiero.

            Nano, that sounds good.. the Uni tacho costs 600rs it seems & reg the housing, how was it done, does the tacho from OEM comes with housing or should we do some jugaad from else where ??

              Guys, what's with the OEM prices

              The Front schoker springs in TVS ASC costs 400rs each & the same springs locally made which can be found in normal auto shops is 80Rs each & that is 5 times the price for OEM

              No wonder ASC people are looting us

              The local ones in bangalore are made from NV agencies & my mech says it can be a good replacement since the OEM Costs are just too high

                TCI had been used by TVS from the Apache 150....if you know how Apache150 is ,then no need for any clarification...coming to your point,TCI will run of the stator coils,(Gixxer confirmed and I once did start a Apache 150 without battery)and TCI Ignition Coil is totally different from the CDI coil.....
                So a TCI conversion on Fiero requires TCI module,+TCI Ignition Coil.....The stock Pulse coil will suffice .

                        TCI/IDI is an Inductive discharge Ignition where the energy stored in the Ignition coil primary winding Inductance,... is discharged at the proper time to produce the spark.In CDI the available voltage of 200 to 300Volts AC(from stator coil) is rectified and stored in a capacitor to be discharged at the proper time.Alternatively If there is a DC supply available in the form of Battery,then it is used to generate 200 to 300 V through a step up switching circuit and then stored in a cap., to fire the Spark plug.

                                yes satish, he suggested to check price from NV agencies.

                                And by the way I checked for tacho near my house, it seems single isn't available any & the full classic pulsar metre assembly costs more than 1k

                                have you got any idea of fitting the Uni's tacho ? If yes then lets go ahead on that one what say ?
