@Gixxer - Saar, get Abhi's bike fixed or fix him properly . He always cribs on something or the other. The other day he went n told the mech (mech suggested by u) to make the bike rich as its running super lean. And now he cribs saying mileage has went down

@Abhi - Also try getting rid of the 14T front sprocket. That will definitely help you cruising on clear roads but in city limits you will be revving more.
Hahhha yeah man!!!! Abhi is like that and he's worried about even the smallest of things,he keeps his bike so damn clean that, it could give others a complex and yet says that i keep my bike looking like new!!
He's obsessed about keeping his bike stock!! the only other guy on this thread equally obsessed about it,is Sarvajit .They take this obsession to a new high !!!! Now i am practically shocked at the thought of Sarvajit going for a p135 switchgear!!! It took me days to recover from thst shock!!
Now imagine both of them together going to the same mech either the mech will get his brains fried or he'll become a very rich man shortly by procuring them rare fiero parts!!!!

Thanks for the pic, however i would love to ride with this tyre once before taking the final decision.
and how much did the M35/Pilot combo cost ?

      @ gixxer

What about the front footrest ?
the main idea is to push it backwards, and maybe higher right ?
what to do with that ?
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

Come down to Bangalore. Not sure of the M35 price, my present front tyre IRC is totally bald, will replace it with M35, the M35 I have used previously twice.
I paid 1950 for the pilot without tube.

Bro,front footrest of the RTR is the rear sets. The existing one of your bike will be removed.
Try and take a look at the pic of my bike you'll understand a bit.Although the left side isn't visible on any of the pics,i'm sure you'll get some idea from it.

Either go for the RTR rear sets or get one fabricated with steel like mine and put the gear and rear brake levers of the RTR.

Hmm.. atleast they do modifications in ASC, that is a good job & not like other Dumb ASC's who says that If the self needs to work flawlessly we will need to ride scotty atleast 25kms a day

Shree, I was cribbing about mileage being less only because my bike was running lean, How does it feel to have super lean running bike returning 37, 38kmpl mileage

Reg 14t sprocket, I will have to seriously try riding the bike with 13t once in Highway, I dont know if it is front button tyre I could not go beyond 100kmph on my bike yesterday in NICE Road.

Bike wobbles pretty bad beyond 90kmph in this tyre & this was not the case with normal front tyre which I had earlier

Gixxer - You have not seen my previous bike CBZ, I had done quite some External modifications & got my hands burnt, so this time dont want to do the same mistake, taking things at a time & secondly as I said earlier also don't know why but I have started liking weird looking Fiero's doom

You told me you got 44kmpl when running super lean. After mech making it rich you are getting 37kmpl. Now how does it become super lean.

Lei even in you CBZ it was wobbling like anything when u had the same CEAT. Thats the reason you changed to RIB tyre. BTW is your front suspension oil removed? Mech said he has put excess oil, right? That will definitely hamper handling.

@Gixxer - He had just put round headlight with 90/100w Philips after getting coil rewinded. Apart from that he had a 120 section tyre and he had used K&N for sometime. No big mods to say he burnt his hand

                    1. I have not checked the spark plug reading yet after mech made it rich, & for records sake I got 43kmpl this time with moderate ripping in NICE Road & Choatic traffic in Chord road yesterday

                    2. I know, i am finding the button type trye @ up front is Culprit, 13t will be tried only after I get my Carb tuning right

                    3. Yes i agree with you, button type tyre should be the culprit and No I have not yet got removed the excess oil since I could not get time Until now.

                    4. That is after you know me, before that I had tried several others, like 15"rim with Eliminator tyre & stickering & some other things while I was in college

                    5. I knew you won't agree

But one thing, with the same button type tyre I can cruise @ 80kmph & no issues in it, only after 85, 90kmph it starts to wobble bad..

I would say, get the tuning and do mileage check with stock sprocket.

Weird is indeed the right word to describe the fiero doom!!

From what you're saying,it looks like you experienced a tank-slapper.That is ,the front end starts to oscillate from side to side while the front fork starts feeling like it's made of rubber right?

That happens because of quite a few things.

                        1. Lack of alignment(which isn't the case with your bike as it doesn't wobble while cornering)

                        2. Lack of weight on the front end when hitting higher speeds and if the front end hits a slight bump on the road or unevenness on the road. The movement when because of lack of weight being on the front end TO CORRECT IT ,or if the handle wasn't held tightly,it becomes a continuous oscillation/tank slapper kindish.

I have experienced the same on NICE road speed checks when it wasn't opened yet for traffic.I experienced it on one run of 100 kmph and it wasn't there on the return run when i hit 120 on the speedo.

The bike's engine was stock and the gearing was stock too ,the handle used at that time was the ACE handle. So correction has to be made immediately when the front end hits unevenness of the road.

Another thing is ,once it starts oscillating like that it won't stop till the speed comes down.

                        • What do you guys think? Does the Suzuki Fiero have to have a front disc brake? i seriously feel it has weak undersized front drum brakes. Has anyone installed a rear disc? i've seen one in bangalore with front and rear. the owner claimed the bike to be much heavier with discs

Disc brake is a must for any bike.Yes it will increase the weight of the bike a bit but it won't be felt as it will be close to the wheel axis.
