today i was riding in heavy traffic, the alternator was rotating quite slower, so the fan fins were visibly moving.
one guy seated on the p135 LS asked "why have you attached the fan over the engine ?"
i said to keep the engine cool.
he was like, Does the FAN really cool down the engine ?
i replied, FAN's can lift up helicopters bro, this is just a motorcycle.
he was like
ok ok. and he left.
i couldn't stop laughing the next 10 kms.

set the bike in neutral while stationary, and revv it very slightly (above idling) , now hold the clutch entirely pulled and shift to first gear, your bike should not shift forward even slightly with the gear swap, if it does so, you need to change the clutch plates.
or you can try one more thing, ride at 35 ~ 40 kmph, and wack the throttle hard, if the bike makes sound but still the pull isn't as it should be (not syncing with the sound), it means your clutch needs a replacement.
if you still cannot conclude, try to wheelie, if unsuccessful after a number of attempts, your clutch needs a replacement.
please note :- try the last method at your own risk.

HELP Guys,
I did replace the clutch cable ... kept the old one as a back-up. The mech says the clutch plates are just fine. It's fine alright ... that is while riding single. As soon as I put a heavy (approx 70 - 80 plus Kgs) pilion, the bike starts to groan... lacks it's usual spirit ... with a shameful pickup, specially initially. I wonder what could be wrong... could my rear shocks be giving problems? do I need to adjust it to a higher (harder) position? or could it be something else?Comment

Any direct fit available ?Both of you forget the first method and try out the whacking of the throttle method and see whether the bike responds as it used to.Needlessly don't go around changing the clutch plates,first find out what's causing the lack of performance.Most of the time it would be something to do with the carb setting,so try that out first and then go to checking the clutch plates.Originally posted by chief ashman View Post
