It seriously is a no-brainer isn't it? the big-bore mod.I mean which bike can take such serious upgrades?? That's why those "who are in the know" even today are trying to find decent fieros Just speak to anyone in the racing line or even a local mech. The kinda respect this bike has is amazing!
My place is nearby,3kms from his garage, let me know when you're gonna get her serviced.

Yeah,if possible we'll ask Abhi to come as well and he's got a stock bike with the exact gearing as our bikes(14teeth GB).So it'll be fun comparing notes.

        • well, it seems everyone are busy now-a-days.
I didn't see chief here from ages.

Why is that we only talk about issues when it comes to our bike ?
I still have to sort my clutch issue, installing an RTR's bell will be a problem as the cover won't fit then.

I am thinking of tighter springs, will use it for some days, if in case the tightened springs are too much of a load on the palm, might think of hydraulicking the clutch too.
Well, all this can happen when i have enough money and time.

Falling short of both of these currently.
I guess all are thinking for going big bore.
Don't forget 0.5mm of dip in the head to stay safe.

                • Hey, you tell me...

Any plans for your bike ??
Have you thought of putting up a p220's piston ??
Do something radical, newbies like me would learn from it.

My thinking is that you need stock alloy clutch plates, which last longer and try out the stronger springs too.It might solve it all together.

Firstly, you're no newbie buddy.Secondly there are good knowledgeable people here in bangalore to help me out.I've learn't a lot from ZEN folks about our bikes.

Coming to my bike, she's gonna get a bigger 30mm header-pipe next and once that's done. There will be no further performance modifications till this bore lasts.I am not a big fan of K&N.So i've done whatever i thought was needed.

Regarding the p220 piston, that would make a huge difference. It would become similar to a RTR160 in bore stroke config. But doing that would cost me 2k more, instead i'll put a RTR180 bore/head once this bore gets worn out.

                    • The DIRT in my carb which i found on draining my fuel that day was because of K&N.

I did use it for testing and stuff (when other mods were getting done).
it was hardly 5~8 km ride with K&N and it sucked in enough dirt to settle in the carb.
Neither did i feel that the response was good, in fact stock air filter seemed more punchy.
After that experience even i am against K&N.

well, keeping that aside, i believe we (you and me) should go for rtr 180's TPS.
I don't feel the need of it, but its sad to see the input sockets on the TCI going waste.
It might help in better fuel mappings.

I have been collecting money for new rubber (either bridgestone or michellin) from almost a year, haven't saved enough yet.
Once i get new rubber, I'll be able to explore full limits of the new seating position as well as the power. In rains it feels amazingly good to handle already.

Even i was thinking of the same, i asked my mech, he said sourcing it will be difficult but I'll be able to find the alloy clutch plates for 1700 bucks.
                      Will give it a shot.

I even have to sort out my oil drinking issue, even after replacing the oil seal behind the GB sprocket. I can still see drops of oil leaking from the side stand area.

                      I hardly ride now-a-days.
I use my bike only for 2 reasons.
either to go swimming, or to play pool.
Mostly i have more than 2 friends to go to play pool, so bike still stays at home.

I've hardly ridden for 500 kms in last 2 months, xbhp biking buddies like Vikas, Vishal and Rakesh mostly plan rides on saturday, i am tied up with practicals and college so can't even join them.

thinking of going to Lavasa next Sunday, lets see.

Well K&N could be the reason, but more than that,it needs regular maintenance, even then it will cause cylinder warp and rings failure. It reduces engine life for sure at the least.

Regarding TPS,it might be a add-on,but none of the guys here are using it.Bprags and Mash for example on our thread. This TCI modification was retrofitted on fieros, basically for racing/rally purposes, when the Apache150 came out.The main reason was the tuning potential it had,as it doesn't have a rev-limiter.So from a long time it's been retrofitted and used without TPS.But yes it wouldn't hurt if TPS is added on.

Try sourcing the alloy stock clutch plates,i'll get you the name of the brand if you want it.

How much oil is being lost? That is have you been topping up regularly?

The riding with low handle bar and rear-sets on a fiero is a different thing!! A small modification makes it better than any of the current bikes with conventional chassis.I mean ,guys should ride one on a twisty to know what exactly it does.Fiero has a rigid chassis set up,then again with hard suspension and it's very low weight. It really becomes like a race prepped bike.I really enjoy riding this bike ,than any other bike i've ridden so far.

                        • My 50/60 Normal HL Bulb went kaput some days back, Apparently both High & low beam was trying to power & Conked off, Now I am running on Osram 35W Halogen which I had in stock from my CBZ time, On Fx doom the osram feels better in Lower revvs, Light emmited is much whiter & feels good, Don't know how much of a difference it makes in high revvs..

Another 300kms to go for service, thank god I don't need to go hunting for Gulf Pride 20W40 as the shop near my house got his gulf stock recently

The Stock Fiero Rim & CO tuning is yet pending
