thnx a ton dude!! here in Pune, i had inquired about this topic with them, and said that it can be done.. i then went and spoke to the manager of my ASS, and said that he has fitted the rtr180 setup onto the Victor GLX models and also many Fiero F2s as well.. He said that the customers have no complaints wat so ever.. and i that i have the advantage of having the chain cover which would help protecting the chain for a long time and hence an increase in life unlike the Rtr's... I asked him whether the classic fieros were fitted with this setup, and said no...Originally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostIt'll fit dude. But be prepared to buy a 15 teeth GB of the RX100, or RX135 from spares shop.
In case you don't like the short gearing later.
Why ? RTR 180= 14/46 .That means 3 teeth at rear more than stock,so if you buy a 15 teeth GB later,it'll bring it to stock gearing. If you don't like it that is.
like i said, its time for some CHANGE, and this may be the first step...later i would put the RTR180 head... dude can u tell me the mods required(in short) to increase the cc to 180 or equivalent... otherwise i will have to go through the previous pages which would take a lot of time!!!

My belief is no vehicle in Indian market is worth the full price of new ones..Originally posted by MaSh View PostWhy do you say that? BTW, Fiero goes no where.
That sounds promising. What if I go for a new one then? I am sure to keep it for over 4 years.
so I went in for a good pre-owned one...However you can buy a new one since this is one bike you never regret buying anytime..it is approx.,85 K on road and 2 to 3 months waiting....The white ZMA-R has killer looks..and safe for night driving.
FE will be 33 city and 43 highway...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Yep it was a 195cc setup, but unreliable. The 185 was better, but the RTR180 setup is the best.Originally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostYeah i had heard that he works on JCB machines. Thanks,i'll meet him sometime,to pick his brains.
Ok,if it was ZMA piston, then the cc was 195.
By the way, since the carb upgrade, bike feels very free revving and refined since the last time you tried it out.
So finally are you happy with the setup?

Yeah finally the big-bore modification's performance is being felt.Originally posted by bprags View PostYep it was a 195cc setup, but unreliable. The 185 was better, but the RTR180 setup is the best.

Next thing is the header pipe which rajesh has indicated should be ready by this weekend.Once that's done,i'll leave it at that,as far as performance modifications are concerned.I was at Rajesh's new garage the other day, looks very good, with lot of room and he's planning to make it like a regular ASS workshop area.

Think about the R15 too.ZMA is a reliable bike ,so it shouldn't be much of a worry buying a used one.Originally posted by MaSh View PostYes Karizma R, if that is the one without the full fairing, is looking like the best bike in the market. Keeping my eyes and ears open for a good piece. What are the things to look out for while buying a pre worshiped Karizma? What is the going rate for a used one?
Good decision!Originally posted by MaSh View PostBTW, Fiero goes no where.
no matter which bike you buy, keep the fiero,it makes no sense to sell one.
New ZMA is a good option too,but i think you'll get a decent used R15 for it's price. So go for a used bike for now,ZMA being air cooled bike, there won't be too much cost in restoring one either.Originally posted by MaSh View PostThat sounds promising. get the RTR sprocket done and once you get bitten by the modification bug,we'll help you out.
The things needed:
1. RTR bore kit
2. Cam chain tensioner
3. Get the fiero's head matched to that of the RTR bore 62.5mm.( simple lathe work)
4. Since you prefer torque and acceleration, you can keep the stock 26mm carb,as putting a 29mm carb will increase top-end.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

Oh, you have been there, cool, I had been there yesterday evening, just to checkout the garage status, the place is bloody awesome, plenty of space to park vehicles and all. The only prob for me is that it is toooooooo farOriginally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostYeah finally the big-bore modification's performance is being felt.

@MaSh: I say that since you will eventually lose interest in the Fiero if you get a ZMA. Similar stance, similar torque delivery, especially considering yours has a big bore kit strapped on too.
However, if you get the R15, you will enjoy the different 'feel' of riding both the bikes.
New or 2nd is upto your budget-both will be pretty good even if pre owned. But you know the feeling of taking a brand new machine out of the showroom is priceless.
I say, 11 years is long enough. Add the sold cash&go for a new bike-you&wifey will love it.
@tintin708: Inspite of the closed chain, you will need to oil the chain frequently as RTRs have O ring type chains unlike Fieros with D ring chains. The former requiring lubing& maintenance at regular intervals.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Makes lot of sense too dude. When it's time to change the bore, why go back for the costlier-hard-to-find stock bore, when a 180 bore kit can be got for less!!Originally posted by tintin708 View Postya dude, its been 8 yrs and i haven't yet done any mods from my side!!! thts a shame...!!!! i would definetly go for the Big Bore rtr180 setup...

Yeah,i had been there before too on my way,but the garage wasn't open yet.So by looking from outside i had thought it might be better than the last place. But when i saw the room inside i was surprised.Looks like a decent set-up to service his main customers, the rally bikes that is.He's gonna get busy for sure ,i just hope he'll not let the quality of service drop, because as you know at his previous place the service was very good, with him alone working on the modified bikes.Originally posted by bprags View PostOh, you have been there, cool, I had been there yesterday evening, just to checkout the garage status, the place is bloody awesome, plenty of space to park vehicles and all. From your workplace it might be far yeah, but he does a good job and it's hard to find such knowledgeable mechs.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

Well, I have waited for close to two months to get my bike serviced from him, so there is no way I am letting any one else service my bike, he has been servicing it since 2006.Originally posted by gixxer_junkie_m View PostYeah,i had been there before too on my way,but the garage wasn't open yet.So by looking from outside i had thought it might be better than the last place. But when i saw the room inside i was surprised.Looks like a decent set-up to service his main customers, the rally bikes that is.He's gonna get busy for sure ,i just hope he'll not let the quality of service drop, because as you know at his previous place the service was very good, with him alone working on the modified bikes.

Another friend of mine has a F2, after riding my bike, he too wants to go the 180 way

Bro,try selling your bike and see what kinda price is offered.Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@MaSh: I say that since you will eventually lose interest in the Fiero if you get a ZMA. Similar stance, similar torque delivery, especially considering yours has a big bore kit strapped on too.

You'll be lucky,if you could buy a pair of decent shirts with the money.
The dealers will say that the fiero is not in production and that it's a 11 year old write off.So park the vehicle and leave or accept the money we pay for it.
Were as if you try to buy a 150cc bike for such a price, you'll never get a bike which was as well cared of.
So it makes lot of sense to keep one, rather than sell it off for the price of peanuts. Besides, bikes are like girls
more the merrier
Why not make a harem of em!!

Then again as explained in the previous page, fiero and RTR are the only bikes in the sub-200 cc bracket which can take such modifications and tuning without breaking down.Fiero is a seriously over-engineered bike.Last edited by gixxer_junkie_m; 07-07-2011, 03:27 PM.Life begins, once you hit the power band !!
