@All - Now coming to Gixxer's Bike, I have driven his bike right from 26mm carb with missing days & also with 29mm & stock fiero intake manifold, now that he has put RTR180 Intake manifold the power delivery is smooth, I revved the nuts of the bike in 2nd gear & it almost reached 55kmph & it was quicker to reach their than what it used to with stock manifold.

We always check both our bikes on the stretch of road where Gixxer lives so It is very evident since we have been doing this for long time.
Yeah the plug is light now because of it being a platinum one, luckily we didn't tamper the carb setting over it!!
When you will buy the platinum one,it will also go lighter than the stock conventional one!! So we better rem the difference platinum makes!!
Yeah you've ridden my bike right from the start,so yes every small thing makes a difference which can be felt by comparing it with the previous setting. The RTR 180 intake manifold does the same difference as porting will do and you forgot that the platinum plug also added to it getting better.

    • Guys

My rear tyre has become good for nothing, I will need to change them soon, I am having 2.75x18 Ceat button type up front & was thinking if i can put them on to rear & change the front to Rib new one 2.75x18.

Ceat buttons up front is making handling little weird & this way I will have new front tyre as well as semi old back tyre..

What are your thoughts on putting 2.75x18 on stock fiero rim Ceat buttons type as rear fitment ?

Tyres are a one time investment, you will reap the benefits.

            • That was my suggestion to Abhi as he was cribbing that he can't invest on 2 tyres together

He already has a button tyre on his front wheel with 2.75-18 which for time being he can move it to rear and put a new tyre on front. That will solve his handling issues which is caused by button tyres on front.

In few days he can change the rear to 3.00-18.

By doing this he is not losing anything for sure

He eats 160 bucks worth of bajji and bonda everyday. But if you tell him to invest one day's junk food quota on a platinum spark plug which will save the extra money put on it within a month!!! thinks about it and dithers on it as though it was a HUGE decision!! So i am not at all surprised about the tyre choice.Look at the brighter side! at least his big fat tyre obsession seems to have been exorcised!!

PS: Knowing sarvajit AKA tyre-guru,i'm sure he wasted a lot of time and effort in trying convince him.

Knowing Gixxer I think he will mean your width , not height...

                        • I think that tire will cause a lot of under-steer.
But i guess one can live with that.

Bike will feel nimble, and loose grip at every opportune moment.Sharp cornering will leave you eating mud off the road, and whenever you apply rear brake, you will fish tail, and shit bricks.......of course your FE will improve by 3 to 5 Kms per liter...
Even my KB has 3.00/18 at rear.
Final word of request don't even think of reducing rear tire width below 3.00/18.

I guess I do not want to take risk, so I will go for 3.00x18 new tyre itself..

Good decision Abhi. The rear tire does not have much weight loading when you are riding solo, and so it is better to have wider foot print..and when you apply front brake our body weight+bike weight shift entirely to the front leaving the back wheel vulnerable to loose grip...
So a wider rear tire gives better grip, and prevents fish tailing.
