Hahhha last time around i was expecting higher avg,so i was surprised and so didn't rip her on the way back.

Still a couple of mods on line and might need a visit to shivajinagarThe fiero has a built in provision for a oil-cooler bro,i think that would be wasted if not used. What say?

Trust me bro, this mod is gonna be useless. An oil cooler in essence is still an air cooled unit, albeit with a separate section for cooling the oil only.
I think we are better off replacing the oil at regular intervals!
If you have so much money, send me around 5-6K, I will get some essential parts replaced on my bike like front suspension, cam parts etc.!

Yeah,it won't be much of a performance addition and no other fully performance modded fiero/RTR has had the need for one.Hell even the V-Twin fiero doesn't have one.Let's see,it's not a concrete plan yet.
I have a long list planned too bro with priorities set for each.

            • @All: Looks like that minor carb setting has had a positive effect-pollution check result was 0.98% whereas last time it was 1.85%.

Waiting for suspension&other parts to arrive...the bike is crying out for attention though doesn't show up in any funny way while running. That is what I love about this bike-it goes on&on smoothly.

Now I am using Fiero for office also, as R15 unfortunately got a bent rim on Saturday night.

@gixxer_junkie_m: What were you saying about P200 oil cooler that night? Sorry, I was pushing the bike&couldn't understand anything.

              • I have changed the RD handlebar to the FZ one now, the RD handlebar did not inspire spirited riding, it did not provide any kind of feedback from the front tyre, the FZ handler bar is just amazing, the front end communicates a lot to you, you can brake as late as you want and cornering feedback and feel is just amazing.

@all:- after 5+ years of big bore I feel like going back to stock now, at 75 rs/litre, I feel I am burning a big hole in my pocket, recently my office shifted and I have to travel 52 kms per day, which works out to around 1.2 to 1.3 litres of fuel per day around 100 Rs per day.

Good thing bro.Emission check reading along with a good avg means it's somewhat stable now.

Yeah bought a P200 oil cooler and it's been a couple of days since we've been thinking of the better way to fit it etc. Will let you guys know once something gets done or otherwise.
What happened to the R15 rim?

Yeah man, that RD handle which is a fav of local mechs is a bad idea. The thing about it is,it's too damn wide and high, which ruins the handling and feedback totally(worse than stock). FZ handle is good.

That's a lot of commuting bro, what did rajesh say?The oil cooler thing isn't being done at Rajesh's garage by the way.

What about the engine-head? you won't be able to use the current one on stock bore.Of course you can get used stock head and bore.

                      • @gixxer_junkie_m: R15's rim got bent when me&my friend went into a pothole at night.
We were really slow, that surprised me since I have gone into bigger potholes at higher speeds.
The culprit turned out to be low air pressure, which made the rims get a direct impact.
Luckily the bend is minor&I think I don't need to buy a new rim (almost Rs. 3.5K). I could ride the bike back home after filling air.
Looking for a good heat press repair shop to get it done over the weekend.

P.S. All the best with the oil cooler installation!

You have to do aluminum welding of inlet and outlet hose fixing mouths , on the crankcase for this....but you need oil pump to give pressure for circulation, otherwise oil will not get pumped into the cooler which will be at a higher than crankcase position.

Then what about placing it under his a**? He will give the required pressure...

@gixxer_junkie_m: Jk bro, I think you really love your Fiero...if you manage to make this work out, we will post a new thread&everyone will come running to you to make similar setups in FZs, RTRs etc.

On the same note, I'm loving riding Fiero as my only bike since a couple of days back when my R15's rim bent.
The bike is running well when heated up unlike earlier (credit Motul)&is able to cruise at around 65-70kmph with pillion. Mileage is around 40-42kmpl but I think it will give more when the cam is changed.
                              Am I right @psr?
It does heat up a bit more than earlier at signals etc.
I know the carb setting is not yet optimal, but I'm waiting for the camchain etc. to be changed before setting the carb&tappets.

The cooler and connecting pipes may burst due to extra pressure .(he pumps iron you know)
I think mounting the cooler at a lower level equal to the crankcase level will be more functional,as this will allow gravity flow ,not requiring pressure flow.
