  • I've got my practical exams going on, so had been very busy the whole week, even tomorrow in the morning from 7 to 10 i have another practical exam.

Hence was too busy with all that.

had a very stupid incident on the bike, left calf muscle is badly bruised, so things have become a bit difficult from last 3 days.

    However things are well otherwise.

Bike's giving a very bad and old feeling, even though the engine is great.
Have hardly ridden recently, have completed only 134 kms in last month...
There was a time when that used to happen everyday.

I expected gix to shoot some posts and pics about oil cooler thingy.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

I'm very much here&struggling with the cosmetic mod job of my R15. Fiero also got a bit of it (will post pics later), but the real parts replacement is yet to happen, so nothing to report.
      Mileage is going down drastically.
I have placed order for all the parts-just waiting for them to arrive&leave the bike for a couple of days there. Hopefully R15 will be up&running by then.
      Quench my thirst with gasoline!

A traffic incident i suppose? i do have some memories of practical exams with "great escapes/miracles/divine interventions/lady luck" .
Got a new dig cam, previously the only one working was a film SLR.So yes i will shoot a few pics of the oil cooler etc.

          @PSR /ALL

There's provision right in the crank case for the oil cooler addition and they have closed em with bolts. So it really is a bolt on job.
Due to ayudhapuja the mech's garages were closed till today and Mr Murthy is out of station i think. So i was waiting till the job's done to post here.

Nano good to see you concentrating on studies, and Sarvajit what are you doing to your R15 ? I thought only the Fiero was going through restoration....
@ALL we had a good D I Y G2G in chennai with lots of sharing and,now planning on the next this weekend...Why don't you start on the same line in your respective places, so that people become wise and cannot be taken for a ride by Charlatans.

Firstly, thanks for the wishes. It's a point and shoot Olympus FE 47.I got a good deal on flipcart so bought it.Coming to taking pics of SBK's ,well i would have to be "near" the SBK's to take the pics as it's got 5x optical zoom only The digi cams are a damn fragile lot!The older one conked the barrel and it had to be junked as repairing it was costlier than buying a new one. Were as my dad's old Nikon FM10 SLR camera is still working like a charm and it weighs a lot too due to having a robust metal body. The things i miss on the new cam are the weight, robustness of a metal body, which never made the cam shake when taking pictures and of course the ZOOM lens with high shutter speeds for shooting moving "SBK's ".
GTG are a good idea. The last time we had one, sarvajit learnt a thing or two from abhi about hard-core bargaining!! But mostly in such GTG's we end up studying in detail SBK's and their chassis and their DIY's!!
              I wonder why.

It was definitely a traffic incident.
It was a holiday, dassera so many people buy new things like appliances and vehicles that day.
As i had been to my friend's place to study some SQL queries and related stuff together (had another damm practical exam the other day) that friend of mine was excited for his uncle's return who would bring home a delivery of his new bike that day.

Now, no one knew which bike it would be, but it was a hero honda for sure, so this guy expected a karizma or a CBZ to the least.

We were doing some queries and after waiting a lot we left to the stadium.
Now the silly thing was that it was extremely crowded and most of the people were avoiding all the signals (specially bikers) and trying to get ahead.

Meanwhile i was waiting at a signal with my friend as a pillion, we were enjoying watching a traffic police guy abusing some young lads for their stupid riding and avoiding rules, equally frustrated and then suddenly from nowhere a passion pro guy bangs head on into my front tire.

It was all alright until the bike fell on my leg, and the handsome alternator fins ate my jeans and was trying to mash up my calf muscle.

The worst part was that the guy who banged up that passion pro into me was the one who got its delivery a few minutes ago, and to make it even worse, it was the same uncle who was supposed to get a new bike home.

The disappointment was that it was a passion pro and not a 150 ~ 225cc machine.
and the stupidity of the uncle of cource.

Hence it was a remarkably stupid incident.

                Hey gix which cam ??

                @ PSR

Well, I'd been to a G2G ride once with some 7 to 8 people, and its not a pleasurable memory.
That day almost everyone were not upto the xbhp standard in safety, riding skills or basic mental knowledge about themselves as well as others.
People were judged by the cubic capacity of what they ride, and the ones with powerful machines were the ones who thought they were supposed to show off.

After that ride, i never wanted to be a part of the G2G thingy ever, i was even called to the DIY session later, and i knew that it was wrong for me to judge the clan seeing just a little few, and i also know that there are many others who are much much better.
But still it never convinced me to be a part of it.

As you yourself are extremely knowledgeable as well as respected, its ofcource an honor to be a part of the G2G in which you would teach something to those who wish to learn.
I would love to be a part of that, more than what i would expect here.

                  Hey gix which cam ??
So it was more than a close shave(with the alternator) Seriously, you were lucky i guess.
Coming to your friend's bike,i guess he felt totally deflated expecting at least a 150 and ending with the "passion" pro and that too banging onto your ride??!! What a bummer and a auspicious beginning!!If it wasn't for the injury ,it must have been damn comical !! Seeing the expression on your friend's face ,when his uncle banged onto your ride astride a passion!!

Ofcource, i was soo busy laughing that i completely forgot about the injury, i realized how serious it was only after coming back home hours later.
In fact after his uncle left the scene and we continued to ride, all that incident and surprises as well as heartbreaks were difficult to gel in together.
It was extremely funny moment, my friend swore that he would never ever sit on that passion pro ever.

we all make fun of him, and related things whenever we think about that incident, we just can't stop laughing...

The best part however was that nothing on my bike as well as on his new bike was damaged, and it wasn't MY mistake...

Don't remind me of such things!! we still laugh like crazy when a friend of mine got a "surprise(according to his parents) and a shock (according to my friend)His parents woke him up(on his birthday) with a used automatic(sic) hero puch of a police constable!!when he was expecting/bragging about getting a used RX/Shogun!! and we still pull his leg saying that the puch came with a optional extra " a police lathi" and that he still secretly keeps it!!

Hahha yeah! His parents had a serious phobia about RX/Shogun and anything with gears for that matter!!The automatic hero puch was no more in production ,also being very unpopular and termed as a sissy ride!So they must have searched for one from hell to highwater!!All the while my friend used to go from mech to mech in search of a good RX/ShogunThe most funny thing about the whole deal was that the mech who brokered the bike had assured my friend's parents with total confidence and with a personal guarenty that no matter with how much ferocity the throttle is wrung, the bike won't move with any sense of urgency!! courtesy of ruined engine/carb/clutch!! My friend was in such trauma that he was seriously thinking of getting the mech beaten up by hired goons and swore eternal enemity!! Of course i was still riding a bicycle. (which i still have kept for fond memories)

Yeah that camera is built to last and such a low maintenance one in comparison to the digi cams. That i regretted buying the new one!!
Studying passing by SbK's and their chassis is the fav past time of ours. Of course watching a movie of a SBK with perfect set-up,tune,screamer config, with a beautiful front end and wide/ample rear with a narrow middle being ridden by professional " riders" "inspires" us . I hope/dream/pray that i get to own one someday.I know they are costly and high maintenance and won't suit our lifestyle Even the chance to "hire" and ride a exotic european SBK(like AVA rose) is the stuff of dreams! Of course if it's a "hired" ride, then proper protective gears are worn for the ride!!A friend of mine has made his mission to ride the SBK's of all continents and races. The last i heard the only one missing was riding a afro-american SBK.I've also heard from friends who've been to holland that there's a whole area dedicated to SBK's ,the red variety of course! and they say that there one can find really, heavenly SBK's!!for hire of course!!
