I got registered with xbhp today. Nice to see a dedicated thread for Fiero. I have a Suzuki Fiero Silver 2002 Model 75km on odo.

@gixxer_junkie_m
I saw modification specs (post 3700 http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...erofx-370.html) of your bike and planning to get the same. I am not tech guy hence need your help to find an expert to modify the same. Zen Motors has been moved to uttarahalli and named as Aryan Motors now, let me know if they can do the mods for me.

I am also planning to replace with FZ handle, extended swing arm of karizma(as the rear skids during hard braking) and Monoshock suspension of FZ.

Fz handle bars will do wonders I also have the same in my bike . I too own a silver fiero 2002 model . Rest of the mods experts will answer soon .

And a small update from my side had gone for 14t front sprocket and my mech did the job of finding me one and he claims discover 135 was a fit in my bike and really doing a great job the top speed increased a bit and I am very happy could have gone for 15t well ! will wait till the next chain change.

max007 Thanks. Have you tried any engine mods on your bike ? Also why you want to try 15t sprocket, I thought you yourself said in 4230 post that it would lead to tall gearing

You have a pm Go for the RTR set-up like shred did,i myself am thinking of going for the same.About the skidding part,start by putting a low handle bar,like that of the gladiator for starters,it'll do wonders for the handling and improve road-grip as well.The swing-arm mod can be done,but the mech is not doing that too good a job with it,so wait and see for a while.

psr, gixxer_junkie_m: Have bought a few parts namely carburetor diaphragm, clutch plates&springs, metal plates&pressure plates, chain set.
Hoping to restore the lost pickup-bike runs worse than a Splendor or pulls lesser than an Activa on a slope.
Will update in a few days after the service is done.
Wonder why the clutch plates are made of cork!

Traditionally compressed cork was used in Clutch plates since they have many desirable qualities.They offer friction and slip, can withstand moderately high temperature ...if the compression in forming the cork pad, or softer cork is used, then clutch will fail soon.....modern day plates use phenolic surface with high tension springs to overcome this...

Now I get it-that's why the clutch is failing so often. I was under the impression that the original ones were steel made.
After I changed the original clutch plates at 35K kms., this is the 3rd time within 30K kms.!
But this time the loss of response is by far the worst, probably coupled with the carb issue.

Buddy, the difference between the stock FCC japanese clutch plate and the cheap chinese one is in the quality.Both are metal ones.The stock japanese clutch plates can take the 200cc, along with the increase in compression as well ,without any problems.But the cheap chinese ones can't even take the boost in power, even when new.I've made the gearing taller to handle this,along with adding the extra steel plate method of vignesh, yet it can't handle the power in first gear past mid-range.

For stock bikes as well as for the fiero's modified with RTR head and bores.The method of adding a extra steel plate should be perfectly fine.The best solution for all clutch related problems with regard to our bikes is to go for the RTR clutch assembly.Here that's what's being done and in extreme cases stiffer springs are being added too.

Buddy,welcome to the fiero addiction high,it's good to hear that she has already given you a view as to how passionate she can be when she's given some freedom and needless to say Her plain jane dress sense belies a potential porn star hiding underneath the garb
Do tell us a bit more about her and maybe we can help you with getting her true nature out! and getting her for 9k is a real steal!!

@psr

A good news,today i was at the NGK distributor and i was pleasantly shocked to find that NGK has now released the surface gapped NGK R CR7EK ,the twin electrode spark plug and i am assuming that this is done to get the apache RTR market. Needless to say i bought one immediately along with the CPR8EA GP9 i had gone to buy.I am currently using the bosch twin electrode plug of the RTR as due to fueling issue with the carb ended up ruining 3 spark plugs including the costly iridium one along with the nickel and platinum ones. The difference in quality between the indian made bosch spark plug,which lacked symmetry right off the box,in comparison with the japanes made NGK is glaringly obvious!! So this is a good news for all fiero/RTR owners!!

Well, yeah it was a steal, but it has its problems too..!

The following are the problems & I really really need your help folks:

1. Oil leakage from the head (block) [no good mech around, one asked to get all the block, head etc etc replaced]
2. Mal-functioning kick
3. Useless tacho
4. Faulty brakes (not too bad, can be serviced easily)
5. Mal-functioning headlight (mech asked to get an altogether new assembly)
6. Need a better seating arrangement as the current one is killing my back (Maybe cuz I had an avenger earlier & now I'm not used to this seat setting)

Inspite of the leaking head/block, this beauty gave a mileage of 45kmpl & didnt shy away from a good ripping on the highway!!!! I was like, WTF, did suzuki manufacture..!! Thats when I decided, I'm not letting this bike go & would upgrade it, cosmetically & if need be, some power upgrades.

I NEED HELP NOW TO GET THIS BIKE BACK ON ROADS!!

I'M HERE TO STAY!!!
I would keep updating my journal of travel as soon as I get the bike up & running, planning to have a few road trips like Mumbai-Pune & Mumbai-Nashik, if possible...!!

You have to be more specific with regard to the oil leakage issue you have.It'd be even better if you make the observation and also put a couple of snaps of the head from where you suspect the oil's leaking from.
The kick starter might need a new return spring.
My advise would be that you better find a good mech to start with and then go about getting to modifications.Cosmetic and electrical works won't need much knowledge from mech's side,but other performance mods need it.As a example,the mech here(Rajesh) is ripping off the RTR/fiero guys blind.Today i found out that re-set RTR heads are available at lathe for 2.5k,were as the mech is asking 5k for a junkyard head which needs further work at lathe.

Hmm..Okay..I'll put up the snaps once I get back home.

Observation for the leakage is that leakage occurs during riding from all sides of the head. The head is glued with "M-Seal" which the mech says is a horrible work. Its my fault that I didnt ask the owner about it, I thought it was the carbon, grease etc that usually stocks on all bikes. I spoke to the owner & he says he has no idea as his brother was riding it & he has done all the work & the bike was lying for 2 months before he took out for selling.
