I usually complete 1000 kms in 7 days and I leave the bike in decent condition and by the time I go back, the bike has to be kicked to start as the battery is dead without being used.. my bro uses it, but only for local shopping and to drop my niece in playschool.. waiting to get my hands on it again this month end when I come to Chennai

by the way, the New ZMR 2014 owners.. where are you all?? busy?? post some reviews after such a long ownership.. how is the bike behaving.. any problems faced? it will help the guys looking to buy this bike..

    Cheers,

Yes bro i am enjoying my experience with the new zmr and it feels good to say that except the mileage ,i am actually facing no problem at all .just that ghe bike is a pain to clean every morning and gets very dirty due to the lack of a rear mudguard but it will soon be solved .and from the engine there is no problem at all the riding is butter smooth and the gear shifting is soo smooth that it feels like i have snapped a wafer everytime i shift a quality i have not yet felt on any other bike yet and the compliments i am getting everyday still after almost two months are really spoiling me and everytime i fake out my bike i am confident that i am going to get atleast two or three compliments average daily and i may not be getting the mileage but i am getting some serious headturning action out of this one guyyz i mean i have noticed that 60% of people stare at the bike like its some superbike and one of my friend who first saw this bike said that the bike looks easily like a 600cc bike and those who watch from their balconies say it looks like hayabusa! In all guyzz i am enjoying the ezperience and feel really happy that i had made a right decision .

Btw can anyone help me with a problem.when i get my bike washed i see that when i open my gas tank lid that there is some water collected in the rim and there also seems to be a hole provided for drainage of this water i guess.but it is not doing its job .so how should i solve this problem???

This is very common with almost all the bikes.. Tank drain tube might have dust which is blocking the water from draining.. if you notice at the bottom, there will be a huge rubber tube next to the engine.. that is the drain tube..

This is how I do it.. Open the lid.. cover the hole of the tank where fuel is with cloth so that the excess water doesn't enter the tank.. i soak out the water with the help of cloth or whatever thay can suck it.. i then slightly pull the drain tube to ensure it doesnt have any bent forcing the water to get stuck.. (this doesnt resolve it. It is a temporary solution) you gotta force air into that small hole.. service center guys have that compressed air, right? Get them to force the air into that hole (stay away) amf you will notice rust or dust coming out either from the drain tube or splatting over the top.. they will free it that way..

And great to hear the bike is doing good.. i would like to meet you if possible tomorrow.. please let me know if you are free

Yes rings can be separately changed and most present bikes need only ring change as the softer rings do not damage bore and timely ring replacment like oil will ensure bore to last long. Buy a new STD. ring set from spares, and open the bore. Then clean the carbon from piston top and also the ring grooves. Fit new rings and back. While you are it, change the valves and polish them. Change the valve oil seals, and the bike will be back to new like compression. Also adjust the tappets to stock settings by using feeler gauge. If i am correct ZMR has a valve clearance of 0.10 mm on both intake and exhaust valves.

I think there's a simpler way too, just take a thin wire (used for construction) of suitable length and slide it inside the drain hole till you see its other end from other side. :P
