    Update on wiring kit

After waiting for two weeks finally my bike is Ready with the billing amount of 14358/-, and yeah you can claim this in insurance.
Wiring kit damaged by rat bite, as they cannot solder it so need to fix it by buying full wiring kit.

As soon as I got the bike I went home and hired contract killers to wipe out rats around my home

And they are successful in it by killing 2 rats within a day.

Ps. Bike wiring is now covered by tube mesh plus extra security by contract cats family [emoji23]

So, finally you've got yourself the i-CATS the intelligent security system which incidentally Maruti used to offer. Actually, it's a pretty lousy feel to shell out 14k for wiring kit. But then, just as a note, hope all the electricals and stuff are working as they are supposed to. Do keep a tab on them.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

Oh yeah bro , everything's working fine and I got some good technicians here in SVC so worried free. But after the work I'm getting some slight clunky response from handle which I don't understand, gotta check with them now.

            Hey guys !!!
I have a few doubts in mind which am sure you brothers will help me figure out...
About me...am a corner craver and am just waiting to hit the track for any reason possible and I love sports bikes and my dream bike is the Panigale ( so u guys get the point )
I have decided on the RC390 but in a lot of confusion that I might end up shooting myself :-D
So my confusion is caused all bcos of the sexy new 2017 Duke 390. The LED headlight, TFT speedo, and the most important 13.5L fuel tank is pulling me towards it like the gravity on King Kai's planet in DBz ( translates to too much of suction towards Duke 390 )
My question is this : Is it worth buying the 2017 RC 390 ( which has not received any major updates like tat of the Duke ) or shall I go ahead with the 2017 Duke 390 itself because the improved chassis on the new Duke only improves the cornering capability which means I will be able to corner well even in the Duke. Of course the Duke has the practicality advantage but I don't really care about being practical. And I repeat, the major overhaul over the previous version, the LED headlamp, the sexy new speedo and the 13.5L tank are the only things hurting me....also hitting me on the head is that KTM said the RC will be completely overhauled in its 2018 avatar but I don't wanna wait so much....
            Please help me.
Life may begin at 30, but it doesn't get real interesting until about 150 ;-)

              Everyone has their own opinions

In the end it's you who's going to spend your hard earn money and ride it

So test drive both of them and decide which one suits you

Test drive both the vehicles and judge for yourself. Frankly speaking, the difference between the handling for both the bikes can only be felt on tracks. That being said, MY17 RC being just the evolution, will definitely carry lesser niggles comparatively.

Has anybody here fit this https://motofusion.in/shop/frame-sli...tm-rc-200-390/ frame slider onto their new rc 390 or the old one? They seem to protrude very less compared to frames and i doubt they will work as intended. Any inputs on this? and cant this be done without removing the frames?

                        Hey,
Just checked. It is the same. .2 same as urs on Trip 1. On Trip 2 its .5
I have those frame sliders. They look like they might work, though the bar ends and the lever will hit the ground first. I have foldable levers for that.

For low speed and parking lot falls, the frame sliders will help. For a high speed lowside, you will probably lose the fairing along with the slider. Fairings costs about 3k for one side.

Also, the motofusion frame sliders were not a direct fit. At least, it wasn't for me. Had to enlarge the holes on the mounting plates for proper fitment.

                        Cheers

Did you claim insurance ? If so, how much did you have to pay after the claim?
Did you take the old wiring harness back with you or left it at the svc ? To me that doesn't look like it is beyond repair.. if they pulled out the harness properly i.e. without randomly cutting it am pretty sure it can be put back to working condition with some soldering. If you have the old one, try to get it soldered (maybe some local electronics repair guy can help out) and keep it as a backup in case the rats make a comeback
I just duct taped the wiring at the steering stem area (it rubs with the steering stem and the factory plastic tubing is broken a bit). I'll probably add another layer of duct tape but getting in that tiny space with my big hands is a pain on duke.

I might just not be the right guy for telling you the mileage as I am breaking in and have done close to 900 kms only. The overall mileage till date I have got is 23kmpl. I commute with it and do an occasional morning ride.

This incident happened exactly at anniversary(bought on March 10th 2016) where I was out of station and couldn't renew the insurance but as soon as I came I bought insurance from icici lombard on 13th so as soon I noticed something wrong with abs and speedometer I took my bike to svc and called up insurance guys to claim and the insurance guy said Sir you have insurance break at 10th so the incident may happened on those days so cannot claim this , if there was no insurance break then i could've accepted he said.

And now I have the wiring with me, thinking do something with near by electrician.

Can you share the pics with bike standing straight and with closeups of where you put those on the frame of the bike? Also did you open the front frame to get those installed?
