Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
After 20k,😣i am having issue starting my 390, no battery warning, the lights are good, just the engine doesnt crank up, when i try to start, the self works, i checked each and every fuse, 😑but there is one thing, recently my low beam died,🙁 and i disconnected the plug and reconnected it back, could it be the reason why, or could it be
1)The spark plug, there were no symptoms of any engine cut off as such ever before but i haven't changed my spark plug till now.
2)It couldn't be the stand sensor, because there is no such warning shown.
3)It can't be the battery, everything is lighting up.
😥😥m just so confused..😐 please help me out.Last edited by sheru5; 05-12-2017, 11:45 AM.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I installed Diamond Vision 5000K on mine about a year ago. It's just manageable but nowhere close to the illumination you get from stock bulb.Originally posted by Sird View PostHow much? Any difference in throw?
The reason I got it is because it is white with a blue tint and goes perfectly with the LED DRLs.
In pitch dark conditions, the bulb does a good job but otherwise it's useless under street lights.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
this could be due to earthing issue, better get it checked @SVC instead of getting stopped in between of traffic.Originally posted by sheru5 View Post

20kkms on same spark plug is not good, get sprk plug changed, it hardly costs 100-150 rs.
not sure but you can try to remove battery terminals for 10 minutes and then connect them again. this will reset ecu.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Finally the bike started..😌, i took out the spark plug cleaned it..actually it was clean already, 😛, n than i tried starting it with a bit of throttle, the bike started. It was such a relief😌😌. I think its because i didn't start the bike for three days.🤔, but thankyou for helping me out. Went to bajaj svc for help, they do repair ktm there too, they were too busy to help me, but now i know how to change a spark plug on my bike.. haha..😏, and its a simple and easy process, i do the bike service myself, but spark plug part was my first time..☺☺ m happy now..Originally posted by nilesh9777 View Postthis could be due to earthing issue, better get it checked @SVC instead of getting stopped in between of traffic.

I will get definitely a new spark plug, and will change the fuel filter too, whenever i ask for service parts, as usual the ktm dont have them,😛Originally posted by nilesh9777 View Postthis could be due to earthing issue, better get it checked @SVC instead of getting stopped in between of traffic.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Rotors will fit and to put the calipers in exact place you need to make longer spacers.Originally posted by incipient View PostI am not sure about that. The pads would likely be different and probably the brake lever as well, since the master cylinder is also new. The new rotor will require getting a new front wheel according to the SVC guys here. All in all, it looks like a Rs 10k + upgrade. I may go for it though if the improvement is as good as the reviewers say it is. EBC HH pads are a cheaper option but unfortunately the feel is not quite there and they also fade.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Posting here after a long time
Let me speak about my bike
Its a 2015 RC 390
Has done around 19k kms and currently having small issues here and there but nothing major.
I got a long list of mods i've done to my bike though
1. Racing bubble Windscreen without cutout
2. Powertronic ecu
3. Replacement air filter from K&N
4. Master cylinder has been replaced with that of RE Continental GT
5. 320mm floating disc rotor(the one that comes oem for benelli tnt 600)
6. X ring chain from EK chains, japan
Other small changes here and there like hids for both projectors, ngk iridium spark plug etc.
There is this one issue that still presists, it shows low oil pressure after riding for a km or so if I keep the revs over 5.5k rpm.
I have changed the oil pump, oil pressure sensor, tried few other things but this just doesnt seem to go away.
Any inputs on this issue?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
After 20k if you haven't replaced your spark plugs, it's a good decision to change the spark plug, and the air filter if required. Importantly get your valve clearances checked if you haven't.Originally posted by sheru5 View PostAfter 20k,i am having issue starting my 390, no battery warning, the lights are good, just the engine doesnt crank up, when i try to start, the self works, i checked each and every fuse, but there is one thing, recently my low beam died, and i disconnected the plug and reconnected it back, could it be the reason why, or could it be

Either it's got to be a wiring issue, meaning a spliced wiring grounding or an issue with the console itself. What you can do is check the connectors on the console itself and check for any wire splicing.. If everything's intact at least you can try swapping the console and check if the malfunction is detected again.Originally posted by Rahul.g View PostPosting here after a long time

The console has been replaced but still the issue presists, I guess I will have to thoroughly check the wiring.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
So on weekend drive someone messed with radiator.
Soon coolant started leaking through radiator.
Looks like someone hitted with wood or stone purposefully at 2 places.
Barely able to drive 30 kms with 4 stops due to high coolant temperature and bike shutting down.
I think will need to replace whole radiator :-(
Anyone knows radiator cost?
Really some people are not happy if they see such a beautiful bike with you. Always keep it parked safe guys.

That's sad, indeed. Radiator alone should set you back at around 2700 +- 300 Rupees.Originally posted by bikersdream View PostSo on weekend drive someone messed with radiator.
