In the case of my NS, it was the plastic joints of the wiring which were vibrating against the console plastic .. In the NS there is a whole bunch of wiring in the headlight console recess.

Cannot comment on how the AS is done up for the wiring but you may want to check it out. In case there is, you could wrap the wiring with a rubber tubing or something to create a damping effect and fit them tightly into the recess. In my case I used an old cycle tube and taped the ends to hold it in place.

    Could work for you too.

Buy from authorised Dealer always. not from Multibrand dealer.

Multibrand dealer don't pay octroi for the same and hence there is a price difference. better to pay little more than paying fine and taxes and facing issues later in case.

I got a Quote of 1.02 lacs from all multibrand showroom. and 1.07 lacs from authorised one...

When went for the booking after a Week's time, Bajaj reduced the price of AS200 from 1.07 to 1.05 lacs and removed NS200 from its pricelist (discontinued) EFI version already in Production.

      Cheers!
Its a unique authorised showroom available in kolhapur. earlier there were 3 showrooms.

Is it possible to fit RS200's exhaust system to AS200?

I think it is possible but center stand should be removed.
        I dont like the bald look of as200 {exhaust not visible}

                Hi Guys,

I bought my bike in April last year soon after launch. Now before first service it was giving decent mileage of 35 KMPL. Before first service I drove religiously under 4K rpm. Things started to go down after first service, first mileage went down to 32-30 KMPL range. Then after 1 month of service, I heard some metal sound coming from engine. Went to Khivraj Bajaj Marathahalli, they said some problem in engine head and replaced some nuts and rocking arm under warranty. The mileage keep on decreasing after that, reached 28KMPL. So I did my second service with Auto Service, Banashankari, told them about the mileage thing. They said they will look into it. But nothing changed, so next time I went to them I told them to check carb setting. They checked and changed carb setting, but no effect. I'm still riding with low mileage. Next service is due in April. My running is low, approx 600 KMs per month. I thinking of doing early third service. What will you suggest, where should I go for next service? Also should I contact Bajaj? I cannot after ASC guys each month due to office.

                Thanks
                Prashant

                • Pungent Rubber burning smell near engine area ?

                  Hi Guys

I have covered 1600 kms on this bike. 1st service done at 500kms. I recently discovered a pungent smell near engine area (similar to rubber/plastic burning smell).
Immediately i called bajaj customer care on the way, nobody picked the call. Then i reached bajaj service center for inspection.

After 3 hrs of full inspection (and also washing and minor repairs), Here's what they have to say:

Q: What is the cause of this smell ?
A: There is a filter in exhaust pipe/silencer which is new, It burns which causes the smell. It is common in all big bikes, especially in 200NS/AS200 for first few thousand kms.

Q: Is it gone now ?
A: No, it will go away after 5000kms automatically.

All answers provided by krishna bajaj gurgaon.

Anyone having this issue -or- any information about it, Please let me know.

                    Hi Vishal..

New bikes have that smell.. Nothing to worry about.. Even my new Pulsar 200AS had.. But it is less as of now.. It comes only when the engine is heated after long runs or during traffic jams..

Maintian the proper run in and all will be fine.. Even my idling RPM varies.. From 1200 rpm to 1800rpm..it stabilizes after 2 to 3k kms..

                    Cheers 🍻

I would definitely love to know if its possible..

Btw if it is... Would it affect the ability of the exhaust to avoid water entering as is the case with the current underbelly exhaust ?

                          Technicall, you can.

But an under seat hung pipe would suit the bike, it would equate the front bulk looks. I'd still prefer the Stock exhaust assembly.

                            Hi,

I faced exactly the same issue with my bike as well. The vibes are originating in the console itself. What happens is that the console is mounted on screws on a flexible mount to dampen the very vibes that cause this noise. Unfortunately, given Bajaj's famous lack of QA, the mount is super vibey and transmits terrible vibes as you go higher the rev range.

The solution is to take a day out, sit with a senior tech, and make him open the entire front instrument console to mount rubber washers on the Console mounts. It is a lengthy process my friend. This solved the problem for me! Hope it does for you too. Keep me posted!

                            Hello Guys,

2000 kms and 2nd service completed. I noticed something strange while servicing this time. The ASS never cleaned the air filters not spark plugs for AS/NS 200!
I had more urgent matters to fix so i didn't raise this issue, but have you guys seen the technicians properly removing and cleaning the 3 spark plugs and air blow cleaning the paper filter?

My ASS guys, even though legendary jerks do it... Guess, unfortunately fot you, your mechs outdid mine...

Onto more serious matters, thanks for the info on the damping bit. I will be going tomorrow to get my console changed so while he is at it I will make sure he puts in washers too. Thanks again mate.

I read somewhere that the air-filter is hard to reach, under the tank, so ASS guys avoid cleaning it. Same with the triple spark mumbo-jumbo spark plugs. Classic example of dumb marketing! 3 spark plugs for a single cylinder engine. 3 times as many parts to go wrong!

Btw what mileage do you guys get? I'm getting below 30s in Hyderabad traffic.

Anytime mate. The washer solution was a revelation! The console buzz should be eliminated for the AS after the washer fix
