  • @vishnu- Does wash and wax itself contain the wax? If so is it necessary to use separate polish?

Actually it is cleaning and waxing the bike together but I am using their Wax & Polish too as the area to be waxed in a bike is very small, compared to a car.

Though I haven’t used yet, Collinite 845 is heard to be a very good insulator wax. It is a little costlier – Collinite 845 + 1 free Carrand White terry 4.75 inch applicator pad for Wax + 1 free Carrand Blue Microfiber 4.75 inch applicator pad for Buffing after wax + complete instructions = Rs. 895 including taxes and shipping (copied from E mail). If interested, contact [email protected].

i used waxpol wash and wax it won't give you the same feel and shine of waxing

the two in one quality is ok but not as good as we do the waxing seperatly
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Does the effect last till the next wash or wear off sooner?

          • @Sriki.GSpian :
Those JAV people are pathetic.,they are there to chat & giggle in the showroom.. Since their sales itself is a problem , my confidence about their after sales went down..That's the reason I directly headed to ABT for my 1st service... Now,I'm happy now with the purchase and the service I got from them...
Porur SMK & Nandanm ABT are the only two dealers with good reputations in our big Chennai..
Hope I see you in ABT for your 1st service, since it's nearest to your house...
            By the way best wishes...

              • As in the case of Magesh, Chiron, many others and you, some dealers or the employees there are spoiling their reputation. The most pathetic part is that most of the sales men know nothing about the bike.

A customer may have many doubts to be cleared about the product or the conditions of the loan they arrange and clearing them is the primary duty of the sales personals.

The best thing we can do is keeping away from them. (What else can we do?) Due to this single incident, the dealer is losing the sales commission and the monetary benefits he get through the future servicing and probable sales of spare parts of that bike. What you did is exactly correct; I think. Forget that 150. Consider it as a alms you gave to them. [/QUOTE]

thanks bro! hope i get my gsr sooon ! hands are itching and i badly need this beast, but at the same time i am ready to wait and get this beast!

                  • Does the bike engine oil expand and contract when hot or cold???

I was out of town for a week. When i covered my bike it the oil level was full in the oil strainer screen. when i came back there was no sign of oil in the oil strainer screen(oil not visible in centre stand!!) and after using it for about 5 km s the engine oil resurfaced in the oil strainer screen

Yes, it expands when engine is hot and contracts when cold. But not very noticeable. Even petrol expands and contracts depending on temperature.

                        • Fron wheel alignment

Hii guyz, hope everyone is doing fine. Last week I gave bike to service, after that I'm feeling a small misalignment. Bike is very hesitant to turn right, but left is fine.

After a small ride, I checked the wear mark in the front tire and noted it to be more on right side. Have anyone faced this kind of issue? I hope this can be rectified by adjusting the wheel nut.

Thats true to certain brand oils
once i did reported on this forum that oil lose its viscosity and expands (increased the level on window)

this happened to me after filling oil at SVC have no clues what oil they outsourced from at that time

Did anyone ride your bike just before your coming back? If not, you may have kept the bike on side stand for a week and checked the oil level before giving it enough time to flow back.

In the workshop, the bike is put on its centre stand and the oil drain bolt and the oil filter cap bolts are removed to drain the oil. In most cases, 1100 ml of oil is not drained through this process unless the bike is tilted to both sides and kept in that position for a while and straightened again.
Usually, 1100 ml of oil is added to whatever is left in the bike. That means excess – more than the total 1400 ml needed – oil is there in the engine. If it happens, it is natural that the oil level is above the ‘F’ level of the oil inspection window.

More than that, please remember that the oil level we see through that window is not always the same as it takes a long time to deposit back the circulated oil.

The procedure of oil change is explained in detail in the user’s manual. Either follow it or seek the help of some of your friends like Mazaid to learn how to do it and change the oil yourself. That will help you to sleep peacefully.

No oil – either the “useless” Castrol or the so called SVC oil or the “miraculous supernatural and divine” Motul oil is not increasing spontaneously. If someone claims so, don’t believe such eccentric claims.
