So may be it is the fully faired version that gets a new 400cc engine and thats why he might have meant the word "scrap". Anyways, all the speculation are gonna be cleared by the 1st week of feb. We just have to sit tight keeping our fingers crossed. If Benelli ditches the 300 i wont choose anything with Benelli. Who knows what stupidity they ll do next. And I'll have to reconsider my option of MT03.

I don't think Benelli would do something so radical w.r.t. the 300 by stopping it, if they have observed other manufacturers' stupidity in the same, for example, When Maruti stopped the production of Zen and Esteem, only to push their DUDS!!...the Estillo, A-Star, SX4, we all know what happened, they all are now not in production itself, apart from the Alto, Swift, and Ritz in their line up, everything else are there just to make up numbers, they expected people would be that dumb when they stop their best selling products that they would go and buy their DUDS instead...and look where they are now...I hear the S-Cross is such a big flop, dealers are giving discounts up to 5.5L for the top end diesel version!!..I think Benelli wouldn't do anything like this sort if they have something called common sense!!

At least zen & esteem was more than 10 years in the market and I don't think anything wrong about their replacements. They gave way too new models and diesel competition. See, until the NS Bajaj didn't really upgrade the pulsars that's a stupidity too. Just cuz a model is their best seller doesn't mean they shouldnt upgrade it.

It really depends on the situation. Wrt Benelli it's not even a year and the 300 made them firm foot into the Indian market. If they can scrap it so easily they can scrap their customers really too. Beware!

@ Shashank.. I really appreciate the effort you took to answer for my queries. Many thanks for that. Now I see things lot more clearly.

Totally agreed to your point. Right now I have completed only 6k kms on the odo.. So I will be using her till 10k kms and once done, I would be giving her away and will be switching to the benelli 300.

I got a little confused with the service charge part .. You were charged Rs.3870/- ? Did I understand that correctly?
Also could you please tell me what is the service interval for the bike..
                Thanks again

Yes, I have heard about the versys 650 using the same platform of the ER but it will be too tall for me.. and I also heard that its heavier than the Er6n (dry weight) but abs is a good feature.

Same here. It's one helluva bike. But I didn't like the way it sounded, didn't like the seating posture, didn't like the pillion seat. Also, I did not like the way it makes you rev harder. I dont think its suitable for a person like me inside the city. I would love to take it to the track but definitely not for daily use. At least for me!

That's true, but sometimes it had helped. For example, with Bajaj RS200. Bajaj purposefully stopped 200NS production to aid AS200 and RS200 production and promotion. Though officially they didn't discontinue yet, but if they realize the customer expectations are going toward a sporty design and a bigger displacement, then they sure will do. Benelli could also think that their own TNT300 could cannibalize the new entry for some reasons.

So the best answer is to wait and watch the scene

God knows why they charge a bomb for it.

18k for one year just for regular servicing.

I guess even for a z800, it isn't this high.

Usually the TNT 300 is compared to the Duke 390, the Duke is lighter and faster and makes more power too, also the competition is going for higher CC like its rumored that Honda is going to come up with 350 cc twin cylinder Super sport, Pulsar is coming up with 400 and Kawasaki is planning a more powerful Ninja soon, hence this move might be future proof.

Actually Benelli Engines are Powerfull and good to beat the competition only problem is the bike weight and maintenance cost.
A cheaper alternative will be to produce lighter Motorcycles rather than increasing the power.
