Sorry but it seems there was a confusion. Today I've confirmed that the cost of general service is Rs.2100/- for 3rd service as the number of checks & amount of work to be done is more. Similarly for 5th it will be Rs.2300/-. 4th & 6th will be again Rs.1600/-. The costliest will be the 8th service, not sure of the cost.
Till yesterday few guys in our group has got the 3rd service done @ Rs.1600/- as no one in Mumbai is aware the 3rd service cost. It has been confirmed in the evening by DSK person so mine was done at Rs.2100/-.
This cost is based on the grade of the city decided by DSK for e.g. A+, A & B. B grade cities have lesser cost. Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore belong to A/A+.
Also dealership has agreed their fault of charging VAT over MRP & has confirmed that they will either refund the money or adjust the difference in the next service. In past few days most of the customers in Mumbai have been charged like that.
DSK is not accepting the chain wear issues. My rear axle bearing now will be replaced for the 3rd time. This time though I could not find any issue with the bearing but as a precautionary measure they are doing it.
I went for the 3rd service thinking it will take maximum 2 hours, now motorcycle will be at the SVC till next week waiting for the bearing.

        Which SVC is this? Thanks

No, that is not allowed. You will have to by the oil supplied by DSK. You ride 2K or 0K in 4 months, oil change is necessary as per the technician in Mumbai. We will discuss this with the DSK guy tomorrow also if required with the higher authority.
            Thanks for the information.
Any updates from the meeting with DSK you all had?

I am a follower of this thread and would like to add something. Be it Benelli, Yamaha, Honda or any other manufacturer, or for that matter any car, it is always recommended to change engine oils at the intervals specified by the manufacturer. If the periodic interval is calling for a change in engine oil, then how much kms are completed comes secondary. Adding this since I read some members thinking otherwise.

I hope the chain issues are sorted out for me to jump onto the TNT300, till then I am watching this thread

That's besides the Yamaha service center. It's actually MIDC road number 2.

                  Hi Chirag
Not true. Depends on oil which you use. For Fz oil change interval recommended by Yamaha is 3K-3.5K kms for mineral. I've been using 300v with interval of +6k kms. For 7100 Oil change interval of 4000kms should not be necessary, you can easily tell that based on the condition of the oil when it is drained out. Also not only members in this forum but also many customers have been complaining about this, the DSK person & technicians at SVC have confirmed this.
For Chain wear, you will need to bear the replacement cost as DSK will not entertain any warranty claims. We have asked them to get the chain manufactured locally (Rolon/Diamond) instead of procuring it from China.
                  Regards,
                  Abhijit

My discussion was based considering an owner follows the service manual totally which in turn means only recommended oil is used till the warranty period. The drain intervals vary depending on the grade of oil used (M,SS,FS).

And regarding the chain issue in tnt300, do you think the discussion/Suggestion with/to DSK/Benellli regarding this is going to be fruitful?

Nope! Its not gonna help at all. In two words, DSK Service sucks.

Drain Interval for Fully Synthetic is 4000 km and initially they recommend changing it twice till 4000 km, holy crap. That means, by that time you reach 8000 km you already drained 9 liter of fully synthetic engine oil costing 8000 rupees, make sense?

Ninja Service(for sake of comparison) : Regular service costs less than Rs. 4500. Service booklet says oil change every 10,000 kms. Service Interval is 6000 km.

Benelli : Regular Service Costs - 5200 rupees. Oil Change every 4000km and interval of service is 4000 km.

The Service head for west region Krishna told us that it will be done soon no time line was given.
He also did not confirm yet that the chain had a issue as when i had to leave for a meeting when he was checking the chain.

I see loads of new Benellis for sale in OLX.

Few 300s have also joined recently. I hope this is not a reason.

I don't know if its still out but benelli just launched the abs version of 600 and 600gt that would definately get a hike.
