Isssue facing / General Observations -
    - Noise from chain between 3.5k-4k RPM in any gear. Got it checked from SVC they said its normal and wll be gone after first service. But it didnt.
Sounds like chain is vibrating and hitting something. Planning to visit SVC again. One of the owner is also facing same issue.(Covered 970 kms till now)
    - Fuel Indicator is not accurate.
    - RPM Needle is vobling a bit while changing a gear - is this normal?
    Other than this no issues!

    Cheers,
    Abhishek

For all the above, they are "known issues".

I can live with last two, but never heard about noise from chain from other owners (in this thread). With this issue chain lasts till 24-25k kms (Assuming regular maintainance/lub)?
        What are aux lights?

Binil is still on stock with 25k on the ODO. Raghu changed it when he had clocked 25k.

If one takes care of the chain like Binil does, which is immaculate, you will get a life of at least 30K to 32K Km, may be even more. I took care of the chain to the best of my abilities by lubing it once in at least 1000 Km.

Binil, can you please post a DIY video of your chain cleaning and lubing for the benefit of everybody here.

The vibes you are talking about, comes in lower RPMs specially when you are in a higher gear. It's known (not an issue). Its more like a vibe the chain picks up at a particular point. If you see the initial posts in thread, you will find a mention for the same. Nothing to worry about. It's a character of this bike. In fact I think I have gotten so used to it now that I do not remember the last time I acknowledged it.

AUX lights, I am using the one Shashank shared. Got from AliExpress. Quite decent for the price I paid. Mine is a Flood Type. You also have options to take a SPOT Type which will give you a more focused beam.

If you don't mind spending, RIGID or DENALLI are two good brands. RIGID recently launched a model specific for two wheelers, with 2 pods, and high beam and low beam control. Check with one of the dealers. In Bangalore it's available at Moto Cafe, Ulsoor.

                  Bus kar pagle, rulayega kya

Considering we are discussing chains. I found something interesting recently.

Benelli 300 uses the 525 size chain. 525 size chains are recommended for motorcycles upto 1200 CC. So, my statement about our bikes being over-engineered stays true.

How does it matter ? You can save cost by shifting to a 520 size chain. The Pitch is same across 520, 525 & 530 size chains. Only thickness and weight changes. So, whats the advantage. 520 chains will be cheaper, lighter. It might give slightly less life than a 525 but cost to wear ration could be profitable for us.

Most Indian bikes, Ninja 300, Ninja 650, Duke Twins all use 520 size chains. JT Chains, one of the best in the world, sells the 520 set with sprockets for 10500 INR. That's close to a 4000+ rupees saving compared to a 525.

Regular chain cleaning is more than enough for getting a good life out of your chains.

During one of my recent off road jaunts, I got a little too adventurous and ended up with a stone hitting my chain. One of the rivets chipped off. No issues apart from a larger than required gap between the links in one section. I went to the SVC and they have sent a video of this to DSK. Not sure if it will help. SVC was looking frantically in their DMS for details of when I had changed my chain. Then after sometime they came and asked me if this is stock chain. It seems I am the only one from Bangalore who has crossed 25k on the ODO and not changed the chain yet. Anyway, coming to my issue, these chaps were good, helped rivet my link and I was on the way. I will probably get a master link and replace that link just as a precaution. as changing the whole chain for a damaged rivet does not make sense.

Hello Everyone, Recently did a 1200+kms trip on my TNT 300, I would like to write a short honest review about the bike's performance and character during this entire trip.
Before starting on with what the bike gave for me I would like to tell how i took care of her and what i did to her. I usually ride her once in a week and during G2G's only, so never abused her in day to day traffic. She always gets her service done pretty right on time and never missed any. Whenever she felt dirty and sticky took care of her by giving a nice silky wash with few cleansing and lubrication for the free flow of her chain with the mated gear box. So she is always brand new with a Ceramic protection over her skin. Most of the time I ride on her gently and would throttle till the end, never abused her aggresively .

                    Day 1 - Chennai-Highways-Thekkady-Few HairPin Bends
On my Day1 we travelled from Chennai towards Ulundurpet for Breakfast and then Dindigul for lunch, Entire route is a Four Lane stretch with very less traffic after dindigul. Never had any difficulty in pushing with the fellow quarter litre bikes such as the RC390,R3 & N300, I comfortably cruised in 130 in 5th gear and whenever i needed a push throttled a little bit and changed the 6th gear to go for it. There were several instances where I had to do a Hard brake for cattles or humans who were walking inbetween the national highways to get some fresh air, in those hard times the dual discs helped a lot and gave a nice bit whenever needed.
After lunch in dindugul we had to go through Cumbum, theni route where one had to make a lot of overtakes to be on time. Maintained the 7k RPM mark after 3rd gear to make sure I had the push to overtake at times whenever needed.

Finally reached the foothills to climb over the Kumily Route to thekkady which had the 18 hairpin bends, the roads were not that good in the start due to the monsoon however the views where breathtaking and awesome, So from this point taste of hell started to me.
This is the point where i should tell about my motoring skills, Im no VR46 but still have quite a experience to enjoy my ride safely, have been through 3 Near fatal accidents in which have lost a part of my little finger during one of those. So I know the mistakes i have made on my part eventhough I was hit from behind in all 3 accidents, have grown up to be a safe rider.
Initial Hair pin bends were fine, I managed the 196kgs(Kerb) of the bike in hairPin bends Pirellis gave me this confidence. However in one such Huge elevated Hair pin bend i faced a situation of sudden braking due to the Duke infront of me Engine stalled. At this point i lost balance due to the Elevation in the turn and had to fall aside, my bikes handlebar was over my hand which got stuck between the concrete RoadSide barrier, luckily even the side fenders did not touch the ground . My pals(Imam,Wiki,Gb,Manoj,Vig) behind lift the bike and saved my hand from getting completely crushed, suffered a swelling for more than a week along with few wrist pains. After few minutes of becoming stable enough to ride I was safely convoyed by my pals and reached the hotel safely.
A good nights Sleep, few sprays of volini helped me sleep that night.

                    Day 2

We stayed at Hotel Sandra Palace in Kumily, hospitality of the hotel staff and food was really good. Thanks to the Kerala xBhp team who organised the stay and other facilities. We rode to the Parunthumpara View Spot this day. It was a 30+ kms hill side to this view spot with few sharp bends on the way, enjoyed the scenic route. However had to slow down due to my left hand injury and obviously the weight of my bike.

This view point is amazing and you could very well do a short trek and reach the small peaks surrounding you, we reached this point by 11am. Mist was down at that point, after a few minutes when it was 12 the Mist was raising up covering the entire view ahead of us. I have to say that one has to be there to perfectly experience the feeling I am trying to explain.
Returned to the hotel after this ride and took some rest, one of my friend OM who owns a duke 390 and a aggressive cornering Expert was very reluctant to go for another view point with couple of other friends, his wish was to test my girl in the corners. Just to see how he felt dancing with her in those corners, since its just a dance i passed her on to him. When he came back he carefully parked her and gave the keys to me and assured me that he will never take her for a spin in hills .

                    Day 3
We started early the next day morning so that we can reach early to chennai before the incoming traffic starts as it was a sunday. Three of us maintained 120kmph while the remaining took some sharp overtakes and reached our breakfast spot. After we had breakfast we planned to ride a bit aggressively so cut-off from the group after informing and three of us(Dominar,390 & Me) maintained 140 to 160 on a constant phase till we reached Ulundurpet by 12:30pm. During this time the temperature in the bike never crossed 93 or 94, however as soon as i stopped in Ulundurpet i saw the Coolant coming out Via the overFlow tube and understood that it must be due to the Heat. Gave her some rest after constantly screwing her for a long time.
After lunch we maintained 130kmph towards chennai and reached by 3pm, had a watermelon juice to reduce the body heat and said a Tschüss to my xBhp Friends before leaving home.
My Girl brought me back safe, Sound and much more conforatable than i Expected.
It was indeed a special ride to keep it in my memories .

Sold my 10 months old Himalayan and got this motorcycle yesterday. My Himalayan was not having much issue but the service center people's attitude and still 1 mechanic per SVC ( for Himalayan) in Hyderabad put me off.
I wanted some thing bigger, better, reliable and which I can keep for at least 5 years more, after test riding this machine I fell in love with it instantly and then I spend weeks on this thread, the machine came home yesterday.Detailed reviews will come as I ride this beautiful machine.

Checking with the local dealership would be the right thing to do. Rates will differ in different states.
