We have almost sorted it out with DSK we are still in talks will update tomorrow about it after our meeting.

    4. Consumable - Rs. 570/-
    5. General Service Charge - Rs 2394/- (new rates effective Jan 2016 - has been increased from 1500 to 2100 pre tax)

    all amounts inclusive taxes.

    Total Amount : - Rs 6227/-

I paid Rs. 1000/- less as they had wrongly charged me the 600i service charge during my second service.

One thing is for certain. I am not servicing at SVC post my warranty period.

Reasons : I have no concerns over the workmanship. So far I have had a good experience.

    However my concerns are :
    1. Enforcing change of engine oil every 4000kms. - Used oil had good texture while being drained out. Same oil is used for 12K kms (got this confirmed from n300 user). This in turn is waste of money and oil. work around - Move to a cheaper oil which is good for 4000kms and get service done till warranty gets over.
    2. High Service Charge - Rs. 2394/- per service. would equate to over Rs. 24000/- (including engine oil) for me in 12 months. It's six months and I have already done my 3rd service. Average 6K per service. My VW Polo has a service interval of 15K kms and costs around Rs. 15000/- including engine oil.

Please note that in the above scenario the issue is only stupid policies and high costs stated by DSK. Else if you are maintaining your bike on your own, service costs will be way way less.
Why did u change your airfilter?

My second Service costed me just 2800

My Bike hardly runs 2.5k kms in 4 months...SO next time I am also thinking of asking to them to check the quality of the engine oil, If it is still like new, no point in changing it, May be just change the oil filter to keep the engine oil a bit more clean and check/change air filter. That way I can keep the service cost at check.

But I am not sure if SVC guys would recommend it or not.

This scenario is mostly probably ruled out in our SVC.

It's as per the Service Interval chart in the service manual.

You cannot change oil filter without draining the oil. However you don't really need to change oil filter every time.

Ideally they shouldn't but they would as dealer's do not agree. It all boils down to how good your rapport is with them.

            .

Yikes, true that. It didnt strike me at all . Yes, I can ask them to have a look at the oil quality, if good, let the oil and the filter stay intact and change it next time,

Lets give it a shot, They can see it on the ODO, We can emphasize as well. But, Like you said, they may not adhere to it and might insist us to get it changed or tell us some cock and bull stories about getting it changed, else what might happen and .....

This again incorrect. Charges are still Rs.1500/-. I'm going to SVC tomorrow for 3rd service will confirm again. But I've confirmed this with SVC itself.

No, that is not allowed. You will have to by the oil supplied by DSK. You ride 2K or 0K in 4 months, oil change is necessary as per the technician in Mumbai. We will discuss this with the DSK guy tomorrow also if required with the higher authority.
There are few other irregularities like charging VAT over MRP. Guys have raised the voice over it & DSK people are ready to discuss with us.
The only thing which worries me that all these irregularities are quite open but not sure why DSK is allowing the dealership to charge us that way, as if there is no control over them. The situation in Mumbai is horrifying, almost every time I visited SVC, I saw customers fighting with the SVC guys. Only positives are Technicians. Spare parts are not available as Dealership is not releasing money to place the order. New Dealership now opened in Thane under different management, let's hope for good.
Let's see Del, Shahbaz & Me will keep you guys posted regarding tomorrow's meeting with DSK guy.
              Regards,

Can you please share me the image of the bill once you are done? I will shoot DSK a mail on the same along with other issues.

Also pictures of of the DMS if possible .

Either the Dealers or DSK ... I feel both are in tandem here.

                  Hi Binil,

Sorry but it seems there was a confusion. Today I've confirmed that the cost of general service is Rs.2100/- for 3rd service as the number of checks & amount of work to be done is more. Similarly for 5th it will be Rs.2300/-. 4th & 6th will be again Rs.1600/-. The costliest will be the 8th service, not sure of the cost.
Till yesterday few guys in our group has got the 3rd service done @ Rs.1600/- as no one in Mumbai is aware the 3rd service cost. It has been confirmed in the evening by DSK person so mine was done at Rs.2100/-.
This cost is based on the grade of the city decided by DSK for e.g. A+, A & B. B grade cities have lesser cost. Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore belong to A/A+.
Also dealership has agreed their fault of charging VAT over MRP & has confirmed that they will either refund the money or adjust the difference in the next service. In past few days most of the customers in Mumbai have been charged like that.
DSK is not accepting the chain wear issues. My rear axle bearing now will be replaced for the 3rd time. This time though I could not find any issue with the bearing but as a precautionary measure they are doing it.
I went for the 3rd service thinking it will take maximum 2 hours, now motorcycle will be at the SVC till next week waiting for the bearing.
                  Regards,
                  Abhijit

Thanks to the admins for approving my request and hello all on this group. I took delivery of the TNT 300 (red color) last week at Bangalore and came across the discussions on this group, great discussions and information that has been shared on the TNT 300 and I am sure it will be extremely useful for me . Done about 200 kms since last week mainly on long rides outside the city and have no intentions to ride in city except to the service center. My initial experience has been WOW on the TNT 300 and will share my experience as I use the bike more frequently. I saw that the advice is to use unleaded petrol oct 93 or above , which is the fuel that is available at Shell outlets in Bangalore which meet this requirement. I am in North of Bangalore in Sahakarnagar and would be glad to meet Benelli owners in this part of the city.

                    Regards
                    Nitin

Saw a white TNT300 near Lalbagh, Bangalore around 11:30am today. The rider was wearing a white helmet. Anyone from here ?

The exhaust note is awesome. Sounds like a batman bike..
