Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
They sprayed a lot of Chain cleaner and checked the chain setting when I complained about chain getting loose in 400 kms.they did some adjustment which I don't know and said chain should be tightened after 1000kms.Originally posted by superiorsuresh View PostHow was the chain noise problem solved? Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Good news ! Today my brother in law also but a new blue color CB hornet 160R from jamshedpur. It's co-incidental, as he was not aware that we also have purchased the same bike few days back.
I have done around 950 kms so far and i have not done any chain adjustment, running fine without any noise or issue.Originally posted by Motomonster View PostThey sprayed a lot of Chain cleaner and checked the chain setting when I complained about chain getting loose in 400 kms.they did some adjustment which I don't know and said chain should be tightened after 1000kms.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
No such issues as per me but i would suggest to check the tyre pressure before taking delivery. Correct tyre pressure are 25 psi for front and 29 psi for rear when ridden with pillion. Also, visit a good local accessories shop before going to honda accessories and compare price, quality and your liking to these. If you can get good deal outside, go with them.Originally posted by teamSpidey View Postgoing to order hornet in 2-3 days.it was a tie between gixxer and this one but finally decided to go with hornet.
owners can tell me if there are any issues with the bike which i must know of or any other advice.
Even while buying the accessories from honda first take a look at accessories and then buy, don't buy without seeing or experiencing in the name of genuine accessories
.

After the pressure change from 60 psi to 29 psi which is reported earlier, i went for a ride yesterday evening and found the stiff suspension thing which i was reporting earlier is gone.
So, the only complain which i was having is gone now and i am super happy though i may loose little bit on the FE anyway 60 psi for 29 psi is too much.
I see the number of hornets on road increasing gradually and the owners seems to love parking next to the other hornet i.e. my hornet. It happened at least twice in the last week. Posting images of them below.
I wonder why honda is not running much promotion for the hornet why it's competitors for say old Yamaha FZ, hero extreme is running so many advertisements on TV. Before visiting the showroom for CBR 150 i was not aware of the fact that hornet is there. Incidentally on the very next day after i visited show room, it was in the our local news paper which comes to home
.
Taken last sunday, it was taken at a two wheeler parking lot, my bike is on right. I got confused and put key in the other bike first and then realised.
Taken yesterday, my bike is on left. Wife got confused and put helmet on the other initially. I have put the orange rim sticker which are shining.Last edited by Satyajit Mohanta; 04-10-2016, 03:55 PM.

Oil change intervals?
Hello riders,
What's general schedule for oil change and refill for Engine and breaks? Any other oil changes?
Can engine oil change be done by us at home? Do we need specific torque wrenches?
My engine oil has turned brownish yellow after 800 KM running after 1st service. How to check if oil was drained and filter cleaned?
Please advise.

Having good time with bike so far. Completed 1280 km now, 2 months since I got the bike.
Initial mileage for 900 km was 58+. I rode very gently below 55 kmph.
After that started speeding gently like 60, 70, 80 so far. Now mileage is around 50.
Need to hit reserve and re-check mileage.
Anyways, can our beloved Hornet run comfortably at speeds of 90-105 kmph for 10-15 km continuously or 40-50 km a day? Top speed is 120 as per different YouTube videos.
Bike feels very powerful after 60 kmph speed!
CBS breaking is little slower as compared to other bikes, it works, but freeplay is 2-3 cms.
Gearbox feels different when bike is running for 30+ minutes in traffic conditions. Fuel gauge isn't very accurate.
Does 1 line count for 1.7 litres in Main and reserve fuel is stored 1.7 litres, right?
Bike's sharp stance gives powerful appeal, generally people don't mess up around in traffic.

Neutral comes up many times from 1st to 2nd, needs to be flicked harder.
Headlight on dark highways not helpful at all, it scares me when can't see the road.
Do you kickstart or button start 1st time of the day? I do kickstart, as button may draw more battery.
Need to install side foot rest for lady pillion rider, do you know approx cost?
Suspension is still not smooth, although bumps-potholes feeling has reduced as compared to 1 month before.
How frequently chain needs tightening and cost of it?
So long so good. Dunno if Mineral or Synthetic oil was poured in, how to check and decide if it needs to be replaced?
Ride well!!!
Please help me on above concerns. It's troublesome.

You should definitely go for this bike.Originally posted by teamSpidey View Postgoing to order hornet in 2-3 days.it was a tie between gixxer and this one but finally decided to go with hornet.
owners can tell me if there are any issues with the bike which i must know of or any other advice.
Just consider following cons:- No foot rest for lady pillion riders like on other bikes.
- Nothing to grab on bike for lady pillion riders.
- Lots of dust accumulation on sharp edges of bike.
- Gearbox stays very tight for 1st 1000 KMs. If you ride on your sandals, your toe will get hurt.
- CBS breaking takes time to get into effectiveness and habit.
- Headlight comes in Y shape, not Circular or Rectangular. Thus, headlight focus little away from point.
- May be uncomfortable for old ladies to climb and seat on highted seat.
- Pickup in low gear and RPM low.
(This is what I felt, I ride gently ) - Fuel indicator not accurate.
Now the pros!!- Superb styling! People admire and keep looking at bike for long time. 1-2 minutes when parked, in traffic.
As long as they can see on moving road!

Kids love the bike! I've seen lots of them, just staring at bike.
- Superb 4000+ RPM power range. Acceleration of 50-90 is heavenly!!! It's so much to overtake speeding cars in traffic.
Even 90-105 kmph is respectable while overtaking. - Pilot lamps and X-shaped tale light gives marvelous feeling.
- Powerful stance in traffic. People won't trouble you much when you're on Hornet!

For ex: Take splendor out and see the difference - Wide tyres give lots of confidence on sharp corners and turns. Also big bike feel!!
- Bike height on rear tyre is awesome! Others behind you will feel it's powerful bike!
(Only if you ride it at appropriate speeds) - Mileage is 55+ if you ride it gently even in City. If you ride it very aggressively, mileage will drop.
- Wide tank feels like, you're cutting through the road. It also cools down the engine. There are air-vents.
I'll update the list, if I think of something more. Hope it helps.
PS: 1440 KM riding in 2 months.
