Switch to Shell AX7, very good oil. No heating unlike Honda oils.

But I see this sales figures.... and Honda seems to be doing too good....

And most of the honda two wheelers have seen only growth year on year...

It is certainly not falling like Greece economy... Or am I missing any point?
I agree with you. As per these numbers honda has been doing well. The numbers are twice that of bajaj or TVS.

        Edit:

But if you see at the numbers at january and march honda is on decline.

In both jan and march it has ~ -4 % month on month growth, feb seems to be good month where it has growth of ~ 4% as mentioned in the link you have posted.

In december 2015 it has growth MOM at - 11.90%, november 2015 -11.82 %, post december looks likes numbers are improving. Is it effect of our hornet which was launched in dec 2015?

On the point about price of spare parts it's been known that honda or hero honda parts are costlier than bajaj or tvs but have better quality and are lesser prone to failure, which i have been hearing from a decade or so. While this is correct, there is a other way to look at it, which is can say from common generalisation and experience.

Like i mentioned in some other posts in this thread, apart from the new CB Hornet 160r i am also having another bike Yamaha gladiator 125 cc for 7 years. It was dedicated bike for me i.e. i was the only rider in this 7 year in most cases. So i certainly know about the bike and it's maintenance in detail. In these 7 years i have only replaced speedo meter cable twice and chain sprocket once apart from the oil changes. Now with the new bike being their i am looking to handover the bike to some body.

So, in the life time of owning the bike if you change the speed meter cable twice and chain sprocket once then how is cost difference matters if you do it once in a 3 year or so with price difference less than Rs 50 (assuming).

So, as per me while the price difference may be there it's not effective till you have to change it and this should not be criterion on which any one should choose a honda / yamaha vs a bajaj / tvs.

Hope i am making sense though these are my thoughts.

It is 10w40. Very good for summers. It is semi-synthetic. I used it before I switched to 7100. There was hardly any difference between 7100 and AX7.

You can get it at any Shell station for 400. Some dealers offer it for 350 or lesser. Google it, there are many reviews.

Is it better than the Honda mineral oil? What is drain period ?any effect on Fe ?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions.

No problem. In my opinion it is better than Honda mineral oil. The engine doesn't heat up as much. Drain period around 2500km. Fe reduced by 1-2kmpl, but gear shifts and overall the bike is smoother.

One thing I've noticed is that the Honda oil doesn't hold on highway cruising. Just a 200km ride at an average of 80-90kmph, and the bike began feeling rough and heated up. Shell is much better in this aspect.

Paint quality is good but fiber tanks are scratch prone and swirl marks appear easily.

I have dealt with two hona asc... one in kerala and other in karnataka... both of them treated me so good. .. they noted down evry concern of mine and acted with too much courtesy... and man!!! The way they dealt with the bike while servicing... even I am not that cautious with my bike.... and they also had called back to me couple of days later to know feedback about the rectified concerns which I had mentioned.

I am afraid if I had replied as though I am a honda fanboy.... I was never trying to be one.... but their service and product (hornet, in my case) were too good to complain about.
Does Matrix Honda have an outlet in Manipal? I know they have it in Udupi too. Very good folks. The manager in Mangalore(their main dealer i think) is in constant touch with all other Matrix Honda dealerships. Helps me order parts and stores it for me in advance even if he has to personally ride 60kms himself.

As for oil, I use Shell 10W40 for my 250R. Sometimes I alternate to Honda 10W30 FS too.

                        Hello owners,
Are you guys still facing the chain loose issue?
I am. The chain is getting loose in less than 200 kms after adjusting resulting in jerky ride, increased noise and decreased mileage..
Please help this is the only problem i found with this bike.

They have their outlet in udupi town only. And I go there. Manipal doesn't have any Honda Asc as such. Udupi town is just 5-6 kms away from manipal.
Yeah, they are really very good bunch of people.

Guys, do me and Shreeni0403 a favor.

Please measure the distance between the front disc bolts (from center of one bolt to another, as shown in the attached pic) using a thread and measure the same on a scale/ruler.
Also, please inquire about its cost from the ASC.
