I also think same, if certain way was to be followed the manufacture would have specified it. In my previous bike and two cara i never followed these as i was not aware of it, i think these were not mentioned in manual, i certainly go through the manual. Though, my driving style is not hard it would certainly fall in the low rpm range. I wonder what would be happening to the test drive vehicles with people redlining to check top speed etc.

In volkswagen case engine comes factory loaded with full synthetic oil, i don't remember service person or sales mentioning same before delivery, same was in case of yamaha also.

Here is the snapshot of the CB Hornet owner's manual, which says about engine run in, it's at page 38.

I was going through the honda official site to check tyre size difference between CB Hornet 160 r and CBR 150 R and found some interesting facts related to other specifications, it shows how very value for money in CB Hornet 160 r, it matches CBR 150 R in many parameters and crosses in some. With price difference of Rs 43517, it makes hornet 160 R very value for money as per me, not for forget the FE factor, low rpm performance and resell value.

How do you all see these specification difference?

I also want to know what max net power means. Does it mean engine must to be revved to that rpm to extract the power and is it maximum? What will happen when the rpm crosses that limit, no more power output or rpm will not go beyond that point?

Max speed of cbr150r is 109 kmph? That's a laugh. As per some reviews the CBR150 can do 145 kmph speedo. 40k extra is not for the extra plastic alone. 😼

Is it speedo or GPS/vbox tested? I'm getting conflicting info from different sources

Certainly it's not . CB Hornet 160R and CBR 150R belong to different classes altogether and are not be compared side by side (nor anybody does), to me it look interesting so put it to be look in a different way or perspective. I was a prospective CBR 150R customer and went honda showroom to enquire about it, that's when i saw and came to know about hornet 160R. So, in short i went for CBR 150R but bought 160R. So, the facts makes it even more interesting to me as it was tough for me to select one while these two belong to different classes and my better half liked CBR (and R15)

It's official specification and i don't think they would show a lesser value then actual as it will produce negative result. I checked with other sites also there also same speed is mentioned, again it's very less in comparison to top speed of it's chief competitor yamaha R15 which is at 131 kmph.

As you will be knowing the specifications are calculated in standard conditions which are followed by all manufactures like road, tyre pressure, load etc otherwise many spams will happen as many people just go by the numbers. So we have to believe manufacture's claim as they know their engine better and there is legality.

Anybody's claim can not be taken as standard as it will not be authentic unless all steps are followed.

On other note, specification of the new 2016 cbr is out (though it's for indonesia), check it out at http://www.astra-honda.com/produk/ke...r#.VvLQxvl95dg.

Well, I own a cbr250. Which has a top speed of 145-154 each time I test it. On a flat road. The steps I followed were -fill petrol- twist throttle-look at speedo. Now, what does Honda say about the CBR250 top speed? 130, iirc. So, is my bike a mutant? Or is the website showing false info? Many 250 owners report similar top speeds.

Comparison on paper is different, real life is different. You should speak to owners before buying a bike, not rely on spec sheet alone.

Yes, tried to edit the post and it got deleted again.

I have reported the delete issue to admins.

I have the xbhp connect app but it's not having Facebook connect option, so I have to join by another account without Facebook.

hey guys, got a problem, sometimes i noticed that over 90 hornet become sluggish, is this bcoz of chain loose ? one more thing is there - on my way to office there are 2 freeways where i can throttle as much as i want, ok now the real part , after engine reached is optimum temperature on the first freeway when i tried to reach the maximum speed lets say around 120, i cudnt hit it,, and on the second freeway i can easily hit it - where as the second way isnt long as the first. now my question if its bcoz of chain then how i manage to get it on second freeway , which i cudnt hit on the first ?

I don't think anything is wrong. Bike will feel bit sluggish when engine is not warm enough. It takes a bit of time for engine to warm up. So try to ride around 3-4k rpms for first 3kms or so and gradually increase the throttle. May be it's easy on second freeway because the bike gets sufficiently warm by the time you get there.

Also there will be difference when one of the freeways you mentioned is a bit upward/downward slope.

It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

Thanx for swift reply satish, but i forgot to tell u guys that frst freeway us abt 7kms from my home and until that i ride at 3-4k rpm.and also both freeways are same abt down n up.so, i think the frst time engine is not warming up for its optimum temperature? N also not warming up after 7kms of riding isnt normal ?

It also depends on atmospheric temperature brother.. In the early mornings it takes more time.. In winters or cold conditions it takes even more time.. I think it's fine in your case.. Try to idle the bike for 2-3 minutes before you start moving..

Satish, i do that idle part on regular basis on cokd start, and abt the atmosphere lets wait n watch maybe this is the case.
