Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
It'll make a great tourer too as it can hold 90-100 all day long. Already working on a windshield project for the highways. The RTR 200 is surprisingly so underrated despite being right up there in performance terms in the 200cc segment.Originally posted by IamAditya View Post

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
The review was rather biased. The reviewer said the bike is extremely vibey above 60-70kmph, which frankly is a big pile of baloney. It's the smoothest 200cc out there. By far. Period.Originally posted by JS16So I assume you've done 175 on your Pulsar Under 10 seconds?
Which naked motorcycle is for top speed? If you are looking for a street fighter with top speed, you'll find none!
As said i would go 3 secs faster on a laptop on RTR than going 0.5secs faster on a straight than a NS200.
In That video, the person who has lost his riding gears is reviewing the bike. And a person who doesn't respect his gears has no sense whatsoever. And top speed in kolkata? You kidding me bro? I am from Kolkata and trust me you don't go beyond 40kmph.
He also seemed to forget that it's a 200cc motorcycle and not his Hayabusa which he thrashes around the NH2 every weekend. So, 'performance' will always be relative. Not everyone is looking for 0-100 in 4 seconds and 300kmph top speeds. Not everyone wants the the surroundings to become a blur every time you hit the saddle.
It's weird as to how so many people want to put down the RTR 200. I shifted from a Yamaha and still am a fanboy, but I gave TVS a chance with an open mind. I am glad I did!

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
In 200 cc class currently FZ25 and Apache 200 are the two reliable products, apache 200 is nice offering by TVS which is underrated, everything on this bike is near to perfect, I love that clean instrument console. But what frustrates me is the attitude of TVS by ignoring Indian market by not launching FI versions, they would easily have captured major market share if they would have launched it before FZ25.Originally posted by ALI.R View PostIt's weird as to how so many people want to put down the RTR 200. Yes, read that overdrive review completely?Originally posted by tanishqEven if we take acceleration timings into the consideration... Rtr200 hold on its own.. & the funny thing is that.. if u Search the article of overdrive where they put this one against the duke200 & rs200.. suprsingly rtr200 was matching the timings of rs200 on the track.. this is how well balanced this bike is. Its just that ppl are jumping over the conclusion without testing it properly.
I still remember, duke200 with mighty metzelers, rtr200 with pirellis and rs200 with mrf!
That would be a track ride comparison between duke and rtr, not with rs(with those mrfs).

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
I am actually unaware of the issue. As I took delivery barely a month ago, I hope TVS would have looked into the issue. That said, I am facing no trouble whatsoever with the braking, especially now that they've bedded in properly.Originally posted by JS16Well i can prove this arrogant person wrong but then what's the point wasting time on someone who is not ready to accept the facts?
Guys better get going, and let's post something which is constructive.
The 2nd batch RTR owners, did you get the front master cylinder for the brake changed? Apparently a few of them have choppy feedback as pointed out by powerdrift.
Braking on the RTR has made me go back to the basics. Lol. On my FZ, I could get away with just the front brake even in times of hard braking (of course have a 110 Metzeler and steel braided line helped). But on the RTR, I am having to use the rear brake too proportionately, to ensure that the bike arrows to a standstill under hard braking. Really liking the feel of the brakes now!
I realise my braking technique was a bit iffy. 😂 The learning never ends!Last edited by ALI.R; 03-25-2017, 12:25 AM.

Also, the brakes become amazing over time as you clock more miles with them. The FZ brakes feel very wooden to me :P maybe coz i rode the RTR before fz hehe

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Yes it was already in the showroom by then. It was quite the dilemma about whether to continue with the FZ series or go for the RTR.Originally posted by Retro View PostWas the FZ25 available when you bought your RTR?
In the end, chose the RTR as it made more sense at least to me, especially after the test drive. Of course, I did not ride the FZ25, but having owned the Fz16 for 4 years, I knew what to expect. It's a Yamaha, and you can't go wrong with a Yamaha.
With a sixth gear and option for ABS, I would have bought it with my eyes closed. But it offered neither and suddenly the RTR at a full 30,000 cheaper made far more sense. So bought it!
Feels weird to say this, but it's nearly as refined as the Yamaha with equal if not better levels of fit and finish. Plus better console, better suspension and tyre options.
