The head light should be priced much lower in coming months as the production increases as its one of the most needed parts in case of an accident.
Wondering why it costs so much there are few Leds only which are easy to find in market. More over those are not very hight wattage also so not so much stressed due to heat. Headlight prices should be around 2to 4k in coming months to be on the practical side of things but it's just a hope. Still doubt that 8k figure.
There is always an option to replace the Headlight unit with purely classic 8 inch round head light from fiero fx or himalayan or even thunderbird s projector Reflector setup. The mountings are easy to find though online shopping portal s.
It's a good platform to work upon. Nothing can be tailor made that meets every one s requirement.

However, LED generally have longer life span, compared to regular filaments. There was this one time when the bulb blew up in my Gusto. They replaced the entire head unit because of a known issue(all under warranty). On the other hand, here in Pune, bike costs 1.78lkhs on road. Which is supposed to be cheaper compared to Hyderabad. I hope you going through an authorized channel. Because the price can never be less than Pune, By my experience.
Here in Gujarat Ahmedabad the ABS modal costs 1,74,000 on road(without any bargaining).

Mileage figures are 27 kmpl (100% city) n ~36 kmpl (highway) for me..
Seems like the mileage hovers around 27-28 for riders who ride enthusiastically but more than 30 for the monks among us

Guys, anyone felt the need to top up the engine oil until now? M at 2900 kms on odo n the engine oil level is almost at bottom.. Any suggestions on Total vs Motul? I ride out of town only once in a couple of months, else always within Delhi NCR..So heating is a major thing what with Delhi's heat..My knees usually get roasted in the noon+fan heat whenever I have to step out on my Domi

Hello, I would not put anything else till the warranty period expires. But then, I think we are talking about different issue here. If it's the engine heating issue you want to address, I suggest you check the collant. Here in Pune, temprature has gone up to 40+ celcius. The only time I faced heating issue is when the collant level have dropped below the minimum level indicator.
And yet again, because the oil level has gone low, you should check the engine area for any oil leakges. Specifically the bottom right area where the round cylindrical cap sits.

Really looking forward to getting my hands on my white D400 , got it booked yesterday. It was this thread and couple others which let me zero onto D400 , TBH500 was also on my radar.

            Hey Buddies,

Got my white D400 today, rode around 30 Kms in Bangalore traffic. Few observations -
            1. I am used to riding P200 DTSi, so found D400 quite hot in bumper to bumper traffic, esply, around the tank-pad area and felt the seat getting heated up too sometimes. I assume it could be because of regular clutch usuage and gear-changes(keeping the RPMs < 4k). Finding it really tough(have to check the speedo again n again and remind myself) to switch from 1st to 2nd at around 11 km/hr as suggested in manual.

            2. Once parked, and after around 10 mins of ride, the petrol flap and area around it gets heated up. Is it because of heat-transfer from the FI-Pump ?

            Any suggestions would help..

            Cheers,
            Rohit

                      Hello Rohit,
at 11Kmph, you will lug the engine! recommended speed per the manual (very unrealistic and can be managed) is 13-14kmph.
about the heating issue, I think its just a new bike trait. eventually it runs smoother and cooler.

I was not offered extended warranty. When enquired at Jai Bajaj in Chennai, I was told they don't have any.
