its been about 10 days since i took delivery of my dominar 2019 black. done around 800 kms now and also completed my 1st service wiht a long ride to chennai. all through the journey i was very concious about not ripping the bike as it was still in run-in. when i completed my ride and took it to the 1st service i observed a strange noise from the valves seating. not sure if its the atuo-decomp or the shims placement. anyways picked up the bike as i was in a hurry and told the mechanic that i would like to get it rectified as he said it would take an entire day removing the tank etc. hopefully it gets rectified. not a major problem but kinda disappointed that it has happened this soon. my previous honda cbr250R got this issue at around 5k kms.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hey Guys
Just wanted to know whether anyone has tried changing sprocket with bigger sprocket or smaller one with their dominar.
Its beacause i just saw a video where the guy replaces rear sprocket with a new one which has more teeth which increses its acceleration but reduces its top speed.
If anyone has done this type mods let me know your experience.

I used this on my yamaha sz ...it 's a plastic one and lock got faulty within six months and then hingies broke within one year of purchase..so I removed it.Originally posted by fireblade777 View PostThe box is not a direct fit. Some of the clamps had to be altered. One or two clamps not provided with the box were also used. The box was placed in such a way that the pillon doesn't have any difficulty in keeping the right leg on the foot rest. Ask your local studds box retailers about workshops which do the fitting. For those who are not satisfied with the braking performance of the bike I would recommend you to upgrade to Ebc Sintered pads in the front and SBS Ceramic pads (or Ebc) at the rear. The braking performance improves drastically especially with the Ebc pads. The bite is really sharp and progressive with instant reposnse. But you need good tyres to keep up with the brakes or you'll keep triggering the abs with aggressive braking.
The Ebc front pad model which fits the Dominar is FA181 HH.
Upgraded my tyres to the Pirelli Diablo rosso ii, there is a noticeable difference in the grip levels and braking compared to stock mrf. Just hope they last for 12-15k kms considering our road conditions.
Got my 15k kms service done recently and switched the oil from motul 7100 to Liqui Moly street race. Will share the experience after a while since a freshly serviced bike always feels smooth. Also replaced the chain and sprocket set with the brass plated one from Rolon. The stock one is an O-ring type and the one by Rolon is X-ring type.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Wind blast is becoming a challenge. Is there a better wind blast protecting/deflecting windshield available ? I did check out the ones from Carbon Racing and Autologue. Both have distinct designs but which is better at the job ? Has anyone Installed either or maybe have had an experience with both ?
Please if y'all may assist with this query it'll be highly appreciated.
Peace !

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
If my memory serves me right, the Dominar at least till the recent update, uses a six hole rear sprocket with .520 pitch and 112 links. Again, I could be wrong, since I am basing that with the KTM Duke 390 which uses the same setup, stock.Originally posted by sman999 View PostCan anyone please confirm if the pitch of the dominars chain is 420 and the no links on the chain is 120?
Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
hey i installed carbon racing visor after the 2nd day of my bike delivery. windblast has considerably reduced and looks way better than any other aftermarket visor currently in the market. though looks are subjective i feel you get to choose between clear, smoked and black. i chose the smoked visor and so far its good. no rattles or vibrations. fitting also is no hassle. Also when u buy the visor make sure you buy it along with the number plate extension bracket as the stock one wont fit post changing the visor to carbonracing. They sell it as a kit. hope this helpsOriginally posted by rookster View PostWind blast is becoming a challenge. Is there a better wind blast protecting/deflecting windshield available ? Thank you for responding. The Carbon one is taller than the others, isnt it ? Does that help with deflecting wind blasts ? At what speeds did you feel its worth ?Originally posted by vatsa View Posthey i installed carbon racing visor after the 2nd day of my bike delivery. windblast has considerably reduced and looks way better than any other aftermarket visor currently in the market. though looks are subjective i feel you get to choose between clear, smoked and black. i chose the smoked visor and so far its good. no rattles or vibrations. fitting also is no hassle. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
It certainly help reflecting wind blasts. I tried upto 125kmph. I don't have any YouTube channel. You can search YouTube for dominar visor and you will come across many videos.Originally posted by rookster View PostThank you for responding. The Carbon one is taller than the others, isnt it ? Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Yes its taller and they also claim to have wind tunnel tested. So it should deflect winds at high speeds technically. Dont expect it to offer protection like the fully faired bikes. It can deflect good amount of wind away from your chest which is what is the intended purpose of the visor is.Originally posted by rookster View PostThank you for responding. Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Thanks VJ. I'm damn sure that the links on the stock chain are 120. I had seen the no of links mentioned on the retail spare box. And also the KTM has a smaller swing arm compared to the dominar so it could not be 112 for sure.
But I heard that the pitch is 420 and I have no idea about it. Any ways to measure it manually or identify?
I have a 42 teeth rolon rear sprocket and 15 teeth stock front sprocket seperately. Now I want a chain that can be altered(revitted) accordingly. The stock one and rolon chains are long for a 42 teeth rear sprocket. I'm especially looking for DID chain. I need to know the specs to order the chain.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
try rs200 chain . 520 is the lenght between two consecutive rivets on chain . so the sprockets r made according to it & cant be used with 428.Originally posted by sman999 View PostThanks VJ.
