Ok. Look out for other Service Centers then.

Cyclo followed by Motul are much better lubes than Yamalube. Just a suggestion so that you dont keep your bike chain dry!

Cheaper alternative is to used 90w Gear Oil for chain.

Never use Petrol/Kerosene for cleaning the chain. Diesel is better option.

As suggested in manual. Clean chain with soapy water then with chain cleaner. Let is dry for sometime before lubing.
Check youtube for tutorials.

Incase you cant find lubes, go for 90w Gear Oil.

Hi Yamalube cleaner and lube in India is the same Motul C1 and C2 relabelled. In Bangalore Yamalube is available in some showrooms. For Motul can try Amazon.

FZ25 have o-ring chain which should not be lube with gear oil. Find a lubing agent that is designed for o-ring chain.

O-ring chain can be clean with kerosene and diesel. I think owner book doesn't recommend to use kerosene or diesel as these are inflammable items and can cause injury. You can google to find out information on this. You do not need to remove chain off the bike, clean as is.

As a stated above do not use gear oil on o-ring chain, otherwise the manual would have suggested to do that. Instead it says "lubricate with a SPECIAL O-Ring chain lubricant", nowhere it says gear oil. You will find gear oil recommendation in the manual of bike with non o-ring chains.

I confirmed with an expert here. Lubing with gear oil is more difficult to clean. Gear oil has a sticking properties therefore it is recommended on chains and not engine oil.

Also, the o-ring chain requires more maintenance than non o-ring. Clean and lube at every 500km. More frequently on raining season.

I am no expert in chain lubing.
But based on many forums (national or international) and my own experiences with R15 and 390. Gear oil can very well used with O-Ring chains.

O-Ring chains come with a rubber seal which covers the joint between the links. They are internally greased.

Whatever lubing done is not for O-Rings. It is done for reducing friction between chain rollers and sprocket.

Since petrol is reactive with rubber, it is not suggested to use for chain cleaning.

Gear oil is cheaper alternative for chain lubes and used very much. I usually use gear oil during monsoons and post monsoons because of dusty roads.

Gear oil can be use but it is difficult to clean when it comes to frequent cleaning. And cleaning everytime after riding in rain or dusty roads. Gear oil attract more dust and would require more cleaning agent to clean specially when you use spray for it. I mean more messy to clean.

paul.1911 - gear oil is recommended by the CBR 250 manual for the CBR which has an o-ring chain.
I've used gear oil, engine oil, and 2T oil to lube my bike chain. So far, it's lasted longer than other CBR owners who use "recommended" "especially for o -rings" chain lube. I don't even need to clean the chain, or use a grunge brush, I just dab a cloth with the oil and swipe the chain with it. Every Satuday. The result is a chain that's 39,720 kms running and still good for another 500 kms I think.
