Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
FZ25 should not ne ridden smooth..yes smooth acceleration/lesser gear change increases FE. But 14k in odo i learnt the optimum rpm to shift gear is at or around 5k. Taking the rpm to max torque more often increase the smoothness of the engine and gear.Originally posted by Joe29 View Post

Ride it for a while.... triple tree misalignment should cause improper tyre wear in front. That shoul give you a good indication. Also keep your tyre pressure in check...Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThey tried to adjust the alignment, and failed. They insisted that nothing was wrong and that the problem could be in my head.
There's definitely a problem with the fork or the triple tree.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Its been 14k Km's on the odo.. motorcycle feels much better than what it was before. Although occationally felt misalignment in the front. Was able to correct it by refilling the tyre pressure. Rear fish tails a lot more than my liking and losing confidence.. hence had to adjust my riding style and break well im advance than hard breaking. A lot of wheel spin at all gears under hard acceleration. Though all these can be sorted with new set of wheels, decided to continue with the current one for a while to observe bike's handling. My issues now is, when ridden at 2.5 to 3k rpm in 2nd gear constantly for about 3 to 5 min, engine shuts off for a brief moment and then comes back on. The same can observed when riding for about 2 min in 2.5k rpm and then opening the throttle (gradually ofcourse). Also when shifting to 3rd and powering up there is slight hesitant from the engine to accelerate. This is been there since i bought... Two services gone and the diagnosis is normal. Though it wasnt bad before, now it has become more frequent. Planing to visit service center this weekend, but would love to get my fellow rider's feedback.. has anyone felt the same? Or what could be the issue?

You're probably using bad quality petrol. Use injector cleaning liquid once. Your shutting down symptom is usually due to a dirty injector.Originally posted by Harrisoncool View PostMy issues now is, when ridden at 2.5 to 3k rpm in 2nd gear constantly for about 3 to 5 min, engine shuts off for a brief moment and then comes back on. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yeah that's in all fz25s. You'll have to ignore that sound. If you ask SVC to fix it, they'll tighten the valves and then your acceleration will be hampered. So use ear plugs and ride.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostPost my 4th service, i have a fairly loud rattling sound from the bike. Comes only after 4500rpm/70 kph. There are no other symptoms. Bike accellerates beautifully, no vibrations anywhere, just this rattling noise. Anyone?

Haha. But it has suddenly started. So it might be something loose too.Originally posted by hemanta View PostYeah that's in all fz25s. You'll have to ignore that sound. If you ask SVC to fix it, they'll tighten the valves and then your acceleration will be hampered. So use ear plugs and ride.

Hi if the tappets are adjusted right, slight sound does come at that rpm. A more serious rattle could also come if the plate inside the timing chain cover has come loose. One possibilityOriginally posted by JyotishmanS View PostPost my 4th service, i have a fairly loud rattling sound from the bike. Comes only after 4500rpm/70 kph. There are no other symptoms. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
No tappet adjustment done till now. Sound seems to come right from the center of the bottom of tank. No noise in idle though, so probably isn't the timing chain. Odo reading is 15300 by the way.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi if the tappets are adjusted right, slight sound does come at that rpm. I dont think its fuel quality... using this pump for almost a decade now.. its company owned BP. Any way.. will ask for injector clean..in my next visit.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostYou're probably using bad quality petrol. Use injector cleaning liquid once. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Tappets could also be it as not adjusted in some time. Mine goes very very slightly out of spec when checked at 5000km intervals. Not the timing chain, there is a plate inside the cover which will rattle at a certain rpm if loose. It was what was coming loose in that recall tightening scenario.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostNo tappet adjustment done till now. Okay bro, will get it checked. By the way, my bike was part of the recall. And regarding tappets, slightly sceptical about touching them too much as they're a very sensitive part.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostTappets could also be it as not adjusted in some time. Hi Ramdante,Originally posted by ramdante View PostHi Prajy, If you can share, can you let me know what motorcycle's engine guard/belly is that? And where did you get that done? Looks pretty neat, and enhances the looks.
The Engine Belly pan belongs to TVS RTR 160 and got it done by myself as only 2 z shaped clamps were used to tighten it.

Has anyone here serviced the brake calipers and master cylinder yet ? Some dust seal and o seal due for periodic replacement and I wanted to know what it would cost.
Anyone knows how to access the ECU? Some parameters I think need to be set from the diagnostics screen.
Regarding Airfilter I bought it from the nearby Spare Parts shop and not in Yamaha authorized center. maybe they have cheated me.
I have serviced my caliper in nearby Mechanic shop as i did a offroad riding for couple of day and it was really muddy. he did not replace any Oring or any seal. Just cleaned it and fixed it. Also got my Rear disc pad changed for 399 bought from amazon and service centre quoted more than 800. and i really dont see any difference in OEM and aftermarket Braks and i also feel the after market braks durability is good compared to yamaha's
