It's a big machine, it is not that delicate. Don't worry, it will be fine.

I too guess that error could show up at lower speeds as well. You checked the top speed recorder before giving the bike for service right?
I've been to the said svc. Now, if you have no complaints, and periodic service is all that is needed then the svc guys won't test ride until the customer goes there to pick the bike at eve. They ride it, in front of us on that lane only. Next time up check it with the odo readings. Ok, even if they ride there is no place near that svc where one could take it above 70km/hr.

P.S. Careful about your running in. Follow the manual (not only the 50km/hr thing, but keep the revs below 4k too and vary your speeds).

The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

      • One thing forgot to mention, error (160 kmph) can come at any time and at any speed. I had replaced my speedo, and since then error never came. May be you guys can also claim for new speedo under warranty.

        • Thanks all for your informative replies...
Rtrlover83- i have checked my high speed indicator before giving the bike for service, it was 78 km/hr and that too clocked by the service guys and you are right there is no road nearby where they could have taken it to speeds above 70. thanks again

coz when i was at the svc he revved my bike till 12k and when he left it the rpm needle came to an imaginary '-1k' mark!!
so he opened the gauge and moved the needle back to 0!! its all fine now!!

p.s. if u gonna try this then remember it only moves anti clockwise while stationary!! so dont try to rotate it the other way round!
Yup the needle comes back to 0 mark when I switch off. Must be some problem with the unit itself. Will show it in the SC on my next service.

              Welcome to the forum..
Hope your worries are over now..

              @dj18deepak, @Rtrlover83
Is there long waiting periods after booking service @ logtech too ?
I got my menace from Anton and there I have to book service 8-10 days ahead..
mine is scheduled for first service next week..clocked about 650kms..
Overall which svc is better in your experience ?
Also, can we switch svc if needed before free services are over ?

              • Hey Guys,

My RTR 180 has clocked 5100 kms on the ODO. Can anyone please help me out with which oil to use? Last time at the SVC they had used MAK 4T oil 10W40.

The only issue that i face is when the bike gets a bit hot, the vibrations increase and there is some sought of roughness..

TVS service centers only use TVS Tru4 engine oil.

Lots of options: pick any Castrol, Motul, Shell, Elf. Motul is the best among them. Just be sure to change it regularly (I change oil every 1.5k kms and currently use Shell SS 10w40)

                  • @saleem: thanks for the invite
my first service was scheduled on 25th of september...i went there on 22nd september and my bike was booked for service on 13th of october...the svc guys told me to change the engine oil and filter as it had clocked around 700 kms...so i had it changed by a local mechanic and had my 1st service done yesterday....except for the high speed indicator everything was ok for me

                        Guys,

Any idea about ARE to be held in Pune this sunday Oct 16th? I saw a hoarding on Bund Garden Road about it but I couldn't find any info about it on the ARE site.
