  • Rtr abs

Guys i am planning to buy the ABS 180 next week after a lot thinking. Anyways i have a few queries regarding the bike :

    1) The Vibration issue which everyone is talking about, is there too much vibration on higher speeds ?
    2) My daily riding would be of total 40kms which includes traffic and also highway. Mix of both.
    3) Is the ABS a Combined ABS ?
    4) Any engine heating issue ?

Waiting for the reply... Soon to be a Apache Owner

I think it might be the engine oil issue. First of all lot of fake castrol oil is available in the market. I would suggest to go for 10w40 semi-synthetic Shell oil (AX7). I have done a couple of long trips with this & its been awesome without much fast overheating and negligable vibrations...btw overheating do happen especially when you ride for long hours or insanely during afternoons...Regarding the tappet noise get it rectified from svc..but before that change the oil and check out...

Naah, the head is never opened. Actually I was talking about the unburnt fuel(not the engine oil) getting getting condensed/trapped with the dust particles around the opening (where we install the plug). The head is neither opened, nor the bike ran for last 14-15 days. Then howcome it happened? Thats whats bugging me.

The answer to the first part lies in the question itself...by overheating of the engine what i meant was- the engine gets abnormally hot within the first 2 to 3 kms.... as if i was riding it continuously for a long period of time without giving it a break(tuning was done by the svc mech for the same but still no respite from the overheating).....no my bike does not stall due to the overheating...the engine oil level is perfect....my main concern is the fuel leak from the fuel drain pipe due to which the bike wasnt starting...wanted to know wether any of you have experienced it & if yes then what was the solution incorporated for the same.

            1. You need to test ride it, you will forget worrying about any vibrations and concentrate more on how the bike roars . If the bike is properly serviced and tuned, you will not have any noticable/irritating vibs!

            2. no its not C-ABS like the CBR. It is independent! Worth every penny if you can afford it.

            3. Not at all! (i've done 20k in the last 1 year since i owned the 180 and havent faced any issues at all ever! )

Just curious, what bike are you riding now?

            • Hello Guys!
A few noob questions coming up!
              1) What is the part that is in the image(The one with 2 screw holes on side)?

              2) Also, I had opened up the Air filter component. there I noticed was some liquid, kinda sticky. Even the cabinet of air filter was liquid inside. It was just noticeable, not much. Should it be there?

              3) I will be going on a short trip, say for about 100 km total. I have checked up all the oils, tyre pressure, lights etc. What else do I need to check?

              • Headlight beam adjuster?

I've heard that there's a beam adjuster near the headlight. Is it present in apache? if yes, how to adjust it? Pics will do good

                  1 -> Not sure
2-> That would be the oil which is poured onto the filter whenever its cleaned so that its efficiency of holding up dust increases. Dont worry, that's normal IMO.
3-> Check Brakes' effectiveness, free throttle and fill sufficient fuel and you're all set. You dont have to worry much for a 100kms ride!

Yup there is. you will see a bolt-nut right below the headlight. Loosen it and you can adjust the headlights!

                            • Guys this is 1000th page!

Guys I was getting a mileage of 33 due to my insane riding.
Then I thought let's check how much max mileage this bike can give under 100% city riding. So I completely emptied the petrol and filled petrol of Rs. 500 @ 65.90rupee/litre which comes about 7.6l of petrol. I rode extremely sane i.e. shifted gears around 3k and max speed kept 60 km/h.
I had reset the tripmeter and It showed 405 km when very little petrol was remaining so the mileage comes around 53.3 km/l. I think this is amazing for such a bike which has sensational pickup and that even in city. I thought max I can get would be around 45 km/l but I was wrong. Even my friend who rides pulsar 180 doesn't get above 46.
And don't tell me that I'm running lean because I ain't running lean. When I will run lean, I'll get mileage of 100

i too get around 52kms if i keep the bike at 4k rpm and max speed of 55kms so yea the bike is awesome with mileage too and the engine kill switch is useful on signals too
